It's best just to put a fan over it and it also helps cool the ram. The TT BT I have did not cool the PWMIC enough so I put a 120mm over it and the ram.Quote:

Seems I too, have a weak core 0. So i tried dual priming at 2850 with 1.55v and it failed around 15 mins. Im not sure what to think of it yet, but it seems to be somewhat better than my 543tpmw which did 2750 stable at 1.55v. I really hope itll be stable at 2850 with no more than 1.575v.
Yeah, I was told to ziptie a fan directly blowing to the PWMIC. Too bad my case doesn't have any places to let me install a side fan. I used to drill holes and put fans on the side panel of my last case, but it was so urgly and I finally had to throw away that case.:confused:Quote:

It's getting crowded with 165's in the fs section. :(Quote:

Popping the top is not a cure-all. Sometimes it works, sometimes it don't.
I removed the IHS on my previous 170, it didnt help the OC on that chip at all, and made it harder to get a good mount. Its the reason i bought another 170, is to have one with the IHS untouched.
a good mount? if you're talking phase change, removing the IHS isn't a good idea (IMO).
But for watercooling and select air coolers, should be simple to mount on a naked core, and it has definitely improved some of my OCs.

And here's the power shot :D

What an awesome chip, I presume this is under phase, based on the temp in Smart Guardian.
Of course, the gain in raw computation is much higher than the memory loss.Quote:

Maybe some 3d benchs/prime and it should deserve a full thread itself
thanks :D :D yea it's a single stage phase change ;)Quote:

Insane scores for both of you :)
No way in hell could i even dual prime @2900mhz at 1.6v before until i got this 1KW psu http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...ad.php?t=88695 :woot:

And heres my new baby CCB1E0550VPMW.
Started booting with 2x2800Mhz and 1,28Vc under Water Ambient is 19°C.
Dualprime was running for 20minutes then i rebooted with 2x2850Mhz and 1,28Vc.Idle temp is around 34°C Load was around 41°C under DualPrime.I´m still testing the CPU. got it today by the postwoman. lol
And here e few Screens for the buddies.

19C water... dam wish i had that
but very nice result :)
Eva no Watertemp that is my Ambient in the Livingroom where the Computer is!
Water must be around 24°C!!!
And the Default Vcore is in Bios 1,35 that means under CPU-z 1,312Vc.
My Setting is 1,325Vc in Bios and 1,28Vc under CPU-Z for the 2800-2850Mhz.
Try to get CCB1E0550VPMW
Thats very important no other Wafercharge!!>1387678L505XX and Batch around 500
And the Rest is a little Luck!
still very nice my 170 0546XPMW needs 1.536v to hit 2853mhz dual prime heh
wow, thats amazing, are those volt readings accurate or are they like cpu-z .02 under?Quote:

now 2853mhz at 1.536v and 2900mhz at 1.6v dual prime so i'm hoping i can get 2950-3000mhz benchable :)
what psu did u have before? The only reason i didnt work is because it fluctuated under load?Quote:
