yeah i did that already and the other 2 wires that were posted but still stuck at 1.55v.

apparently the mod above with the vertical wires which is what i did gives you around 1.65v but it does absolutely nothing.

Did you read that whole thread? I don't think the actual voltage will be readable by CPU-z. I don't know the points to tell you to check with a voltage meter. Maybe give it a shot again and see if it helps the overclock.

cpuz doen't read it neither does the bios. doesn't help the overclock any at all.
do you know where the vcore measure point is?
if you do i'll give it another go.

how did you measure your vcore on the laptop?

yes it will be readable.

Gnding the VID pins will simply tell the motherboard what voltage should be set.

What is the voltage set at by default? You may have some power saving things that are changing the voltage.

i tried all different voltage settings in the bios. and even when i set it at 1.6v the max i get is 1.568v unloaded and 1.54v loaded.

Beware.....any know failure on asus Boards??

My P4GD1 died yesterday....with the Ct-479 and a Ce M in.
I dind't go over 1.4V as it is said...and the CPU was clocked @ 2.45 with the memory @ 214 (funny RAM ratios) 35 sec SuperPi

anyone knows this problem??

PSU and RAM was knew, board was previously installed with a Prescott..@3.73
(mofsets have suffered...??..Vcore/Prescott@1.55...Watercooled)
Mobo was 7 months and used 3 times a month....

So,........after some tests, the result is that the Mobo is dead...and it's difficult to find some right know......

So i'm planning to replace it??
I need ability to change Vcore and FSB....
and i already own a P4P800......Shoud i try the Ct-479 on this board??

same thing happening here.done the vid mod.flash with different bios.on first boot in bios will have the volts all the way up to 1.9v but seems to revert back to 1.6v.other suggestions?

Any ideas as to why my Sandra's CPU Arithmetic benchmark scores don't increase with FSB/CPU speed?

All Sandra tests were performed with CPU booting at 201x12, then EIST & ClockGen to overclock further. The score seems to hover around the 10400 mark (+/- 50), despite trying 250x10, 260x10 and 270x10.

It's got me puzzled, any ideas?

Unless extreme cooling is used ("Prommie" or LN2) it seems that most people oc'ing Dothan's will reach a certain clock where it is pointless to increase VCore.
Those of you that think it's a problem not to be able to raise the VCore above 1.6.. and uses "ordinary" cooling (including WC) should reconsider.. Just my 2 cents.. :)

will the same vcore mod works on p4p with a dothan ? is >1.6v possible ?

Yes it is possible to go over 1,6V but i think a higher voltage isn't good at all

Not correct..and it is very easy to go to Asus Web and check out which mainboards that can be used with CT-479.
I have the P4GPL-X that have PCI-E. It has lots of options in Bios.. and one of then is the ability to set VCore up to 1.9.. I guess that would satisfy those of you that think 1.6 is not enough (it is).
At present I use/test a Celeron M 350 (1.3) in this board/rig.
Not particular good OC.. "only" 164x13.. at default VCore (1.275). To increase VCore does not help at all.. it only increases the temperature..
I will get at Pentium M 740 for this board soon and report back..

prolly not a simple u-wire anyway if there is.

the only simple u-wire is for 1.55v

it's not very lucky.... :wth:

I ve only vdroop now...I ll try the vcore mod as soon... I use water cooling.
Do you think i can try 1.7v? Only for bench?

correx, which ram are you using, i tried Geil One TCCD, and couldn't get pass 255FSB.
but you have here really bad result, i had my best with air so far, at 220x12 with geil ultra x bh5, 26.641s

I m reading your thr about the vcore max... I m in the same situation...
Now i use 2x512 old Vitesta DDR500 : rock solid at 290 but CAS 3 and very high timings... I set them to 262 x 10 2,5 4-3-8 but i ve the same score at sPI..
Tomorrow i hope to increase it using my new crucial ballistix...
