Are you trying to make AMD angels out of this? AMD has changed it marketing stance and its marketing integrity has changed. Even the latest generation of 68xx series shows this, which oddly enough charlie has called them out for and pretty much any professional website as well. Any graph from AMD graphic division has become dishonest as well as viral leak or commericals from them. Another possible show of dishonesty are more recent drivers degrading image quality in certain games for performance for increased review performance. It was laughable that they say the new price of the 5970 is 499, when only a single website on a single SKU is priced like that or the email memo they sent to reviewers that the price drop on the gtx 470 was only temporary and should not be taken into account in reviews(A hypocritical statement at best considering the 5970 pricing). Charlie the paid marketing shill(come on, the ads) is another prime example.
NVidia is no angel really especially their past, but they are cleaning up their act in 2010(the pricing of their products have gotten alot better lately) and haven't been talking about whoopass and overhyping their products as much.
If charlie wants to jump on someone because there dishonest, he should be riding AMD alot more these days.
Considering he says no one that he talked to or met at NV is honest, he either needs to get out more or stop lying. It's really naive to think Charlie hate is fueled by Nvidias antics when you consider AMD ads flank his website and the bogus rumors he has spread about Nvidia as of late which have hurt his credibility. The fact that noone, rarely even people you find on forums match his level of hate shows how unique a breed Charlie is.
I agree about Neliz not nearing Charlie. He's more pro AMD than anti Nv.
There's a new rumor of a further 1 week postponement
Honestly can we BAN the name of Charlie Demerjian from XS, the guys is full of poop and is biased, who even reads his garbage anyway.
Here comes another unbiased post from tajoh111 who actually has multiple post about how bad are the AMD fanboys, but his posting about AMD is mostly negative even in this AMD thread.
Plus for sure he hates Charlie more than Charlie ever hated Nvidia, if he ever did.
Wonder what Charlie ever did to tajoh111 since I doubt they ever had any personal contact.
Maybe tajoh111 should go talk to Charlie at SemiAcurate forum to learn more about him.
Cut the crap, alot of people don't like Charlie for the very same reasons. The proof is in the responses after a news article is posted in this forum. I say negative or pessimistic things about Nvidia as well, people just have very selective memory about it when they are AMD fans. Some of my latest comments about the gtx 580 and nvidia future were super negative. I do read his forum post time to time on semiaccurate and yes they are not as hate filled(they still have hate). But its his news article that get the most attention and publicity. Sorry if I say it, but he's crazy and a:banana::banana::banana::banana:.
I didn't say anything about AMD fans or fanboys in the post you responded to...so really just be rational. I simply responded to someone saying AMD hasn't done anything dishonest which simply is not true.
so to get back on topic....

yeah looks like more rumor
I'm sure lot's of people don't like Charlie but you hate him with passion and off course there is very little any real Nvidia fanboy can like about him. Come on it's only about Video cards, nothing about religion.
I don't have selective memory and even if I don't post much I lurk this forum almost daily and your post are definitely mostly negative about AMD.
I only mentioned your multiple post about how bad are the AMD fanboys because every time i read one of your anti AMD post I wonder "why is this guy complaining so much about AMD fanboys" and that includes your post I did originally responded to.
I don't say many positive things about Nvidia either and say more negative than positive lately. I say positive things about AMD when they merit it. E.g brazos, initial pricing of the 68xx series and potential speed of the AMD's 69xx series at time. If I was as Anti AMD as you make me out to be, I wouldn't say anything good about AMD.
I also wasn't hammering AMD in the image quality thread somewhere on the first page which would be the perfect place to be negative on AMD.
There are a lot of people that don't like/hate charlie, hence why alot of people think his news should even be in the news section. I think for a professional journalist in the tech world, he lacks professionalism is completely nonobjective.
I don't hate Charlie as much as some people hate NV. I read a few post on here where some AMD fans want JHH dead and they want Nvidia to go bankrupt. That is true malice.
My post original post said nothing about AMD fanboys so it just sounds like your trying to pick a fight.
If anyone said NV was a good company that hasn't lost it moral integrity and Intel, you know there would be a :banana::banana::banana:storm of posts saying otherwise. AMD has done some questionable things lately which are true and I simply pointed them out.
I have also said multiple times, I want to get some form of the 69xx series and nothing about getting a gtx 5xx series.
It's more the nature of what's said and the timing of it
Anywho, back on topic, it appears stock will not be in short supply as some "cayman is fermi!111" people were suggestion. From Gibbo at OCUK
Quote:
If I was to build a pyramid this time well the pyramid would be larger than OcUK's offices haha, let me just say I have a lot.
Performance wise well for the money no one will be dissapointed.
Ahahaha, atleast i'm not the only one with the same sentiment of yours. :ROTF:
But let it be & let it go bro, rather than debating & mocking each other uselessly over the internet, just make a bet like a real man do, i know i put my 6 month posting on the line with his plenty optimistic US$ 499 or more MSRP for Cayman XT prediction. We'll see.
If i lose, i lose, but if i win, somebody should be admitting online that he's exactly what you've just described of, LOL. :D
What's wrong with AMD's image quality? The only two things I've seen mentioned so far is texture optimizations that are only applied in some older DX9 games and even then produce no difference in IQ in most of those. So irrelevant. The other is related to AF and/or shimmering, which comes from different LOD defaults between AMD and Nvidia (each has its pros and cons). If anything, Nvidia has some questionable IQ in the popular Trackmania screenshot.
lol what? :D
i cant remember you saying something bad about nvidia... ever...
not saying you didnt, but i didnt read it and i read the news section a lot... :D
theres nothing wrong with being biased as long as its based on something real, on your good and bad experiences... how can anybody criticize you for having made good and bad experiences with some products or companies? can you blame somebody for hating samsung after he got a galaxy phone that blew up in his hands? or somebody hating apple cause they told him to upgrade his 3g to the latest ios which basically bricked his phone and made it incredibly slow and buggy?
but you should be aware of your own bias and try to keep an open mind and not get a fake bias which isnt really based on anything real...
im biased towards ati... i always got good bang for the buck from them, and the nvidia cards i got usually made me feel that i paid too much... usually... im very happy with my 260s.. and i didnt like my 3850s...
anyways, back on topic, still no news... at all...
i hate these new CIA style ati product launches...
I have been saying before the launch of the gtx 580, they were screwed and were going to pushed out of the gaming arena entirely and screwed up the creek without a paddle. I have called cards like the the gts 430 and the gts 450 feces, pretty sure the gtx 465 too and most of this generation from NV crap, I said the gtx 580 was not really impressive. You have given for example the gtx 470 more praise than me. I said their latest tech demo's are not really that impressive looking and they should go back to the sexy women( I remember talking to you about this).
When you consider one of my statements(which have gotten people angry for some reason) where I consider AMD could scalp their cards and charge more for them, the inherent argument behind such a proposition are their video cards are better. I have said their cards are better for the most part and they have won this generation. This is something super positive and I think people miss it.
Fake bias, the only card I still own for gaming really are 4870x2 and 4890's. I felt it wasn't worth upgrading I even posted a pic a long while back that I owned them.
The only thing positive I have said about NV entirely is there ability to make money when they shouldn't and their superiority in the workstation sector and maybe the gtx 460.
Don't you remember me saying NV needs to go back to the drawing board for cards entirely and their current architecture cannot be used for gaming and is no good for it. They have to develop two lines because fermi won't be able to compete against AMD architecture. This surely can't be interpreted as positive? I think you responded to a comment I posted about this too.
Most of the 'hate' you lavished on nvidia was all deserved though (e.g. GTX465 and other uncared about low end derivatives). I guess people just find your attitude to ATI in general to be rather bleak.
FUD
AMD claims
AMD has talked to some of its favourite journalists and wants to prepare them for the European Cayman launch that should take place on December 15th, exactly seven days from now.
Some of the lucky ones got the cards that they are testing them as we speak, while partners should have the cards ready to ship early next week. We got a hint about the performance, and we will settle for that.
AMD's own benchmarketing data claims that Cayman XT is slightly below 20 percent faster than a GTX 480 in 3Dmark Vantage. When we compare our own GTX 480 results and add 20 percent on top of that it turns that Cayman XT loses to both GTX 570 and especially GTX 580.
It looks like AMD has big gains versus GTX 480 in all OpenGL games including ET Quake Wars, Wolfenstein MP and Chronicles of Riddick, quite old games if you ask us. It is around 20 percent faster than the GTX 480 in these games.
In HAWX 2 Radeon HD 6970 is some 15 percent faster than the GTX 480, and in Dirt 2 it is over 15 percent faster. When we compare the scores we have with this game and GTX 480 and add additional 15 percent we don’t see it beating the GTX 580, but it gets close.
The smallest gain is in Far Cry 2 with only a few percent faster than GTX 480, following with World in Conflict where ATI is below 10 percent faster and Metro 2033 where ATI wins by slightly over 10 percent, again vs GTX 480.
There might be some cases where Radeon HD 6970 will be able to beat the GTX 580, but the first impression is that Nvidia should end up slightly faster in most games.
My views of Nvidia are pretty bleak too. I was thinking they were going to have to conceded the entire directx 11 generation considering their marketshare and the slow adoption rate of a mainstream part as good as the gtx 460. One thing I was definitely bleak over is AMD mobile CPU division for the longest part. Considering the reviews for them were mostly negative from a performance vs battery perspective, i think it was well justified. Hopefully that changes with bulldozer.
On another note, I wonder how true the below link is.
Radeon HD 6970 is 10 - 20% faster than GTX 480
http://www.fudzilla.com/games/item/2...r-than-gtx-480
Not as impressive as I would have thought considering the hype, but very believable and in line with a $450 price tag rumors leaked. If they can stay near the 200w area, they have a real winner over the gtx 5xx if they lower the price a bit. If the performance is only 10-20% faster than the gtx 580, we probably have good reason for one of the delays and I expected better. Hopefully this isn't true but it is rather realistic at this point.
Still potential for the difference to be with from a 6950, but then again, this is fudzilla so everything is not close to reliable.
Nonetheless Fud usually right when it is this close to launch.
The what now?
