Whats all the excitment over a Led? its just a light, its on there for pple that work with extreme cooling and High clocks running a naked system. Nothing to be excited about.
I just flashed to the F8d bios and noticed something bizare with my E8400 in the M.I.T screen, it shows a 9.5 multi just like that of an E8500 and also displays the projected overclock like (500x9.5=4750) but does'nt enable the 9.5 multi within windows:confused: anyone seen this too?
I'm not that excited, I just thought it'd be cool if there was a way to turn them on when overclocking... Whats wrong with that? :)

No they turn off after you get through the startup. I took that pic in the middle of tweaking the settings in the bios. It will stay on when you are in the bios settings page. I like the board but, it is still buggy that is for sure. I now know how to get it up to speed but, it is stubborn as hell. I have noticed that after getting it up to speed around 4Ghz that when you want to bring it back down it has issues like say going down to 3.6Ghz from the 4ghz it starts getting unstable and yet when you reset to the optimized defaults then speed it up in 10Mhz increments it only takes 1.3625v to make it happy at the 3.6Ghz and it doesn't need any bump literally until that spot is hit. I couldn't get it to stay stable coming down from 4ghz unless I reset to optimized then stepped up. Kind of weird but, that's what it takes. I still haven't tweaked my memory settings yet I just set them to a spot that I knew I couldn't be having issues with the memory so, I could jack the cpu up and only have to give it Voltage when it became unstable.
truehighroller: Not enough MCH and CPU (and memory if you overclock it too) Voltage, system unstable ...
.FSB +.25 MCH+.20 Processor now 3.6Ghz 1.38v~ DDR2=2.1v @ the Factory voltage. Cpu to PCIE=1000Mv. I added my sig for helpful info.
Here is my sig/setup.
Is there a setting in BIOS somewhere that will allow the computer to resume by hitting a key on the keyboard? I tried the keyboard startup setting in BIOS, but that doesn't seem to do it (I'm using a PS2 keyboard BTW).
Are you going into stanby mode?...have you enabled S1 or S3?...there should be a bios option for Resume by keyboard or some such thing.
What is the latest and greatest NIC drivers? Can you provide link?
Thanks.

SO guys, is this THE board to get? I'm hoping to get my q6600 24/7 stable, somewhere around 4,1 - 4,2 GHz.
Anyone having stability issues with the G.SKILL's PC8500 2X2Gb? I switched from the PC8000 ones and although I'm doing less OC on the new ones (1066Mhz stock -> 1140Mhz OC vs. (1000Mhz stock -> 1080Mhz OC = 74Mhz vs. 80Mhz) I can't seem to use them with performance mode 7 with TURBO settings. They keep giving me BSOD's. I had to went for performance mode 8 to get stability.
Thing is that now I can't seem to have a clean boot after the PC is off overnight, you know, cold boot bug again, and with the PC8000 sticks I was safe from that most of the time. vDIMM is roughly the same (2.08 vs 2.13). I've tried 2.08 as well with the new sticks but didn't noticed anything different.
When it comes to CPU OC, now I'm at 3.8Ghz with 1.45vcore. This was the whole point of switching to the PC8500 sticks, of course.
So... anyone with this PC8500 sticks that could share timings and tweaks? :)
Peace.

I did find that this does work (a little differently that how I expected though).
I changed the Power On By Keyboard to "Password" and Power on By Mouse to "Double Click".
I have the password set to "A". So to turn on the computer, I have to press the "A" key or double click the mouse.
Ok I have the EX38-DQ6 and my question to everyone is, where is my performance setting at in these?
CAS Latency Time
DRAM RAS# to CAS# Delay
DRAM RAS# Precharge
Precharge delay (tRAS)
---------Advanced-----------
ACT to ACT Delay (tRRD)
Rank Write To READ Delay
Write To Precharge Delay
Refresh to ACT Delay
Read to Precharge Delay
Static tRead Value
Static tRead Phase Adjust
Command Rate (CMD)
This is what memset says I see I am set to 6 but, no where in my settings in bios wrote down above, do I see a 6 setting. I have the settings all set manual accept the last three.
