Opteron 165 CCBWE 0550 UPMW
9*300 = 2700 Mhz @ 1.34v (Stock!)
8 Hour Dual Prime Stable
:bounces:
Deciding if I want to go to 1.45 (bios) in order to hit 2800 Mhz. I kind of like the idea of a 50% overclock with no extra voltage.
Its realy nice :D better than mine :) 2600 @ 1.34v.Quote:

Put my 0550 UPMW up for sale in the for sale forum!
:)
Thats nice! im using 1.5 to try and hit 2.8, kinda limited by memory though.Quote:

My PWMIC temp is about the same as yours but it seems your CPU runs much cooler than mine(60C  ) I'm waiting for the SI-120 which is supposed to arrive in 2 days.:DQuote:

@Rufus: Hiya :D
Yes Folks ... he`s right ... my 0550VPMW is blowing smoke so far ... latest is 10x315@1,504 under Water (IHS is still untouched !) :woot:
Screeny from last night:
10x315@1,504V:

Other Results on h2o:

Guess it`s time for a chiller :toast:
Nice results :)
Hi Pete_X you have the Best Watercooled 170 up to Date.
But soon we will see how good will be my 0550VPMW.
Congrats to your great Chip Pete!!!!!
:woot:
Very nice results, Pete ;)
Thanks for the Flowers :toast:Quote:

hope you'll get a good one too. Good luck with the chip.
We will see but i have non Expertboard and my Watercooling is not so good as from Pete_X. THX Jupiler i will post when i get the Chip.
Guys, whats so special about this Expert board ... what is the differrence between it and the ultra - d
Powersupply of the CPU.
Expert has 4 Phases
Non Expert only 3 Phases.
That means higher PWM Temps by the Non Expertboards.
And PWM is the overall power circuit correct
pulse-width modulation integrated circuit. Basically it is the group of mosfets near the corner of the board which regulate the voltage.
Expert also has more advantages than power reg over Ultra. Chipset fan is not in the way of the vid cards and it can run tighter mem timings.
My 165 0551UPMW runs prime stable at 300x9, but it is because the core0 is VERY much weaker. I'm not sure if removing the IHS will help (never done and I'm afraid I will waste the chip...).
But core1 primes up to 315x9 so... any suggestions? It is not a temp or voltage issue. I've tried from stock up to 1.60 (a fast boot -> prime) but it fails instantly in core0. And temps... the higher I get is 44c load in a nonExpert with BT and AS5.
I'm not sure if its worth the risk, because I can run it at 1.4v in bios at around 293x9.
Will the IHS removal make the core0 stronger? Is the TT Big Typhoon ok "as it is" for nonIHS chips or I need to do any mods?
Thanks!
That Asus A8N32x Had 8 Phase power if i'm not mistaking. But i don't whant no Asus anymore after my A8R-MVP.Quote:

I'm now priming 2650 MHz @ 1.4v Its 50c @ load. Could not run 2650 MHz @ 1.34v. 2600 Mhz @ 1.35v could prime more than 9 hours.
Not worth taking off IMHO if one core is so much weaker, I have a similar problem with core 1, not stable no matter Vcore anything above 2.9GHz :slapass:Quote:

I COULD be. But i don't think so. If that was the case i should have higher core temps than the rest of us. Its a bit risky tho. U could kill the cpu.Quote:
