Everybody uses the hardware they want here. The fun of tweaking can be found in any piece of hardware, from the cheap $1 ferrite cores for the psu lines to the most expensive graphic card. Well i just installed my new new toy one nice nickel plated heatkiller and here are some prime stable results with my "crappy" rampage formula :D
Its the first time im prime stable with this hardware at this speed and... this.. having 25c room temperature :shocked::D

Nice work greg :up: I am also aiming for something similar - I just got my new OCZ blades today and will probably settle for the 5:6 divider, about 1150MHz.

Fortunately my Q9650 does nicely with low volts :yepp:

The think is that i have a X48 chip so i need a lot more juice(to be fully stable) than P45s otherwise i cant imagine what my lovely Q9650 could with a P45....

Great temps greg.m for 1.424v, What CPU block did you have before this? And how much lower are the temps with the HeatKiller 3.0?

Making good progress - 4.2GHz now 1hr Prime blend stable with 1.325v in BIOS.

Haven't really tweaked it yet... PLL and NB could be a lot lower I think, and possibly vcore too. All CPU GTLs are auto. :up:

Q9650 (9*467MHz ) + Ifx14-10 with scythe Slipstream 1200rpm
2*2Gb Gi-Skill Pi Black 8500
POV 8800 GTS640
PSU : Corsair HX520
stable under OCCT, OCCT PSU test, and LinX

CPU Voltage : 1,30000
CPU GTL Voltage Reference (0/2) : AUTO
CPU GTL Voltage Reference (1/3) : AUTO
CPU PLL Voltage : 1.50
FSB Termination Voltage : 1,28
DRAM Voltage : 1.80
NBridge Voltage : 1.24
NBridge GTL Reference : AUTO
SBridge Voltage : 1,10
PCIE SATA Voltage : 1,50

It will have to make some improvements that I obtained on the P5Q deluxe Thread

Currently testing stability at 4300MHz using 4x super pi 32m, not exact in round, not convergent in sqr etc :shakes:

I'm gonna wait till late at night to Prime at 4300MHz, low ambient temp :D

Here is what used to have :

One block for almost everything, nb, cpu, mosfets... It was good for light overclocking but i couldnt find stability above 4200-4250, that was the peak. I could bench or prime test with 1.40vcore but core temps could hit 90c :shocked: So, priming was forbidden with high vcore.

A big difference in temps, more room to push higher now. The new Blocks look great.

Never tested 8.5 multi before but testing with OC Nub pushed me to do it lol, seems to like it needed more volts on the MCH and vdimm but this is my first attempt
