According to Intel, yes. You can convert any single drive to any of the raid formats. Be aware though, the Intel Matrix Storage Manager (which you need to do the conversion) doesn't work with Vista yet because the Vista driver is actually newer than the Storage Manager.Quote:

Intel is correct. I migrated a single 500gb drive using the Matrix Storage Manager *in Vista 32* to a RAID-1 array. Worked like a charm. I've had no issues with the Intel Matrix Storage Manager (version 6.2.1.1002) in Vista, it's been working great.Quote:

Funny that your Marvell driver works but not your Matrix, and mine is the exact opposite.
On a positive note, this XBX2 is a nice and stable board. Running my E6600 at 3ghz, 333fsb, 4gb memory 1:1, vCPU 1.42, vMEM 2.36. 8+ hours Orthos stable, temps never got higher than 58c. This is much much better than my P5W DH! I needed vCPU 1.48v to be somewhat stable, but it never liked my memory.

so this means with the intel matrix storage manager, i can take my current O/S on my 250 gig hard drive and convert it over to 2 x 36Gig raptors in Raid 0, am I understanding this correctly?
Yeah, I found the 6.2 version this morning and its working fine. Intel just hasn't updated the Downloads area for the XBX2 with it. Still the old 5.5 version there.Quote:

I had to jump through hoops to get my XBX2 from Microcenter. Knowing they were out of stock, I ordered one online for in-store pickup. I found out that if they don't get it in stock within 2 days, they cancel the order! :mad: I had to call the home/regional office (get the number from your local Microcenter) and they checked stocks of other Microcenter stores and had one overnighted to my local store. :woot:Quote:

The NewEgg version is the retail (BOX), where the Microcenter version isn't :) I also placed an order with Microcenter but canceled a few days later since they were never planning to ship it and went with NewEgg.
