Hmm after updating bios to the 14 i got stuck at reboot with error 20.
I am using teamgroup rams.
I removed one module and got it boot back but now i get stuck at error 5d.
Any know what it's blocking me ? I cant even get in bios and modify settings.
5d looks me init internal sound card , i got the sound card installed fine.
Really it's same system was running from 4 months+ and nothing was moved after the bios update.:(
Any can help me ? Feel rather stuck now with this silly 5d error.

Ok got it , definitely my TEAM GROUP DDR2 1000 PC8000 2Gb. 5-5-5-15 cant run with bios 14a2.
Can use them only single module.
Using them together whatever bios setting i get at boot error 20 and after i got to reset cmos or even with single module the bios get stuck at 5d error.
theres nothing good with bios14a2
After trying all the biosses and swapping the northbridge cooling i come the following conclusion:
1. My max. fsb oc has gone from 401 to 438 at 8 multi with 14 beta 2 and new Coolermaster Blue Ice pro chipset cooler
2. We need a vfsb voltage option in the bios.
3. With the latest beta bios i only need 1.7 vmch to get a 438 fsb
4. I cant go over 438 fsb at a multi of 8 no matter what voltages i use
5. 9*400 works perfectly 12 hours prime stable at 1.46 vcore, 1.75 vmch
6. With the 8 multi the AW9D-Max does a system fsb of 1750 wich i think is very good for a 975 chipset
7. With more voltage adjustments the max can do 2000 fsb !?
8. You really need a third party northbridge cooler. I'm thinking about buying the switech or hr-05 for the long term
9. If you want to set benchmarking records buy a intel p965/nvidia 680i

You still get the 800 dram strap with CPU at 1066 which is the only change I really see anyways.
You still get the cool new bootscreen which helps raise the FSB by about 4 billion GHz. Well, maybe none at all but it is nicer than the old one.

I concur. I tried the 02 did not like it. Then ran into '20' issue. Changed to the '01' and was tired of trying to clock so did a couple hours of prime @ 440fsb. Could have gone longer but was my bedtime. Seems to work ok.
A little update for my experience.
I'm running the M606C_A11, the first bios with the 1333 strap.
e6600 9*396 memory 1:1 5-5-5-15-35
Core 1.3125, MCH 1.65, Vdimm 2.25
Orthos blend 30min stable
sp 1m 14.344s.
Cooling:
CPU: Lapped TTBT Delta 120x76mm
NB: Dynatron 60mm copper AthlonXP heatsink
The 1333 strap has helped me out quite a bit--prior, my highest stable settings was 9*379.

I finally got my 6700 running good. Sold my 6800 for this much cheaper L627A 6700 which actually clocks better :banana: All it took was the booster mod and vfsb mod.

wow Silverado, that is damn nice. A worthy system indeed. 4301 nice number. Were you able to do orthos before for that long or did the cpu or 14 alpha make a difference?

has anyone else had an issue with the 667 divider? Im on bios 1.3 and just got some new DDR2 1000 to run at 400FSB 667 divider to put it at 1000Mhz, but it wont make it into windows with any timings, at any voltages. They will run 1:1 at 800Mhz (1:1) 3-3-3-8 2.25v no problem, and will run on the 800 divider at 1000Mhz 4-4-4-12 (when i back FSB down to 333FSB), but when its at 400FSB and i try to run the ram at 1000 (667 divider) its a no go... Anyone know what the deal is?
Try increasing chipset voltage............. if that does not work then i don't think you have a chance.By the way i think you will have better results 1:1 800 3-3-3-8, than 1000 4-4-4-12, except unbuffered Sandra.

I finally did the vmch booster mod and can blend at 430fsb and boot at 4ghz and enter windows now. It never booted higher than 3.9ghz before the mod and it will now boot up to 4.1ghz. I attribute most of the new gains to the 4:3 divider but as you know that also means giving up memory bandwidth. 1333 strap did nothing for higher fsb. 14 alpha 2 bios is better for me than 14 beta 1 but i could no longer deal with the 20 post error that required that i remove 1 stick of memory to boot.
A slight improvement but im still no longer happy with the board. Could be because i broke my bios chip socket trying to hotflash my old bios chip. Someone suggested i super glue it but i had wanted to sell the board and i dont see too many people being enthused with buying a superglued board. Im hoping abit will kindly repair the board for me for a couple bucks. Maybe charge me $30 for the repair $6 for a "handling charge" whatever the hell that is and ship it back to me for $15. Damn rapists.
Have anyone tested a Q6600 on this board?

I just did the VMCH booster mod and it had no effect. Either the wire has come loose or I was right that I just need more fsb voltage.
Can't do the vfsb mod now though because I have an ancient soldering iron and the tip doesn't get hot, only the sides.
