so what voltages you guys think its better instead AUTO???
i only use to change voltages to benchmark , when i use high FSB like 470Mhz , i use 1.6v SB and 1.45vFSB , nothing else .

Already replaced, new one's running fine.Quote:

The new one has been replaced w/ a Jing Ting and it gets warm. :D About 1/8 inch clearance, hehe.Quote:

Voltages, all auto except SB, which was set to 1.7 with 2 cards. Is now at auto with one card.
Set to 1.55V, no sign of x1 ;) .Quote:

I see that there are more ppl having this problem with an Ati card than a Nvidia card.........
If i had it, i would just send it RMA, how the hell are you supposed to play a game @x1, i really cant even amagine the very very low FPS.
Mine doesn't happen with up to 1.55v vmch. However it appears with 1.65v. Try it and report back.Quote:

Tested at 1.65V, still x16.Quote:

hmm try to reboot about this setting.. I have 16x if I correct and save bios everytime a reboot/start up, if I reboot and not go into bios, then 1x appears

yé Metal, nice to see you there!
i will never understand the behaviour of this P5B... i tryed again at 400*9 withe 1.55 vmch and each times it was at X16 :(

I need to RMA it, when I have time
I'm back on my opty, sux to run pi :stick:
Nforce 680 will be the next one...for me
When I try 400x9 my monitor will turn off/on/off & not Show that it is in windows.Quote:

Idk what the heck it is!:zombie: :zombie: Sledgehammer is looking pretty nice about now.
Geez,
I've already tried to explain that the 1X issue is NOT a single setting. Its a combination of PCIe, Vmch, VCore and FSB. If I screw with any of these enough I can get it to happen.
If you are having issues with 1x try one or both of these:
-Set PCIe down to 96Mhz (I know I know, just try it)
-Raise VCore higher then you think is required for you oc
See if that works for anyone. You don't need to RMA the board, its not (technically) broken, just has a bug when overclocking. But its fixable.
Mine is steady on 16x now except for rare occasions where I screw up some oc settings. 400x8 and 4-4-3-4 or 500x7 and 5-5-5-5 both 96Mhz PCIe, Mch 1.6V, etc etc etc
But... If set PCIe above 100 I get issues with cold boots and 1X, without changing other settings. I've gotten 16x at 110Mhz but I need to mess with other stuff.
EDIT: Oh, also try cold and warm boots. Last night I messed with something then changed it back to where I KNOW 16x worked, but it kept coming up 1x. So I cold-booted, no setting change, worked fine.
I have a 1900XT and have had that happen when PCIe was too high.Quote:

I haven't had that or cold boot problems since, well just see my post above this.
well like i said, when i turn down the pc, hit the psu switch and then the power switch few times it always boots at 16x, when i just shut down, reset or change a bios setting it always boots at 1x........another thing i was trying today, i leaving the system off for like 10sec after powering down (just a shut down not tuching the psu) and two or three times that i tried it it booted at 16x, so that might also be a possible work around
set pci to 96 and high vcore didnt help.. after saving bios, the MB beep beep bepp, and then rebooter itself and then it booted but with 1x:(Quote:

Leave those settings and turn the psu off. Wait approx 15s (this is VERY important for my setup) and then turn back on, wait 5s and then power up.
See what happens then
hate it, if I have to power down PSU and that stuff, just to get the damn 16x back.. OMG
it helps now 16x, but dono if it stays that way.. brb
It doesn’t matter what I do anymore.
Always 16X after I reverted to 0614 and flashed 0804.
Strange demon we have lurking about this motherboard.
It doesn’t need new bios.
It needs a priest
I think that you might be onto something with this. I have a X800XT and occasionally when the computer boots I can see from the harddisk led that it is booting into Windows. But I get no monitor signal.Quote:

Strange mobo. ;)
Same thing with mine. I think we have pretty much nailed down the symptoms of this case, now we just need a proper workaround from Asus. I'm not going to cold boot this thing twice every time I change something from BIOS or just need to boot because of some driver or update.Quote:
