thanks for the replies guys, Stryg I'll bear that in mind and try booting at 200 at the weekend when I return home.

Sharp - I'm using a "-E" BIOS, v023 (with multiplier & vcore adjustments). It has memory dividers for 266, 320 & 400 but no more.

edit: thought I'd add, I've also had the system stable at 10x275 1:1 (no real performance gain over the above except in Sandra memory benchmark), and 290x9, with the RAM at 320 (4:5) (worse performance than 260x10 1:1 in everything). Strangely 250x9 and 250x10 score very very closely in Sandra's CPU test??????

I have P4C800-ED, PM 740, and I cant get pass 220fsb, no mater what.
I can boot with 13x200, 1.5v, prime stable, at 205FSB, nothing, not even with 1.6V.
If i set multi on 9x or 10x, i can't get more than 220fsb, no mater what, not with clockgen, 1.6v??

Mushkin Redline Xp4000, they do 270 on nf4 ultra-d

and during some reading this topic i came to conclusion, that it could be ram's fault, so I am going to borow some TCCD from a friend to give it a try and if better I'll probobly buy some Geil One TCCD.
and other idea, please share.

875/865 should be run 1/1 no matter what :)

I'm running 2x512MB Mushkin Redline XP3200 (same CH-5 UTT as the XP4000) and I'm running stable at 220MHz fsb 1:1 at 2, 2, 2, 5 with OCZ DDR Booster at 3.3v on a P4C800-ed rev. 2.00. What voltage are you running at? What bios rev?

i have vdimm, measured voltage with voltmeter was 3.3v, rev 2. mobo and latest bios, .23
so you have 220fsb stable, i could probobly do that, what about more?

If I pump more voltage (3.4 - 3.5v) I can get 225 max at 2-2-2-5, but no more than that. I also have performance acceleration mode disabled (actually it's set to Auto) in the bios. With it on, I can barely get 200fsb at those timings.

From what I understand the DFI boards are able to get a lot more out of this UTT memory (260+ at 2-2-2-5) due to some bios issue that DFI addressed.

not all memory is going to clock the same.. seems like yours doesnt clock as wells as others, you could probably rma it and try your luck with a new set

unless its a fsb wall on the dothan, try running a 4:5 divider and see if you can get the memory higher... or try it on another system

It's definitely not an fsb wall. I can hit 260fsb at 10x multi with 5:4 divider, but at 1:1 the memory hits the wall right at 220.

This XP3200 is still clocking above spec with tighter timings too, so rma is out of the question. But I would think that zbogo's XP4000 should run at least 250fsb with 2-3-2-6 since that's spec for his memory.

Looks like a controller limitation, my old skool bh5s wont go higher than 229MHz @ anything from 2.9V to 3.6V, with either stick I can take them to 284MHz @ 3.6V

Well I tried taking a stick out to test the speed with just one stick, and I still couldn't get it to run any faster. But then when I put the second stick back in, I don't know what I did (I think I didn't have it aligned properly, I noticed it was difficult when I put it in) but two of the contacts on the memory toasted :confused: Hopefully I didn't trash my mobo. I tried booting with 2x256 cheapo DDR2700, and it wouldn't even boot. It boots fine with one stick and they are not a matched pair, so I'm hoping this is just a dual-channel issue and not the mobo.

Anyway I need to get some more memory. I'm pretty new to all of this so I don't want to spend a fortune in case I blow something else up :eek: So can someone recommend the best 2x512 memory I can get without breaking the bank? How about the new skhool BH-5's? Are they a no-go like these UTT CH-5's?

Here's my specs:
Asus P4C800-e Deluxe Rev. 2.00 (unmodded)
Pentium M 1.6 @2587 stable
OCZ DDR Booster

you can clock them up, however i couldnt get one to work with the ct479

PM730@IHS from a 2,4c and a Zallman 7700cu as coolling.(Idle 30 load 47)
P4C800-E Delux has vdimm and droop moods
Corsair pc3500 gets 3.2V
any suggestion to why i can`t extend fsb 220 :confused:

USe clockgen to bump up the fsb after booting at 200 fsb. That will let you get up there. I got mine to 250 easily on a p4p800se..

That did not do the trick !
Still won`t pass fsb 220
even tryd 1.6v on cpu but no improvment :(
