So, a quick question about this board. Anyone who uses the built in waterblock? I mean, most XS persons who watercool their computers goes all the way and cool everything with the best blocks avalible, but I dont want to do that. I just want to use the built in one, but how is the performace? I only have my CPU in the loop and a Thermochill 120.3. Should work fine, right? I got a Q6600 that I want to get up to 3.6 - 3.7 (and yes, higher works too ; ) )

Is it 1/4 sized treads on the Fusion block?

i have extreme striker 2 with q9300 @ 2.5 ghz that has got a multiplier 7.5.after my last format when i open the ai souite i can see 333mhz * 6=2000 mhz, therefore in the setup menu the multiplier is at 7.5.is there any serious problem or a mistake of the programm?and how can i solve it?

i don't know what the heck happened but after a reboot it returned to normal.thanks anyway

goal, that's quite normal that the cpu is set to 6 during idle. think it's due to the c1e function @ bios.
clocks down to the lowest multiplier @ idle, during load it clocks to the normal multi.
so: q9300 @ idle= 6x333 @load= 7,5x333

I have the Thermalright Ultra-120 Xtreme, but temps are at their max for some reason. I dont want to even bother reapplying everything, is fine at stock anyways, will do that once I have to put my water cooling parts :)

I also have it horizontal instead of vertical, it only improved temps for the NB, but I think it made CPU temps worse lol, and my case door fan is off too.

Dont worry, I will be back with high FSBs speeds as soon as I apply water to this monster :up:

I hope you are not using 15.17
Well, I would also like a RAID card for extra storage, Im currently using all my ports lol

The NB is 3/8, thats why the included adaptor and crappy plastic tube (which should not be used)

I got mine for about $35 so its not a good card what so ever. But it works for my two 500 Gb so I dont care ; ) I will need it when I go to Dreamhack the next time (only the BIGGEST friggin LAN in the world ; )) There might be a couple of....Freeware programs I need :yepp:

Yeha, still on IDE. I luuuv IDE! A BIG friggin cable that is totaly impossible to hide...How is it possible not to love it? ; ) Using 15.17? Sorry, I dont even know what that means.

Damn, then I guess it might be a good idea to get some new. Thanks for the info! So do you think I should upgrade from my 680i to this board?

The fusion block needs 3/8 tubing, I water cool with a corsair nautilus 500 and it works fine for me.

I have a Q6600, and I can't OC it over 3.0 Ghz. It could be a ram issue, I am running Corsair 1333 RAM but will upgrade to TW3X4G1600C9DHXNV soon, that might help me OC more.

isn't 1002 outdated?

The latest I was aware of was 901. If 1002 is outdated what are you running. This 1002 I assume is not beta.

I hate IDE, big cable impossible to hide messes up my cable management lol.
15.17 I meant nForce drivers version 15.17, they have a known bug that affects the IDE port only, thats why people using the IDE port should be using 9.64 and not 15.17.

Yeah I dont know why release it now, like I said on the ASUS forums, this is to me more like a 901.5 or 902 lol, nothing important to worry about.

0901 clocks better for me.

I had seen the 1002 from Warboy but thought it to be a beta. Given I am doing well with 901 with a mild overclock and you recommend 901 is better then 1002 I guess I will continue to increase my overclock with 901 this weekend. Thanks gentlemen.

I had one instance of corruption with 0901 in a two week period.
So far (almost two weeks) no corruption with 1002.

I did find that loading previous settings generated in 0901 resulted in C1e behaving as though it were enabled (after flashing to 1002 and clearing cmos) when bios said it was disabled.

I cleared cmos again and loaded all settings from scratch and everything is now fine.

Oc'd my 8600 to 4.7 no probs.

24/7 4.2ghz @1.24v. Very sweet little chip.

Last night, after some pressure from a friend I finally started to OC since getting my board back from RMA (was a bit nervous, yes).

BIOS: 0901
CPU: Q9450
RAM: G.Skill DDR3-1600 2x2GB

Hit 1600 Linked and Sync'd (7-7-7-20, 2T, 1.9V) with ease (had corruption and memory errors prior to RMA)
Hit 1700 Linked and Sync'd (7-7-7-20, 2T, 1.9V), again very easy
Hit 1800 Linked and Sync'd (7-7-7-20, 2T, 1.9V)

Memory Timings and Memory Voltage were the only things modified, everything else was on Auto. :D Started the easy way...:D

1800+ is where problems started to happen and I was too tired to keep going. I'll post up BIOS settings tonight for some help from you all, but what worries me is the result after going above 1800. Going back to stock timings I could not boot into Windows, got the blinking cursor after POST and no amount of tweaking would boot into Windows.

Like I said, will post BIOS settings and some SS's of my results tonight, but just wanted to see if anyone had this happen.

yea, i agree.

Also, I gotta get a RMA on mine, My Ethernet port 1 is dead, Each time I try to use it, it gives me a instant BSOD on both XP and Vista, FRESH installs. Also, I do think my nb is failing. I tried to contact support and all techs were busy and the lady told me i should get a call back within the hour, but a day later, nothing. Really upset about ASUS and thinking about selling my board once it gets back from RMA, and get a eVGA 790i FTW.

Wow that sucks warboy, but ASUS support lack of knowledge is well-known already.
I really wonder why we havent see new BIOS releases...

Well, I ran into corruption after the first couple runs. Just couldn't get into Windows. So I reinstalled and wanted to take an image this time, rather than just spinning the wheel.

So, several hours dorking with network bootdisk and rdeploy. Rdeploy just doesn't want to work on this machine...screw it I'm oc'ing.

Triend 1600 Linked and Sync'd (7-7-7-18 2T @1.9V), looks like corruption. Could boot into safe mode just fine, but could not get into Windows. System log just had tons of NTFS errors, which means corruption.

So, I'm back to a base Vista x64 install and went out this morning and picked up Acronis.

I'm using nForce driver version 9.64, Forceware 177.83. I thought this corruption non-sense ended with 0802! What I don't understand is how wacked out this board is. Two nights, reached 1800 Linked and Sync'd, now I can't OC a thing without getting corruption. I do have two partitions on my boot drive, but I cannot believe that would be causing any extra hassle.

Thoughts?

Finally I had some time to mount up my E8600 on the S2E. First boot 500x8.5=4.25GHZ.

Its also SPI 32M stable. Also, as you see in the Intel burn test, the residue is the same across 10 iterations.
