I'm beginning to wonder if the temperature diode on my X1900 is defective or not. My X2 4400+@2.75 GHz (same loop) never exceeds 35 C under load yet my video card peaks at 50 C which doesn't make sense.

I remounted it 3 times so it can't be that. I even have 2 80 mm fans blowing on the XTX + OCZ ramsinks so you'd think that would help a bit with overall temps.

What are the stock 2D and 3D core voltages on the XT?

I know it does on the core, but does the RAM voltage change as well when the card switches to 3D mode?

Think some of the problems is caused by my powersupply but not all.

Someone asked for temps on Maze4 GPU block to. Mine is ~38 idle and 48 max

Guys how do I extend the clocking ranges available in ccc I have reached the top it will allow me 690,800mhz at stock voltages and on stock cooler no problems at all and want to go further.

Hey, been messing with ati tool and have found that when i mess with the ram settings itll cause my screen to freeze/artifact ~775mhz, but using the CCC it detected the full 690/800 and was 3d06 stable/artifact free. Has this happened to anyone else?

probably ati tool is setting more aggressive timing on RAMs compared to CCC overclocking tool. Just run your favorite benchie and you should see difference btw overclocking with ati tool or CCC.

Thats possible, but i also forgot to mention that, before i had even flashed to xtx, i had been able to clock it to 780 at least once and it didnt freeze/artifact at all. Ive also had it freeze when adjusting the gpu speed to a speed it had done before same voltages. I might mess with overclocker tonight to see if it produces the same behavior, even tho OC has looser timings its probably better to be able to clock it.

core voltage is 1.575, mem is 2.130/2.110v and VDDCl is stock...speakin of which, do you guys think 1.575v is too high for 24/7 volts if i have WCing with max core temp of 45C?

Ok, I think 1.575v on core is little to high for 24/7. Try give the VDDCI more volts and lower the core volts.

One more question, i cant get memory stable over 801MHz. But in Overclocker i can real high on stock volt but i get lower and lower scores. (Powersupply)
So if i get a new powersupply do u people think i can go higher in ATItools?
Think the volts is very unstable and goes up and down.

I don't think it will hurt the GPU if you peak at 45 C with those voltage settings. I peak at 48 C now using 1.55v on vgpu for 24/7 settings and I haven't had any issues.

Got a new PSU today. Starting ATItools to se if i could get higher.
But not. Trying higher volts on ram but not a single MHZ higher. Cant even go for 809 in highest setable voltage in ATI tools. :/

Can it be the memory cooling? got som AS5 and "super-glue" on it.

So are the XT's clocking consistantly less than the XTX's, even with XTX bios? I' saw somewhere that the XT's are overclocking about 50-75mhz less on the core, and 100mhz on the ram. But it didn't say if they were XT's with XTX bios. I'm still waiting for my XT to ship (why's monarch so slow?!?!?) and i'm getting more and more anxious about what to expect.

Think the volts is very unstable and goes up and down.

Overclocker loosens the mem timings, which is why your score goes down.

yeah, but i get higher with lower freqs. Testing OC now. Think all depends on the VDDIC. i set it to 1.550v and can get 801MHz on memory with standard volts. :S

I still have no clue exactly what VDDCI is and how it affects clocks. I wonder why it is only on the X1900 and not the X1800 too.
