thanks man. anybody willing to donate me an extra multiplier to use on this chip? :D

have you reached the point to where you wont be using your single core much longer?
It's quite the opposite, I'm starting to missed the flexibility of my 148 as the 11x multiplier is VERY handy, unless I buy more ram that could clock higher, or find a 175 that could clock as well as this chip otherwise it's possible that I 'might' go back to single core....I still can't decide at the moment  One thing for certain though, I wouldn't hesitate to run this 170 at 3.20Ghz @1.56v for 24/7.Quote:

i was talking to someone today and i told him something, that i cannot believe how spoiled i have become... i got an hourglass yesterday when doing daily type stuff. so simple, so 'expected' by most, but it really bothered me. i am so used to never having to wait for ANYTHING, and i love it.
besides Q4 and the like being dual-core capable, id stick with the dualie...
anyway, we both know anything above 10x is for suckas.
I think you can really make your CPU and mem fly with an Expert. You should try it before ditching your CPU.
Ben, if you do go back to single core, can i buy that 170 off of you?
WOW. i just realized he had the asus...
which makes it a more amazing feat, but is somewhat disappointing...
get an expert, or at least a slider!
I don't think any SS can handle taht kind of heatload. At least a SS for normal use 24/7 unlike a uber 1hp rotary style:cool: Very ncie chip and keep that sucker clocking.Quote:

I'd ordered some 2GB Gskill HZ from newegg earlier and should received them next Wednesday, once I get them in I'll push it as far as I could and post back some more results :D :DQuote:

What kind of 2GB kits might have issues on the expert? UCCC? if it's not appropriate to post it in the public please let me know via PM :p:Quote:

The best CCBWE I've seen to date is an x2 4800 which is able to run @ ~-55C Core temps. I'd say on average though, the CCBWE's seem to crap out @ around -35C - -40C core. Your cpu @ approx 1.6 - 1.65V will probably be a perfect fit with the auto. Here's a little bios shot from my FX57 a couple days ago:Quote:

280-285mhz seems to be the absolut max i can get my z503s to run stable with the cpu in #0 and drive / data strenght 5 / 1 appears best.
295mhz wasn't a problem with my previous 3700+ even with only 2,6v.
where are you guys getting 0550 UPMW 170s? I could only find the 165s from TankGuys (I ordered 2 they will be here on Monday). But I could not find anyone selling 170 0550UPMWs...
i got mine of ebay, and i may have access to more 170 0550's, so if youre interested in buying one, polssibly PM me? i duno the seller needs to get back to me
If only it were that easy to figure out these things :p: TBH, I don't have much experience with the 2gb kits, but there could be numerous things that are preventing your OC from reaching the levels of your 3700+. As you probably know, you simply just can't expect as high of an OC with a dual core as a single core. What Vdimm are you running @ 280 with your dual core? IMO, running drive/data of 5/1 is a little weak unless you're running in extreme cold. On average, I never run below 7/2 on any of my memory. Have you tried 7/auto? Problems such as these don't really have any quick answers - you basically have to try to narrow the problem down through trial and error. It may just be that your dualcore simply isn't able to run as fast as your single ;) .........Quote:

Yup, for the most part, people seem to be able to avoid the cold-bug on x2's by running VapoLS's :DQuote:

could the drive and data strength be holding back an oc? i have no clue what that is and what it does, but when i get my chip i want nothing to hold back the oc except for tempsQuote:
