I am always using Winflash for flashing the bios. I used it with my old sli-dr board and for my curren Rdx200 board also. Bt the way I would like to pick one of these mobos soon to give it a try
Flashed with new bios currently with my 144 opteron at 3106mhz with a HTT of 345

When it comes to tight timings, this board is pretty hard to beat. Trfc = 11. Read preamble = 4ns. Using Mushkin Level 2's (2X512).

Tony, did you have any luck with Expert and cold bug CPUs? I spent the day dice benching with Expert trying to get past cold bug and had no luck.
Boot with all the ram tweaks etc in place but set a low clock etc and get into XP before it gets to cold, then clock with a64 tweaker and clockgen. Its a lot easier with phase but you may struggle with dry ice but its worth a shot.Quote:

Tony, do you have any feedback on that CF-BT board? Will it come out or has been placed aside?

Hmmm, no mention of how GREAT a FSB overclocker the Expert is :p:
PS: This puppy booted right to Windows at this speed:D

nice one
never even bothered to check that.....hehe
Very nice! I need to hook mine up. Its been sitting in the box since I got it..LOL
FARRRRRK, I looked at the CPU speed and thought to myself.....HMMM pretty average, then I saw the HTT and fell off my chair :fact:  :slobber:Quote:

Hiya Bro:)
On my original SLI-D it would boot to Windows at 425Mhz HTT and no higher. From there I had to use ClockGen to reach 500Mhz, and it was 100% stable. You can see those exploits from March here. This one will boot straight to Windows at 510Mhz HTT. The top stable speed is 505Mhz HTT where I've run 32M SuperPi's and Aquamark, 3D 03 and 3d05.
As far as the type of ram I used for my HTT testing, its listed in the CPU-Z Verification above:) To be Honest, running on the 100 divider it doesn't matter what you run, you're not testing memory bandwidth, just HTT capability:)
Randi:D
Any Inf ce-6 or be-5 2gb set(2x 1gb) accidentally will lost dual channel capability and never fixed? I have tried almost 10 sets. looks like it's just Infaneon IC problem with Expert.
Cold bug kicks in at -55 to -60 for my CPU. Boots fine at low speeds (2800Mhz) but cant touch clockgen without insta freeze. Running prime in the background allows me to bench and tweek all I want but benching while running prime is a waste of time lol. Was hoping Expert would help but I tried all 15 dr str settings, bunch of MALs, etc, no luck beating it. New CPU time I guess ;)Quote:

Hey Tony/BigToe/Anyone :)
Has anyone noticed the peculiar behaviour of actual ram MHz when using the 180 divider ??, look at the star marked entries below that were displayed while I was doing some preliminary testing on my 146 using the E704-2BT bios with my new Expert

* Wrong Setting for ram MHz
it's nothing wrong with the bios. it's a64 behavior.
most people assume it's fsb * divider = ram speed.
not true.
The athlon 64 memory clock is ALWAYS mem speed = cpu speed / memory divider.
what happens is when you select a memory speed in the bios...the cpu picks a memory divider that would be the closest for that cpu multiplier (it assumes 200 fsb).
EG.
2000 mhz cpu = 200 x 10.
for 200 mhz memory it picks a mem divider of 2000/10 = 200 mhz
for 183 mhz memory it picks a mem divider of 2000/11 = 181.8 mhz
for 166 mhz memory it picks a mem divider of 2000/12 = 166 mhz
for 133 mhz memory it picks a mem divider of 2000/15 = 133 mhz
but say change that to a 2200 mhz cpu (200 x 11).
for 200 mhz memory it picks a mem divider of 2200/11 = 200 mhz
for 183 mhz memory it picks a mem divider of 2200/12 = 183 mhz
for 166 mhz memory it picks a mem divider of 2200/14 = 157.1 mhz
for 133 mhz memory it picks a mem divider of 2200/17 = 127.4 mhz
the a64 will never pick a divider that will put the mem clock over the "target" speed.
In your case.. the cpu has picked an 11 divider
Now apply the 11 divider to your cpu speeds for the 180 setting..and it will all make sense.
