alas, my chip will need some more volts if i do.
heres a short prime at 257 but memtest ran over 4 hours while i slept.

i know its stable, just didn't want to waste time on a setting i wouldn't use.
oddly, i find test 5 and 7 are the most taxing on this ram. those are the only tests i've seen errors on throughout testing.
Week 15's are noted to overclock well but also to have a weak memory controller. My week 15 3200+ runs 2800Mhz completely stable but i've yet to have good luck with RAM and i've tested UTT-BH, TCCD, and now Micron.Quote:

My Ballistix Tracer

Quite nice!! It definitely does seem that the Tracer is better from the samples we've had.

Well, just ordered 2 1gb sticks of crucial value. I'll be sure and post my results. I got a GF7 today, and BF2 runs crappy at 1920*1200 and just high settings.
Rise, my 3700+ Sandy was having issues, I had to pull the IHS off, and redo the "goop", it had two VOIDS in it that lefta small spots on the CPU DRY!!!!
So the chip would do 250Mhz x10, but barely go past 2580Mhz....now redone with AS3, it does 2800Mhz on stock HSF just like my brothers....which came from the same wafer
Are those rams you are using these... NewEgg Mushkin 1G
I ordered a pair, we'll see how they do.
Worst case these will end up on our iRAM boards next month.
Why did you put the IHS back on?
thanks for the info uwackme. i got these mushkies-Quote:

i think i saw tiger had them for 219 recently.
what week is your 3700+? thats very interesting and also somewhat characteristic of my chip. my ceiling is a bit higher though, its 2750 or bust for me but i haven't hit it with more than 1.55v as my temps get too high and prime fails. if you think doing that would get me more i might need to PM you for instructions on that unless you have a handy link :)
btw, my initial steps into cl3 with this ram is more like what the reviewers said- it really doesn't want to get more than another 10-15mhz above where i'm at. but i haven't really played with it alot. i get a tooth pulled tomorrow afternoon so i'll have some time in my misery to test a bit more.
My curiosity is peaked.
Do u need it with a zalman?Quote:

I kept the IHS for safety sakes, I dont trust the accuracy of the stock HSF and dont want to risk hurting the core. People have tested and found very little difference between IHS and not.
My IDLE is low 30C's and max load is low 50C's, so Im happy...250Mhzx11 with stock retail HSF.
Im hoping the $179 2G Mushkins are also the -5B-D chips, the imge looks like it is, but worst case they'll end up on iRAM boards.
amazing tests on those....133MB/S on all tests, and 0.1ms access time  Perfect place for pagefile.
uwhackme i did a super close zoom shot of neweggs pic and compared it to crucial/micron chips and i can guarantee you the "picture" newegg shows deffinetly has micron chips on it. now what they sell i dunno

Will a Venice yield higher memory speed than an old NewCastle?
Well given their improved memory controller, they very well could. However if you have bad ram, you have bad ram...ain't nothin goin fix that.
hey enjoy. remember me? i love the X850XT!!!
i thought i might post this pic for you to drool over enjoy. :P well, you kinda already have one hehe.

I just wanted to say hello to you all, I have been reading posts for the last couple weeks since BF2 came out and I just knew since I like to fly and after noticing some lag it was time to upgrade.
I currently have a P4 3.4EE 1GB Corsair BH5 6800Ultra
Decided after forever being an Intel person it was time to give AMD a try, got them to sample me an FX-55 (just got it and it was a retail clawhammer so ebayed it) now ordered a San Diego FX-55
Have had the Crucial Ballistix Tracer 2GB module set for about 2 weeks now in my P4 board, I am running 210FSB and 2-2-2-5 with PAT enabled timings with absolutely zero issues with all testing memtest and in game testing.
I have on hand now the DFI NF4 Ultra-D (decided SLI was a waste at 20-50% increase in performance for 100% increase in video $$$) The new CPU should be here Tue or Wed next week
I am still waiting on Dell's backordered BFG 7800 GTX  but am hoping to see it soon. Also on my upgrade list got the 2405FPW for myself and my wife, she is getting my P4 3.4EE and 6800 ultra her P4 3.5 (overclocked) and FX 5900 is already sold so I am hoping the video card comes in quickly.
I am very anxious to report my results with all of you on my 2x1GB Ballistix Tracers, just so you know I tried to get inside info since my company is a Crucial reseller and I ordered direct at a discount they would not give any information on the ICs of the modules like it was top secret or something :D
I am hoping the FX-55 will be worthy of its reviews I've read and push the 7800 GTX to its limit @ 1920x1200 2-4X FSAA 8XAF
Can anyone tell me how important FSB is on the new boards? I remember the older benches of 3dmarks for Intel boards FSB ruled the benchmarks and FPS was increase significantly. Is it still that way? Should FSB be a bit more important than total CPU Ghz?
Sorry about the post in the above spot, I'm a pretty big noob to forums

Welcome to XtremeSystems Pentium777 ! :toast:
When you get it up and running post back with your results !
welcome pentium 777!!!
i am also looking for 2 pair of 1 gb ddr modules for my amd x2 system on prash change. It has to be good oc memory but i only seen crucial on this forum. Looks like crucial is the only 1 gb memory that clocks well ?
nice treath btw :)
srry english me bad Dutchmen :)
i had an eye on those 2gb kit from corsair the 1GB x 2 (2GB) PC3200 DDR, CL2 (Corsair TWINX2048-3200C2) , that cost only 260 euro.
