You should call Sparco up and ask the nice customer service people if you're in on the initial batch of 60. They're very nice people, really. :)
not necessary, read all the previous post, the 3500 Sandy suppose to be crippled just like the clawhammer, and base on theories they are suppose to be the 3700 or 4000 failure with defective cache or whatever, and capped down to 3500. At any rate, the core is still is San Diego, which I think should clock about the same as any other San Diego and Venice.Quote:

If so, it seems that Venice is still the No.1 budget OCer's chip.
Just called Sparco... the guy said AMD retracted the ETA for those 3700s.

nah...I doubt it, those CPU are ON THE WAY to their CA warehouse and 4/18/05 is the date they'll receive and ship them out, they did not get their stocks straight from AMD anyway. But if you have doubts you can always check the live availability of the 3700 Sandy HereQuote:

Not sure what time quicksilver talked to them, or if the sparco rep was quoting him availability for the NEXT shipment...but I'm holding out hope that Sparco isn't lying to those of us who got orders out of their first shipment...
Besides...the next best availability is Monarch showing the end of May? Even if these are delayed, it honestly can't be much worse than what Monarch is offering...
I called Sparco few hours after he made that comment and the Rep told me no such thing, he'd dismissed the comment of AMD retracting the ETA for those 3700 and said even if the shipping truck got delay for whatever reason it would of been only 1 day but no more than 2 days. and NO, Sparco did not get their shipment directly from AMD so AMD has no place in retracting anything unless they made a major recall. not sure where quicksilver got his infos from...Quote:

I'm thinking Ingram Micro is their distributor for almost everthing they carry. Anyone here in the forums who has a resale license cam start an account with IM and give us a better ETA.Quote:

I caved and ordered the 3700+ from Sparco. If they change the ETA I'm retracting with a quickness. /fingerscrossed
The way I see it, even if their ETA slips, it can't be worse that what Monarch and NCIX are offering...I'll keep my order with Sparco until I get some assurances that somebody else can get it to me sooner. So far in all my dealing with Sparco their Customer Service team has been really good, that counts for something in my book. But yeah.../pray.../fingerscrossed.../etc
Ordered the rest of my system last night, so hopefully everything can be here late next week and I can spend all weekend getting it up and going
It would be annoying if Monarch surprise shipped it to me on Monday, and so did Sparco...then I would have 2 3700+ San Diegos, and my motherboard can only fit 1...
Sometimes people get told different things.Quote:

that's funny, many people (including my colleagues at work) have been told they'll get their stuff on time and no later than 2 days delay, but so far Quick is the only one being told differently....Quote:

Yeah...myself and a couple other people ordered through Sparco and their CSR's have never waivered on the info they've given out...not saying I've got this guy's phone tapped and someone didn't tell him that...I would just tend to lean towards the rep quoting him availability on their next shipment...I've talked to at least 3 different people over there and none sounded like they had even the slightest doubt that it was comming in 4/18...so they're either being reassured that it will be there 4/18 or they're all really really good liars! While it's entirely possible that we're all being set-up for disappointment here, I'm going to go with it for now...not like they've already got my money and I'm going to see one at Circut City next week and kick myself for preordering.
I see on monarch they have preorders for 3700 e steppings a boxed and an oem I am assuming. The boxed one says system bus is 2000 and the oem is 1600 is this a misprint? also they both run at 2400mghz so whats the diff between them and a 4000+? since they are both listed as 939s?
3700 is 2.2ghz (11x multi)
4000 is 2.4ghz (12x multi)
bus is same
Monarch has alot of typos on their listings
3700+ is 2.2ghz, 11x multiplier
4000+ is 2.4ghz, 12x multiplier
ada3700bnbox is the PIB, ada3700daa5bn is OEM...nothing is different about the two chips other than one comes with a HSF and a 3yr warranty...both have a 2000mhz bus...when they entered the info for the new San Diego core 3700+ chips, they were lazy and copied alot of spec info off the older s754 mobile 3700+
Which San Diego is everyone planning to order?
Looks like the 3700+ is the one everyone seems to like?
for the price diff Im gonna get the 3700 then. I cant see that much ocing diff happening between the two. I would be willing to bet the 3700 will oc as high or very close to a 4000, dont you think?
