Good price on them cards.

The egg has them in but it shows in the pics as a ref card with normal nvidia stock cooler. Wonder if they actually come as the ones like yours... the copper full flavour MSI stock heatsinks. I wonder if its the same with other manufacturers too.

That's an interesting point... The pic at gameVE has the green PCB card with the ref card sink and such.. like newegg... but I got the awesome rev2 card. I was very happy. :) I was also thinking I might get one of each... in which case I would be very interested to see how well SLI would be... perhaps a bios flash to match them better... heck, I might have to do that anyways... I'd have to call my machine "The Malimute" or something (like when the Huskies have one blue eye and one white one, heh)...

So, gameve is showing the ref board but shipping these... not sure about the egg... but I reccon they might be doing the same. :)

took a few more pics tonight.... now I am really eager to get the rest of my machine!! ...check the fan speed slider on the top of each card. nice little touch... :)

are those pci slots usable? the orange one is for a wifi card right? when its up and running can u see if u can have a pci slot filled and see what it does to the temps of the GT? maybe u can have 1 slot filled, if those were ultras, i dontthink any pci slots could be used or they would block airflow

yeah -- I think I could fit one card with the GTs, but not the Ultras... The onlt card I plan on using in this machine, other than the GTs is this

EDIT: this mobo does have an onboard creative SB live 7.1 with SPDIF and the whole shibang... so no need for sound card... I hear the sound it really good also, not affected by the mobo... this will be the first time I have used onboard sound... wow. :)

Very nice to see the 2 MSI 6800GT's sitting on a MSI board there revenant. Also the idea for the fan sliders is a neat idea. That adjust fan speed then ? Is this just a feature with MSI 6800 SLI cards?

Opp has the 2k1 via CPU power+ram+gpu combo

The Fin's have the edge from some "OK ;)" 6800's that rock almsot 650mhz core :)

I thought it would be fitting, MSI mobo, MSI cards! MSI fan boy here.. lol... Hopefully this will also maximize stability... but I doubt they design theirs cards to be more stable with their mobos... but you would hope they will play well together.. yeah, that slider controlls the fan speed... check it out -

looks a little "cruddy" on the inside from the air bubles trapped under the decals... I am going to blow these cards out thoroughly before turning them on for the first time... I noticed some of the packing foam all stringy on one of them when I pulled it out of the container for the first time...

Be cool to see OPP have a go with GT's. Some of the best scores are coming from these unexplainably. I know there is tighter mem timings but still confusing. I think nV gets good yields. It seems the only thing holding the AGP guys back was it's power hungry nature. It seems like almost every NV40 can run 16ps/6vs @ 400 MHz+. I know we're actually looking for 400+++++++.

but does owning a super ownage cooling system allow for you to get free computer parts (for testing,overclocking etc)?

No, being in first place allows you to get free parts, but most of them arnt free even if you are.

(Although right after I bought my first cascade I got like 3 PMs from companies wanting to sell me stuff rather cheaply, but I think it was a conicidence)

Well having good resources may result in manufacturers sending you samples or full releases of motherboards or what ever for testing. The user has the right stuff and skill to max out the hardware and report back to the manufacturers how it performs and action may be taken on what the results are if the motherboard already isnt released fully. Im sure you become to have contacts over time and build up good relationships with manufacturers and accquire sponcers over time.

They 'lend' you the product, you max it out to its and yours best capabilities, the news goes around on forums and wesbsites that such record or accomplishment has been broken or made... people get very intrested in the hardware used and it leads to other users to buy the manufacturers product.
