hey guys,
so here are my results of 1,8(pin mod, 1,6 Vcore) Dothan with the Aopen i855 board and with my ocz bh-6(no vdimm mod, so i must use stock voltage :( )

Welcome to XtremeSystems, nice pi time.
Seems crazy when the CPU's barely use 50 watt when extremely overclocked, but anyone tryed making a throttle watch journal? I think there is some varying results... could it be the CPU is boiling inside and then throttles?
Can be downloaded here - to start and stop journal recording press F5. Output will come in a .txt. Don't know if you are familiar with the software

1.7@ 2234 (1.37V), passive cooling, temps after 20mins of farcry (increased the Vcore just to get some more heat out of it):

no throttling
>>> kyosen do you still think Aopen>DFI if they are both unmodded?
--
Hmmm...Yes, though I have little interest for unmodded boards;)
AOpen has Pen4-semi-compatible retention frame = wide space.
DFI's space around CPU socket is too tight for larger heatsink...
>> Anyone know if the "infamous" 25s @ 2800mHz on AIR
>> x-86 secret superPi was a PATCHED result???

Yes, SSE3 patch is not available for Dothan,
but SSE2 patch is effective...though it's not enough for 25s@2.8G ;)
Now thats a burn in for ya :D
All this Dothan fun is making me want to get one...
Hmmmm....Quote:

It depends on FSB:DRAM ratio.
Stalker's 31s@2665MHz is not slow, as 3:4 ratio.
Default Vdimm is about 2.6V, and is not enough for over 200MHz DRAM clock,
even if we use good BH-5.
...Booster or Vdimm-mod is must :)
Thanks Kyosen...
I'll have the DFI tommorrow, but no CPU....
I'll be doing the pin mod, Vagp/Vddr mods and trying some Dry Ice on it.
Unfortunately I have NO CPU....
REALLY wish I knew WHERE I could get a Dothan sometime before Monday!!!!!!!!!

Where did you get your mobo from? I cant find anywhere that will ship to canada, and none of the online stores here have it in stock.Quote:

Ncix doesnt have the AOpen mobo in stock, and the DFI is on 2 week order. bytewiz has the aopen but its 50$ more than ncix. Should I preorder the aopen off ncix and see what happens?
Which one is better? The reason im leaning towards the aopen is because I heard the ddr booster kills the dfi. Is there a vdimm mod for the dfi?
NCIX told me 4-5 days on my DFI.
New DFI 855 bios that supports 133FSB
http://www.dfi.com.tw/Support/Downlo...FLAG=B&SITE=US
Might have to copy and paste that link
But WHERE are the 133fsb CPU's??????
Does the new DFi BIOS support OC like the x-86 BIOS????
Higher Overclockability than before??

Why would any overclocker want those?Quote:

Couldn't find proper dipswitches for the VID-mod so I unsoldered some pins and jumpers off a dead mobo :D
Figured I'd only need VID adjustements for 0-3 (1.468 - 1.708V) so I grounded 4 and 5 for starters.
Here's a piccy of somewhat finished mod (VID-mod and FB-adjustement):

(you can also see the 2G chip which I stole from the stilt ;))

Now its time for some :toast: :D
May be "better silicon"....Quote:

Macci, did you try the pin-wrap/wire-socket Vmod? you know, the VID>VSS mod?? Up to 1.708V avail on DFI, too :D
C
Ive done the core mod and the "booster mod" and now breaking 2.7Ghz 226hz DDR 2-2-2-5
The booster mod involves blowing out the existing voltage regulation on the mobo and depending on the booster to provide voltage to the memory.
I have tested up to 3.3v so far.
28.3K with stock video card speed.

Nice work, macci, and "booster mod" is interesting, FUGGER!!
Here, my DFI's Vdimm&Vagp(or chipset?) mod based on x86-secret info:

Thanks Kyosen, what cooling are you using?
I believe that screen answers Charlies super pi question.
Also whats the "Maro" running, I havent seen that before.
has any one tried a dothan with a phase change system? :D
Im still getting up to speed before I bolt up the phase change.
Wow, interesting results. What's the world record superpi 1m? Looks like were coming close to beating it..
Fugger, what is the performance of a 2.7ghz FX51/53/55 with x800xtpe stock? How does it compare to the dothan?
