Mine flashed just fine with thugs LE to Ultra bios. With the 1.4v bios i get 435/1200 artifact free, Gonna try the 1.5v tomorrow.

oh and please report back what evga made of that rma you have going now. also is there anything on the package / card (whatever) that declares this card as a evga 325/700 instead of the 325/1100 stated on the zipzoom page, like a sticker on the box or some text on the box or any way? because i would need to have my friend looking for this when he receives my card.

The box looks the same, it's an ultra box with limited edition stickers all over. The only thing regarding memory is that is lists that it has 1.6ns gddr3 which it definatly does not.Quote:

This is really weird why would EVGA rename Ultra's and sell them cheaper? I thought these things were hard enough to buy @ 600 let alone 300.
Oh and on the back of the Box it says "EVGA.com e-Geforce 6800 Ultra graphics card"

ok, well I just finished talking to the guy. First he put me on hold and said 'I need to go consult the engineers in the lab' and then he comes back 5-10 min. later and says that he will contact me later (through e-mail) and he needs to go down to the lab and ask the engineers about it. he also said there is an 'update' for it. I'm assuming a bios flash which, I really don't care about because 1.) I can't flash a bios right now cause my floppy drive isn't working and 2.) all a bios flash is going to do is set the default speed at a very artifacty 1100mhz for me I would think. It's now 1:20est I'll call them back around the end of the day, anyone know when they close? and ask if I havn't heard anything abck from them.
Also zipzoomfly sent me an e-mail about my rma request, but I'd much rather deal with evga, since I do not want to have to send my card in through the slow mail, pay for the costs, wait for zipzoomfly to take a look at it, wait for another 4 days for them to process it, and then ship it out with a chance that I'll ahve the same thing happen again.
Didn't you read the above posts? One of them said that the original 6800 LE bios cripples OCing and flashing to an Ultra bios fixes that.Quote:

Well I know that the le bios cripples the overclock, but I'd assume it'd beable to run stock, and I havn't heard of the bios crippling the memorys overclock. Plus it just bugs me that it came at 700mhz, something is wrong with that.
My floppy drive is connected fine, my mobo llists that it's connected, but it dosn't read disks I don't think, because it will nnot boot from the floppy drive, and in windows it says 'please insert disk' when I try to read a disk.
Should I make a new topic for my 6800 le, or just leave it here? I don't see a point in making one now since most has been said, and it might be nice to keep it all together in one le thread. But then almost a full page is taken with my one problem.
Flip the floppy cables around, if it says Please insert disk it means that FDC is either disabled or your floppy isn't connected properly. Unplug and replug everything for the floppy.Quote:

Um do you have a CD writer, or flash disk, you can make a bootable CD or bootable flash disk.
I have a cd burner, but no blank cd's that I know of. I can get one/some and I think I have a cd-rw somewhere. I was just thinking that. And I found out my floppy drive never did work. My friend gave it to me because he never used it, just found out he didn't use it because it didn't work lol. And I've tried to make a bootable cd before, but I could never get the files onto the cd.. well I couldn't get the files. Only way I know to do it is to make a windows floppy disk or w/e (by right clicking and there's some option) and then just coppying those files from the floppy disk to the cd.
if I do use a bootable cd, how can I save my current bios? Since you can't write to the cd from dos. I would really like to beable to back that up in case I do need to rma it. Maybe I will borrow my friends floppy drive later. And I have one somewhere, but I have no idea where.
well the booting from floppy process got nothing to do with windows. either your cable is on the wrong way (at either of the two ends - just 4 combinations possible ;) ) or it is disabled in the bios. this might be via two possibilities. a) you disabled the fdc (floppy) controller or b) you don't have the floppy in your bootsequence. hm might aswell be c) the floppy is disabled in the standard bios settings (usually first page where the hdd's and the time is listed) or d) search for floppy is disabled (some advanced page, where the fdc-controller stuff is on). oh or the drive itself might be barfed, but that's pretty seldom the case. atm i'm using a 3.5" drive that is hm.. was taken out of an old 486sx40 - go figure (at least 10 years old) and it's all dusted, but still working.
oh and regarding creating a topic for your own kinda special 6800le ultra be (barfed edition), i'd say just keep it in here... it's family kinda :)
no, I know everything is working right, it's the first boot device, it is detected by my motherboard, and I don't see how you can connect things the wrong way? They only go in one way, but even the light is shown lit up on the floppy drive, so it has power, and the ide cable only goes one way, and my mobo detects it. It just does not read disks, my friend had the same problem I guess.
And.... I'm taking this thread over it looks like :)
But does anyone think flashing it to an ultra or a gt would really help with the memory clocks? I find that kind of wierd, it's worth a try, but I'm skeptical there will be a diff. If there is then thats great tho.
Core clockwise this card is awsome from my impressions with the le bios, 400mhz easily stable, and the hottest it's ever gotten was 53c I think. I'm running only at 42c right now, and after playing doom 3 for 30+ min. it was at only 47c. I'm really impressed with these temps. I wonder if the voltage is even 1.4v now that I think about it, I can't get the core to artifact, it'll just freeze in games at about 415-425, maybe it's not getting enough voltage, same thing could be with the memory, which is why it won't clock right too.
edit: ambient is always between 30-32c btw
what is the best 1.1/1.4 bios for oc'n these cards? I heard that some messed them up...
and what proggy that runs in windows is used to flash?

your floppy cable is in wrong!!! the side with the red ribbon needs to be on a specific side of the power connector....red ribbon = pin 1. make sure pin 1 and pin 1 on the connector are lined up on both your motherboard and floppy drive.
I know how to plug in a floppy drive! And there is only one way to plug it in, I don't see how you can plug it in any other way, there are tabs on the end of the ide cables that only let them go in one way. I've used floppy drives before, I doubt this one is any different

well my card arrived at my friends place in chicago, but he has no pc to test it (only some old pentium pro with no agp) or some mac or laptops. argh. i'm trying to make him test it at a friends. but all his friends are mac-tards.. doh.
