Installed my 2,4A on my old P4C800 and did the droop mod for the first time. I used a max Vcore of 1,5875 in BIOS
The result
http://66.97.34.139/spi31seg4300.jpg
Not bad for a € 150,00 CPU
Need to find a way of increase vcore out of the BIOS. Any suggestion?
what kind of cooling are you running?

DOOM III graphics can't match HL2...Quote:

Its not as impressive.
John Carmack = God.
Soulburner, did u already played any of the Doom 3 betas? They're very good, indeed the light effects are awsome.
Bye,
Jorge Lopes
set the bios to 1.6v.. and turn the droop mod pot down...Quote:

i got 1.69v that way.
Thanks dpa, it works;) ;)
Some 3Dmark01 result:
cpu@ 4244
radeon 9800 Pro, default and stock cooler
21.518 Marks
Not too shabby...pretty good for a $150 chip.
You're kidding right? The game runs like crap, and the lighting was dark as hell... Flash lit looks more like a laser beam, lighting is horrible and color is decayed..l I'm hoping the full version is much better. But still I have to give HL2 the graphics award, because DOOM 3 doesn't look as real. EVerything in the game is stuck on the wall. The physics is weak.Quote:

Bye,

Also, I hope that video wasn't prerendered...
OK I got one for my spare PC. Only had it a few hours. I was impressed with the SuperPI scores you guys are getting. At stock speeds it's really nothing special ... LOL But thats not why we got it is it.
It has beaten my Athlon64 3400+ so far which at stock speeds of 2.2 Ghz 200 FSB mem 2-2-2-11 scored 40 Seconds. This sucker at only 188 FSB 3.38 Ghz mem 2-2-2-5 is already at 39 Seconds. Looking good

Whats ur max stable and volts?
Max for 3dmark 4250 (car high). Superpi 4380.
1,6V in Bios. 1,68 V in mbm with droop mod
Video was not pre rendered. That's some of the John Carmack magic :D.Quote:

omg, my Ai7 board really sucks with this prescott.
vcore ALL over the place. 1.59 to 1.7v under load. mosfet temps with fan is 60 C.
On my AI7 the Abit EQ is reporting PWM temps of 70-72'C under Prime95. Put a 80mm fan directly over mosfets+caps above CPU and it drops to 48'C !!! Ouch.
And i hope you remember that the beta is over 2 years old.Quote:

The AI7 is really not a good board for the Prescott. I've read a lot of people having problems esp with mosfet cooling with that combo. You may want to see how hot those are getting. Edit never mind I see that you've already noticed that problem
pkrew I also have an Abit IC7 - you recon I should rather run it on there then ?
LOL hl2 any good, are you joking they are even giving it away free with sapphire cards, just to try make it look like they have sold alot for when it comes out :rotf:
The IC7 would probably handle the prescott a lot better. From what I've read the mosfets don't get as hot with it. It all depends on how much vcore you're giving it. If you go over to overclockers and search through the Intel section there's a couple of good threads about the IC7 and AI7 and presscottQuote:
