checked regedit... values where already at 0 :(
reinstalled drivers and still bsod...
btw, the first test i made i managed 910MHz on stock voltages rock solid (tested with OCCT GPU).
then, when i started testing the memory i found this problem :(
thanks anyway, will keep trying.

Looking nice my freind now go put that singelstage on that Gfx card !
This is XFX 6870
overclocking on Standard Stock Cooling:D
Ok, so I have been playing with my XFX HD6870's and unfortunately I cannot adjust the voltage with MSI AB nor can I go above 1000Mhz on the GPU and 1250 on the memory. The best I have been able to do is 1000Mhz on the GPU and 1223Mhz on the memory before I start getting stuttering during a vantage run. I am assuming this is at stock voltages since I cannot adjust that. However, I have ran into another issue besides the ones mentioned above. When I do a full Vantage run (not just GPU tests) Vantage will error out with some strange code that I haven't been able to find via Google, I will have to post it later, but it only happens on the CPU tests. I have tested my overclock via OCCT Linpack and it passed two different times. I have the latest patch of Vantage, so if anyone has any ideas any help would be great. Also, if I do the "EnableUnofficialOverclocking" mod to MSI AB, will that enable voltage adjustments also? I remember on my HD5870 I had to flash it to an Asus bios to achieve this, but it would be nice to not too have to do this.
By the way, this was my 3DMark06 run I did at 1000/1223:
http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dm06=14992934
Score was 27860
So I can do full runs in 3DMark06, just not Vantage.
Here is my GPU only test in Vantage at the same test:
http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dmv=2707388
GPU score was 30530.

Already disabled ULPS. Going to try the Beta version of MSI AB later tonight. Still not sure about the CPU side failing in Vantage though.
When u downclock the cpu a bit, will it pass cpu-vantage?
It does, but since I passed OCCT Linpack twice, I figured the CPU was stable enough for Vantage runs, plus it can do 3DMark 06 at that speed with no issues. I will post the code I get when it fails, hopefully someone will know what it means.
Thanks again for the help Bullu$.
Here is the error code:
Function:_thiscall eva::physics::novodex::system::system(void)
Any ideas?
Tried reinstalling Vantage, but same issue. From what I have read it's a physx issue, but I am not running Nvidia cards anymore. I did a driver sweeper before installing my ATI cards twice just to make sure all Nvidia drivers were gone, but I am not sure what I need to do about this.
ah they old nvidia to ati card problem rears its ugly head...not sure what to do, research issue stemming from running nvidia then switching to ati cards. sorry thats probably not much help

Did u installed the patch for vantage?1.02
Try to diable ppu in the settings for vantage and cpu test Vantage is a lot "heavier" than 3dm06.
So downclocking your cpu is ok?no errors?
Yeah, I have a score from just stock, so it must not have had any errors. I have ran about 20 tests so far. Got the beta MSI and did the trick you said to do, so now I can go above 1000/1250 on the overclock, so far just did 1050/1223, but I will play around with it tomorrow, got a sick kid to deal with tonight. As far as the error goes, I have an idea I will try then too and I will retest it at stock, just doesn't make sense that it would run at stock and not overclocked on the CPU unless it was unstable, but Linpack should have shown that.
Thanks again everyone.
drop the score up on http://hwbot.org/ Plz :)
liking this card alot better than my 5770, it has been a great upgrade so far and i can play games more smoothly...especially metro 2033 :p
still feeling my way around the 6870, i havent had to much time with it yet... i like the afterburner voltage monitoring and
when i overclock it still backs down to low power in 2d desktop mode (100/300) nice!
now my fan wont ramp up when im in the desktop :p

I use cat 10.10d what you use ? (all)
I ran a test with EK vga block yesterday, it gave no more room to oc a 1110 which I can run with original cooler, just make a temp load 54 load, instead of 74 at high oc on air.
OC'in my HIS 6870....right now i have it set at 1.225v 1000/1150
how do i get it to downclock when im in 2d desktop mode? its stuck at the above settings
im using msi afterburner 2.1 beta 4
i have 10.10e hotfix installed
