OK I've just obtained a UD( mobo  It costs less than a Rampage 3 Extreme where I live !!!
Now I need to get an XL-ATX case to replace me crappy TT spedo !!!
Bump. Having some really annoying issues with my UD9.
First, it goes into 88 when trying to boot back from sleep with my 24/7 settings.
Second, it gets upset sometimes and goes into 88.
Third, it can't push my memory past 1800 with the 10x multi, even though they're rated for much more (and have done it on my RIIIE.
Any suggestions? I just tried 200 BCLK with 2000 8-8-8 on the memory and 3200 on the uncore. It just resets after one or two loops, no BSOD or anything. Sometimes the screen just freezes.
Any ideas?
Send it to me so I can check it out for you!
I'm sure I can narrow it down, if you just give me a week or two to play with it :D
Seriously now!!
Ok, really I'll try to help now I guess since you wont send over the board :(
88 isn't good man! How long has it been since you did an extended clear CMOS? I'd do that now for 8 hours and then see how it acts after that.
For 2000Mhz memory, you want to have uncore at least 3.4-3.6, ideally 3.6 or above really.
I still really think you ought to send it to me and then I can tell you for sure what it needs for what clocks :)
I'll try kicking it up to 3600 on the uncore, but it didn't work on my 950 with 4000MHz uncore either.
I did get the board open box and I've had this issue since day one. Maybe it was legitimately messed up.
I'm afraid Gigabyte might not be able to replicate the issue, though.
Well 3.6 should be easily doable, 4Ghz with 950 would have been a little tougher.
You are right, it was open box so it could have some problems. You should give it to me as open open box now :)
Let me know if you are ever gonna get rid of it again, and I'll try to save up to get it from you.
Ohh hey, don't forget to try the extended clear CMOS while you sleep.
I'll let you know. Watching one last episode of 30 Rock before sleep!
Does anyone know if this board is discontinued? Everyone seems to be out of stock. IF it is - what's next with Gigabyte and the 1366?
This.
UD9 was a limited editon, a trial project to see if interest was high enough : for gamers GB got the G1 series coming up or the above mentioned Orange OCing board
Is it just me or is it darn near impossible to get 4000MHz uncore stable with a Bloomfield chip using this board??? I have a W3540 that can do DDR3-2000/4000MHz uncore with 1.40~1.45v VTT on Asus and EVGA but this UD9...I just get reboots when I run 8x HyperPi 32M. Am I just being retarded?
Never send Super Talent Speed or Patriot Viper II to do Dominator GT's job.

All kits are Hyper-based, but I only seem to get joy with the GTs on the high-end boards (E762, R3E, UD9). Lower end (UD3R, P6X58D) seem to work okay with the other kits.
On the earlier BIOSes you had to set around 1.50VTT to get 1.40VTT at the north side of the socket under a 100% 12 thread load. If GBT haven't messed around with the voltage tables in later BIOS releases this could explain your problem. I've got a partial excel table here with Voffset shown if you need it.

It turns out it wasn't VTT but the memory I was using. For whatever reason the newer high end X58 boards don't like my STT or Patriot DDR3 kits (Elpida Hyper-based). For whatever reason though they work just fine with Hyper-based Dominator GT.
Check the subs on the STT's etc, tFAW and others can be set much tighter than the GT's (tFAW 32 on the STT's vs 40 on the GT's)
Looking for some super high quality overclock RAM (3x 2GB) for my Gigabyte X58-UD9 board which will be running a 990x at sub-zero.
What is the top dog these days for the UD9? Dominator GT's? Any particular model
Would going from 3x 2GB to 3x 4GB hamper over clock ability greatly? What 3x kits would you guys recommend for 6GB and 12GB for the UD9?
Just got this board, are there any quirks or preferred bios/settings with a 970? (A quick skim of the thread didn't reveal anything too obvious)
I'm a total idiot. All this time I thought my STT sticks were crap, turns out I was setting the subtimings too tight. They didn't like tRFC=88 and/or 1N command rate. The auto settings below passed HyperPi 32M:

Anyone know of any places where they might have any UD9's left? Or will i have to wait for the OC line to get a top of the line GB board??
