I misunderstood you, looking at the error message you've posted I see you're using the full installer to update the program, the file AppProfiles.dll often gets locked by another processes during the update causing the error. You can try the auto-update to see if it works without giving an error about that file.
Updates
10/30/2010 - New build 1.0.10.4
Important: due to an updated file that can't be updated using the Auto-updater feature, download the full installer and install over the top of you current installation.
If you update the program using the Auto-update you won't be able to start the program again, in that case the reinstallation using the full installer will restore functionality.
- Fixed: working directory is now used when Play is selected from profiles list context menu
- Fixed: screenshot function not working on some games (e.g. HAWX DX10, HAWX DX11, World of Warcraft DX11)
- Fixed: character textures do not load in World of Warcraft when using DX11
- Fixed: Global profile settings inherited by profiles don't get applied at game startup
- New: RadeonPro automatically activate MLAA and new features presented by Catalyst 10.10a/10.10c when the driver is detected at program's startup time
- New: Support for Morphological Filtering (MLAA) and other Catalyst 10.10a/c features (HD 5000/HD 6000 only)
- New: AMD Radeon logo can be displayed on D3D games (single and multi GPU)
- New: RadeonPro now watches for forced vsync option, if the profile enforces vsync always on and frame rate goes over the refresh rate, the program will give the user an option to try another API detection method the next time the profile is used
- New: Graphics hardware information - click on ATI Radeon icon at bottom of program's window to view your graphics hardware data
- Changed: Driver compatibility DLL files are always copied when selected
- Enhanced: The New Profile Wizard now shows only relevant options depending on video card (no more SuperSampling settings on HD 4000 series cards, for example)

hi, first off, great tool. i've been using it quite successfully for Mass Effect 1 & 2 to force SSAA.
Now, a few things to comment on:
1. Sometimes when I minimize radeonpro, play some games, then go back to desktop, I cannot restore the window when clicking on it on the taskbar. I have to use the system tray icon to restore it.
2. If I right click on the system tray icon to exit the app, how can I disable that popup that asks me if I am sure? Of course I'm sure I want to close it. That's why I clicked it...
3. Even when I check "do not remember recently played list in jumplist" under Settings, it does not obey.
4. Under Global, Advanced tab, CrossfireX settings. Since I don't want any logos to show, I unchecked both boxes. Then I attempted to uncheck the CrossfireX settings box. Can't uncheck it. Strange. Then I click over to select my game profile. Under the Advanced tab and CrossfireX settings, all boxes there are unchecked. Shouldn't the two correspond?
See my attached screens.
Thanks!
Anyway, for updating the software, how about using batch files to kill the processes, and silently uninstall and re-install the software? Mine just broke on me after update and I had to uninstall it and then reinstall it to make it work. Sometimes using an external program helps and well.. command prompt always comes with windows ;)
@darkchart:
For problem number 4, by default everything in Global has the first box checked. Try unchecking for example, the Mipmap quality in Global. You won't be able to.
As for the profiles, you can tick the box next to 'Crossfire Settings' if you want profile-specific settings for that particular settings. It's by design. If you don't tick them, it will stick to Global for that particular settings.
Thanks for testing RadeonPro :)
About your comments:
1. I'll try to reproduce it. Do you play in a different resolution from your desktop?
2. You can't, it will ask you everytime. Nothing that can't be changed in a future build, however.
3. Please make sure the option is actually disabled (I mean, checked in settings). I just tried to disable JumpList feature and recently played games are no longer updated.
4. blindbox already answered that, thanks blindbox :)
Batch files for re-install would require admin rights, besides that recent problems have been fixed so I don't think we should be worried about it, just the last version had this file (Localization.dll) that could not be updated and newer builds will be fine (hopefully :P)
Talking about newer builds, that's what I'm planning for the next one:
- Improved detection of new Catalyst 10.10 features
- OpenGL support for OSD functions
- Better management of compatibility drivers repository
- Wizard fixes and other small interface bug fixes
And if I can get them to work properly:
- New OSD functions
I want to try the new Morphological AA
I have a 5850 and Ati 10.10d drivers. CCC is not installed
I opened RadeonPro and it asked if I wanted to enable extra stuff like MLAA. Clicked Yes
Unfortunately "Enable Morphological Filtering" always seems to be grayed out, and I can't enable it
The program doesn't ask anymore about the new features at startup?
Although I only tested with 10.10c, I think it should work with 10.10d too. Please click the ATI Radeon logo at bottom of program's window and copy the system info (right-click an item and choose Copy all), then post here.
Thanks.
1. no. however, i think i can narrow it a bit down some more. the problem usually comes up when i have my 1080p tv connected which is diff res than desktop (1920x1080 vs 1920x1200) so maybe that's where the disconnect is occurring?
2. cool thanks.
3. yes, i have that option checked in the settings menu, but maybe i misunderstand. i am expecting it to erase all previous entries in addition to not creating new entries. from what you wrote, i interpret that to mean "only new entries will not be created henceforth". is this correct interpretation?
thanks once again for your hard work!

Also, if I click 'Check for updates' then the "enable morph filtering" becomes selectable sometimes. But if I switch to another profile and back to that, it doesn't save the setting I dont think
Using 1.0.10.4
Experiencing the same issue - MLAA is greyed out. Cat 10.10c, 5870 Crossfire, 1.0.10.4.
MLAA working fine here with Cat 10.10d beta and latest RadeonPro using crossfire 5850's.
If its not working for you, I recommend you remove RadeonPro and your current Cat drivers and re-install both again.
cat v10.10d, RP v1.0.10.4, 5850 CF, cat AI advanced, MLAA greyed out in global and all profiles.
Working fine for me. I'll post screens when I get home from work as proof.
Every time I see this thread I think "Automating Overclocking process"
just wanted to update
MLAA option is now available in global and profiles for my 5850CF after uninstall of cat v10.10d and RP 1.0.10.4 and install of cat v10.10e and RP 1.0.10.4
Wow, what are you trying to do with the site? Looks great though
Just trying to fund RadeonPro's development, unfortunately it can't be done only with donations... by the way, although donations were good at the first 3 months, in the last 3 there was only 5 donations averaging US$ 11, or about US$ 3.66/month. Of course no one is obligated to donate though and I'm not complaining ;)
By the way, here's the last updates :)
Updates
11/29/2010 - New build 1.0.11.0
- Fixed: AMD logo not being displayed under some conditions
- Fixed: Global profile not restoring some properties due to missing values in XML file. Global profiles are now rebuilt at startup when new settings are introduced by the driver and their values are missing in currently saved global profile
- Fixed: under certain circunstances LOD adjustment are set to incorrect values (incorrect integer value instead of decimal)
- Fixed: Xfire tool crashes at startup
- New: RadeonPro can take screenshots preserving MLAA filtering. Works with D3D8/9/10/10.1/11 (turn on the option in settings before using, it's disabled by default due to performance and compatibility questions)
- New: introducing OpenGL support for OSD functions (screenshots, benchmarks, etc.)
- New: AMD Radeon logo can be displayed on OpenGL games (single and multi GPU)
- New: scripting commands to start programs synchronously and to read from registry. See Scripting Guide to learn more
- New: Community feature - find and share tips about game profiles (postponed to next release)
- Enhanced: program settings, custom compatibility profiles and custom driver compatibility settings can be saved/restored using the backup/restore features
- Changed: removed Shell references to make the program Windows XP compatible again (some features and functionalities may still be missing, however)
- Changed: improved settings dialog for easy visualization
Yeahhh, RP users will be able to upload their profiles and share them to other community users, I also planning a score system to reward the users with good participation to, from time to time, raffle some steam game keys and other digital goods as a bonus :yepp:
BTW, I just posted about the lack of donations and some nice guy just sent a fat donation to my paypal account! Thank you, M.T.
What would be awesome, if my monitors stayed in their 3x 1920x1200 single monitor desktop extended mode, and when I launched a game, switched to 5760x1200 eyefinity, and when the game was closed, back to 3x 1920x1200 single monitor desktop extended mode
-is that possible to implement?
You can do it using the scripting feature and 2 CCC profiles, one for the Eyefinity and other for the 3x 1920x1200 extended monitors. After creating the CCC profiles, create a profile for your game in RP and go to the Scripts tab. Inside it, on Pre-start tab, select the Load CCC profile from the template dropdown and on text box right below change the profile name to your Eyefinity profile you've created in CCC, then select the Post-finish tab and do the same for the single monitor extended desktop.
Just fire the game and see if it works. If it doesn't work you may try to change the script Run command to RunAndWait.
Take a look here to see what a Rage3D user did.
Is there anyway I can use RadeonPro to switch to 24hz when I play an mkv?
Oh, and a bit of feedback. I have to disable the API detection thingy otherwise RP causes instability with BC2. Mainly with xfire not working randomly.
