Great work Lonkny. Turned out great.
Allot of hardware in there but still turned out clean. Very well done ;)
Yes it is screwed to the case. I had a 17mm spacing feser that I had no real use for but didnt want to sell it so I had a real hard time finding a template, so I just used the fan outlay while attached to the rad and traced it out on the bottom of the case. Then I measured out the fan holes and drilled them out
I took a 117mm hole saw and went to town on the first hole and the second hole was half meshed alu, so no chance using the hole saw there. I used a set of really sharp side cutters to remove the alu mesh that was in the way and used the trusty dremel to remove the rest.
Then used the supplied feser rubber fan gaskets in between the rad and the case and another set on the fans and used the shortest supplied fan mount screws to mount the rad to the case and through the fan blade protectors so the rad was protected.
I think it turned out fantastic.
One thing I found out is this case becomes extremely flimsy without the bottom HD cage assy without the sides on. I would be afraid to lift the case with a full LCed system without the sides on. I even replaced the rivets I had drilled out in the front of the case and still quite unstable.
Thanks turtletrax... But - you haven't seen pics of the other side :) trying to clean up the wiring a bit more but I think I almost hit a wall on it (literally!)... as long as I can close up the back side panel without it bulging I'll be happy... that was a big issue with my 800D last build... you are right - there is a lot of hardware which in turn means crazy amount of cabling (~ 10 temp sensor cables going to the BigNG / Analog Sensor Hub alone!)... it's been quite the challenge.
I was barely able to do so when I assembled it all together last week. There was so much cabling the side panel bulged badly.
I threw out couple of fan adapters, pulled out fan wiring out of their plastic shell and connected the wiring directly to the PSU.
Managed to close it without bulging just barely then, it went out about maybe 1mm to the front mask of the case though.
Though, it is far away from the eyes and from the mind too, what lies beneath the right side panel ;)
It looks great
Have you considered mounting the rad on the right side panel, like guys do in I'd say most of their worklogs, and why you opted against it?
That way you would probably be able to add another 240mm rad. Think that even 360 could fit down there?
So, removing the HDD cage makes the case structurally weak? Thanks for pointing that out, I wouldn't have thought of that.
Just finished moving my system into it's new home last night (from a cramped Antec P182 to the behemoth 800D). Did a few upgrades along the way as well - an extra quad radiator, shrouding, lots of new fans, a new pump, EK block for my 480 GTX, etc.
All the great rigs here have really inspired me. While mine isn't as flashy as some, I'm very happy with how it's turned out. The 800D case is a monster. It should also double nicely as a space heater this winter... :D

I decided against that style of mounting because I did not want to cut the side panel to get fresh air in and warm air out. I am doing a pretty intense Murdermod build and need a working rig soon and did not really have the time to go too far on this one. I found that mounting this way was easiest to achieve the cooling I wanted, plus I think that a triple and double rad will suffice easily. This was of course before I knew how the HD cage affects the overall stability of the case.
I think I would still do it this way with a double rad as the case is fine with the sides off, but a triple I would do it the other way for sure.
I also agree that getting any advanced cabling system like the BigNG and accompanying sensors is very hard to get clean enough not to buldge the side panel. I will have my new mobo and block soon and will give cable management another shot, but I found it very difficult to not buldge.
I totally know where you are coming from. I have a BigNG and MiniNG with a few sensors and it is a mess back there. I will have to really try to get it clean before I would ever be proud enough to show. I find it kind of funny becasue the cable management seems so well thought of in this case, yet I find it harder to come out clean on the backside than a TJ-07
That rig looks like it has some serious cooling power :) Fans a-hoy-hoy thats for sure :D
I like it and keep at it

My Build in progress! Just waiting for some new Fans!

Guys I just received my 800D today and so far have an XSPC 360 High Performance radiator.
One question, when fitting the radiator inside the top of the case, why do some of you fit fans above the radiator and others fit them below the radiator? or are they fitting both above and below? Is that possible with the size of this radiator? Which way is best?
Surely if you are only fitting fans below the radiator you are feeding air from inside the case into it.
Thanks
Fan and shroud orientation test. With quiet fans better pull (which XSPC RX are optimised to work with best), with high speed better push, with medium - doesn't really matter. Push-pull (fans from both sides of rad) - even better.
My new Xigmatek fans arrived today:

I installed the rear fan as an intake, put the top fans to exhaust, put the bottom fan blowing air up and changed the cpu fans' directions. I was also able to put the fins back on my dominators since I reversed the cpu fans' directions.
Guys, could you please answer one simple (I guess) question: Will a single 120 mm or 140 mm rad fit at the back of the case (where the exhaust fan is), without interfering with motherboard (ASUS Crosshair IV)? If so, do I have to choose slim radiator or can I stick with Black Ice SR1 (which is 54 mm thick)?
Thanks in advance.
What about a thick 120 mm, like Black Ice SR1 or XSPC RX?
That would probably work, since the reason the 140 doesn't fit is due to how close it gets to the metal edge on the side (there is about an inch of metal going down each side that the windowed panel sits against) as well as the other side which hits up against the I/O shield... but a 120mm would probably clear both of these... I can take a pic if you like.
The H70 is a thick 120mm rad and it fits there pretty easily.
Just FYI, microcenter now sells the corsair 800D window side panels for $30: http://www.microcenter.com/single_pr...uct_id=0347210
I just picked up one an hour ago for my 700D
that is one nice piece of work there batiatus.
Love the look of the aluminum + white.
^ Thanks guys...
I still have to work on the solid side panel, I need to cut a hole for the air intake for the dual rad down at the PSU chamber.
oh man.. That is badass...
it's different.. and different is good..!!!!
