I'm having some problems with my GA-P55A-UD4 and i5 750, mostly concerning QPI/VTT.
First of all, is it normal to get varying results for read and copy speeds in everest cache and memory benchmark? For example at 190x20, i would run it and get 16500 for read and 19000 for copy, then if i run it again i would get 16000 and 18500, run it again and i get 16700 and 20000, happens all the time no matter what speed even at stock. Read speeds seem to vary about ~1000mb and copy is worse varying ~2000mb. On my old 775 setup the results would be consistent hardly ever varying, only if i had background apps running etc.
Now my main problem is inconsistent stability for VTT. 190 blck is when i need to start raising vtt, but the sweet spot always changes. One time it would be stable with 1.15vtt (passing good few hours of prime blend), another time i would boot up and bsod upon log in screen, and would only boot in until i set 1.17vtt or more. Then another time it would only need 1.15 again. It's nothing to do with cold boot either. Sweetspot for vtt always changes between 1.15-1.17 and 1.19 for 190blck, so annoying ! I just want consistent stability...
It's the same for higher clocks as well. It seems abit more consistent if i use the 10x RAM multiplier, needing 1.19vtt and never changing really (although i need to start using above CAS 9 at any RAM freq above 1850 which i don't really want to do). On the 8x RAM multi is when i get problems. 6x multi just seems buggy. I'm using the 32x QPI muliplier, it doesn't seem any different on the 36x.
I've tried dialing in all my timings manually as well as all the other settings, to rule out any problems with that. I've got all power saving stuff disabled etc.
I think it could possibly be compatibility problems with my RAM, as they are not exactly i5 'certified'. They're crucial D9JMN's (2x2gb).
Currently sitting at 180blck for now, with turbo multiplier enabled, ram at 1800 cas9 with 1.65v - no problems, passed 10 hours of blend.
edit: on newest F9 bios, had same problems on all the others.

i would not recommend flashing with in windows.
make sure you put this file only(circled in red)on the usb thumbdrive
also make sure that the usb thumbdrive is active in the bios.
ive had some bios's have this disabled by default.its in the integrated
peripherals section,and its called USB storage function.set it to enabled.

thats the file thats on the drive yes and its by itself. Plus the drive is fat32

in the "integrated peripherals" menu in bios... the folowing settings are enabled
USB Controllers
USB Legacy Function
USB Storage Functiuon

also are plugging the usb drive in before you reboot?
you need to plug it in and then reboot
hit delete and enter bios and load optimized defaults
and set you boot order again the way you want it and
achi/sata /raid and other stuff the way you normally set
it to save and reboot and either hit end to enter Qflash
or delete and enter bios and hit F8 to enter Qflash.
see if this works

The light on the usb drive doesnt even blink once, maybe the stick isnt compatible??
where are you plugging it into your case?or the back of the board?
if its not lighing up theres something wrong.try it at the back of the
motherboard and see if it lights up.
but yea it might not be compatible either.

It cant be the windows 7 disc, as this started happening as i was overclocking when i had a stable version of windows running (1+ hour linx stable)
i noticed this started happening when i went to bios version f9 from f4, iv now gone back down to f5 and im still getting the same bsod atikmdag.sys whilst installing windows with stock speeds (its always the same part of the installation, (right at the end)
the screen goes black for a thew seconds before the bsod pops up
going to look for f4 and see if that works
if f4 doesnt work, it has to be hardware related, but what?
i only asked about the disc because i only read the last post in your other thread.
but it sounds like theres something bad with your memory or your ATI card(DRIVERS) read that link i gave you there are a lot of links to peoples fixes.Quote:

Hey guys, I could really use some advice. I'm having some problems with my GA-P55A-UD3 on the latest F6 BIOS.
Here’s a little history:
The first couple of days I built my system it ran flawlessly. After validating things where working solid at default speeds, I followed many of the suggestions found in this forum and pushed it easily to 4ghz (20x200), 4.1ghz (20x205) and finally at 4.2ghz (20x210) when something happened. At first 4.2ghz appeared to be stable with IntelBurnTest, Prime95, SuperPI. I then did further testing and loaded up a game, watched streaming video on another monitor while running Prime95. CPU temperatures were all under 70c. All of a sudden BOOM, system shuts down and I’ve had problems getting it stable since. Since then I cannot push it much further than 3.6ghz (18x200 or 19x190) and I’ve found that I’ve had to really push the VTT voltage into the 1.2-1.31v area whereas before, it was left at auto.

Current problems:
1) My system’s overall stability has gone to :banana::banana::banana::banana:. I’m not sure why, but I noticed something strange with my memory. Prior to purchasing my RAM I made sure it was listed on Gigabyte’s compatibility matrix. The problem I’ve been having is my system will simply shut down on its own randomly. This even happens when I’m simply web browsing, and not pushing it. Keep in mind, I can pass IntelBurnTest, Prime95 etc at 3.6ghz.
Booting into Memtest86 and running a test with both RAM modules installed immediately reboots my system. Testing each module individually works flawlessly through multiple passes. I had the RAM inserted into banks 1 and 3 as per the manual. They’re running at 9-9-9-27-1T, 1.64v per manufacturer specs.
2) I have a cold boot issue. I cannot start my PC w/out resetting the CMOS when I leave it shutdown for several hours. Upon pressing the power switch the fans power on, then off. The cycle repeats indefinitely until I reset the CMOS.
I’ve tried disconnecting every system component except the mother board power, same results. I have not tried out a different PSU yet. I have removed the CPU and inspected it and it appears fine. No burning, no bent pins. Temps have never gone above 71c.
This issue has caused me to update my BIOS from the F4, to F6. I have the same results: This system will simply not cold boot even with a very mild overclock 3ghz (20x150).
I’m really out of ideas. Is it time to RMA the motherboard, the RAM, or the PSU? Where should I start?
Here are my system specs:

I highly doubt its the 650HX> that is one of the best for cpu oc / on 1 oc vga.
clear cmos. set optimised defaults reboot, back into bios. check your hrdw monitor make sure power and temps are stable, pull the plug and discharge the power hold button down for 3 sec. take all the ram out.
try 1 stick in the blue slot farthest from cpu. I know the white ones are the good ones but just check. lower your vdimm at stock. otherwise raise your multi to highest one and increase the bclk to the highest cpu frequency that worked while you were priming. run your qpi to the lowest setting to start so you know its not qpi. when you get above 200 bclk and ram is running high speeds qpi needs to be set all the way back to start. then as you boot and test and max out the cpu and ram then you work on maxing qpi. vtt and pch at auto to start. even vdimm can be at auto got now since its so laxed to hell.
I do this:
qpi lowest setting
ram laxed to crap cas 9 set to run under 2000mhz. start around ddr3 1600
1.5 vdimm ( to start with trident)
max out the multi to find your cpu max (this eliminates bclk bullcrap over 200 bclk.)
shut off speedstep baloney.
set all else on auto like pch and vtt even vdimm for now. set your power setting to s1 for that ssd.
you want to go in order:
max out cpu
set mem to run around around 1800 1.65v then start tightening your timings.
next max out the qpi. if ram cant keep up start messing with timings/voltage etc.
keep your vtt around 1.2 to start. then go from there.
my honest opinion get a new board. good cheap board is TH55XE. or just blow it all on a classified. ;)
i am having the same problems, so i stopped overclocking, and using default cpu and memory @1333:( i can't get it stable anymore my i750, even @ 3500, using ga p55a-ud4 and using the same memory u have 4gb gskill trident f3 pc16000 cl9. I get blue screens out of nowhere when prime passed 11 hours on that config , memtest passed 8 times without a glitch, using f7 bios. I can't understand my motherboard, it must be some sort of incompatibility between the mobo&ram and the internal imc of the cpu, or some setting for the cpu which must be turned off or left on auto.I Used max 1.25 vtt, 1.6 vdimm and max 1.33vcore with llc on for 3800mhz
Seems alot of people having weird issues with these boards... any of you guys get the same varying everest bandwidth results as described in my post?
EDIT: guys, i wouldn't leave vtt on auto, it sets it to way over what you need. I found it sets it at 1.40~ at 200 blck as seen through easytune, if i remember correctly.
Very interesting. I also can't overclock on my board anymore as well. My PC won't cold boot at even very mild overclocked speeds (20x150). I've ended up resorting to plugging my reset switch to my CMOS jumper just to get the darn thing to turn on. Then I set to optimized defaults, fully boot, then attempt to OC. Although still, even a mild OC will randomly power cycle my machine anymore...
I was about to RMA my memory, but I may try and borrow some from a friend this weekend to rule that out. If my tests
PS - It is not a failed PSU. I've checked with a known working one.

i have a 670 and p55a-ud6. my max bclk with 2:8 is 245@ air , with 2:6 i can do only 220, someone can give me some advice about this ? with 2:6 overclock wouldnt be greatest ?
