I dont know what kind of internet connection i've got at school. But i do know its fast. We can download with up to 20MB a second :slobber:
my school's got t3 links to the various campuses, and "sprint broadband" to the internet. it's about 10mbit. work's got a pair of oc3's (155mbps x 2) to serve up all internet traffic. (browsing, email, e-commerce, etc)

Anyway, i have a DSL connection the speed is 8Mb down and 780k up. i can almost watch a divx streamed, and i take more time dl series than watching them. And once the dslam i'm connected to will migrate to the new gen of dsl, i'll have 20Mb down and 1Mb up, i'm so impatient to get those speed (hopefully soon)
I found that france has done a huge leap in dsl offer, i pay €30 for 8Mb (soon 20Mb without more charge) + free national calls + cable TV and the modem can do router and wifi.
Comcast cable: 3mbit
Siol ADSL 1024/256
Adelphia HSI. 6mbit/512kb
the max for private use in Luxembourg is 3Mbit/s, I use 1Mbit/s, but as antipop said France has done a huge leap, one of the best european country provider, I would like to use those speeds... and for 1Mbit I'm paying the same that the french has for 5Mbit...
i share internet with my cousin. (cable)
we pay 20€ each for 680/128..... (no traffic limit)
so every of us can use 340/64. its not THE internet. but.. internet stuff is very expensive in austria. :(
thats insane... what do you pay for this per month?Quote:

Very soon in paris, a company will start selling FTTH (fiber to the home)
100mbps up and down for 70€ a month
I would KILL for fiber!
Yep me too, but first i'm not really in paris (but less than a mile away) and second my father would never spend that much money for internet (alreayd 30€ for dsl seems too expensive for him :s)
Thats not a problem for me because im 20yrs older then you BUT my problem would convincing my wife, She already thinks cable is too much. Oh well :(
