tCL 8 doesn't seem to go a lot higher than 7. But I'm not gonna say I'm 100% sure, because I'm not. More testing to be done soon.
2070 C7 is 3D Marks & AquaMark 3 stable, and also Spi 8M stable :D
That's with 2.3V exactly.
tCL6 on Striker II Extreme sucks balls.
You've seen my sticks running Pi32M @ DDR3-1800+... yet, on the S2E even DDR3-1768 is unstable... not even a complete Pi 4M run.
Looks like a BIOS or mem ctrlr issue.
Just did a quick test on previously tested ( the second day :p: ) settings ( the ones I had a screenshot available, my notes are a big mess here :( ) to make sure that they didn't degrade by benching at 2.20V+ ( up to 2.32V ) regularly.
And they didn't :D

Your bandwidth & latencies are way lower than good DDR3 results.
However in most real-life apps there's no difference in performance between DDR3-2000 7-6-5-21 and DDR3-1333 9-9-9-31 and DDR2-800 5-5-5-15... so once again, faster depends on what you mean.

I'll purchase some E8500's this weekend ( yeah, looking for a good chip once again :D ) and hopefully get some high FSBs out of the Striker II Extreme to "take advantage" of the CL7 overclocking capabilities of the CellShock kit & the nF790i Ultra SLI memory controller :)
I'll give the E8400 a final shot later on, but it doesn't look like it's going to get well over 540MHz FSB on the S2E :(
Got any reference boards on hand? I had the same experience with S-II. I've got a couple of chips that do 585-590 under LN2 on the right reference board and about 560 on air. On the striker ii they only did 550 stable under LN2 (never tried air, but it seemed like temperature didn't affect it) and wouldn't even POST at 560.

I should've bought a P5E64 WS Evolution already to check the chips max FSB.
I'll check the new chips on various boards ( and also try to get a eVGA 790i as well ).
Imagine this RAM at DDR3-2070 7-7-6-21 1T most ( nearly all ) sub-timings at minimum and FSB 550/600 :D
