Thanx works beautifully:clap:
Orthoing now:shocked:
About the raid: Why do I lose the SATA CDROM after I create the aray???
:D

OMG, you think someone would mention this to me??? Apogee GT and Storm both don't fit on my board!! Nice 200e paperweight then eh?
Well, the space around the socket is rather tight. I just managed to install the Tuniq Tower, but I'm sure some other solutions will cause problems.
Hmm... Got it on by breaking the alum. thing just a little bit.. Now I have it not booting everytime I restart (not good really) And if anyone could help me out with someof the more advanced voltage settings I'd appreciate it.
This just isn't funny....How the :banana::banana::banana: do I get the board to restart and/or save my OC settings..
I can just see the ASUS board meeting now.. "Sir, I, Eh, think it doesn't restart properly" "Who the hell needs to restart??"
Oh But I can't even get it to come on after that! Needs 3 restarts and then my settings are reset. Whatever I've just done it restarted fine from bios this time but I'm sure it will be back.
Sometimes i laugh about all the things that could wrong with a board. People are always worried about stuff like overclocking and stability...i never thought that i'd have problems restarting my system. LOL! :p:
Takes the enjoyment out of shelling out 250 bucks, eh? Things will get sorted out; hang in there.
What I've noticed is that hard re-starts happen after your overclock crosses a strap threshold, or after a CAS change, or if you give too little voltage to any of the vital components ie. nb, sb, vcore, etc.
I think whenever this happens, the board re-adjusts certain internal latencies. If the discrepancy between what you set and what is actually needed to operate safely is too great, then the board boots with bios defaults.
Anyway, anyone else notice the async memory clocking on the X38? I think the X38 chipset is very advanced, but it is always fighting overclocks it doesn't like; kinda like the onboard computers on a Mercedes S Class designed to keep the car from doing certain things to ensure safe operation.
Hi there:
I've pdated my P5E3 Deluxe wifi@ap , which was working great with the BIOS 0141, that's the one that came from retail.
I've registered my board in the ASUS website and then went to the download section and updated my bios rev.0301. I didn't wanted to do the beta 504 :-(
The problem is that after that the Logo switched from being a Deluxe WI-FI to just Deluxe. I went into the BIOS setup and there is NO Express Opion avaliable in the tools section anymore.
How did this happen? I mean this is the flagship motherboard and Express Gate just dissapears completely?
The other problem is that from there I got a USB Device popping up in Windows, called ASUS ASAP. It's a USB Device, anyone knows how to deactivate it, I think it's linked to express gete somehow.
I tried using Express Gate Updater and I got an image from the CD-ROM that came with the board but no go. I can't recover Express Gate anymore... this really blows. This was a good gimmick but now it's gone... damn.
Any other user with some knowledge to help?
Thanks!
I had that happen to me after i flashed to 0504. Just make sure that you hit the load defaults the first time you get into the bios after flashing and then restart and then the express gate option should be there....
Don't ask me why i had to do that....all i know is that it worked :)
The vdroop with P5E is quite big... I don't know if I feel like doing the pencil mod or will I just wait for the LLC to work in bios.
has anyone tried using a silver conductive pen instead of the pencil trick?...it would be a better connection than using a pencil.
Thanks crazypinoy!
I will try this at home. Either way, I find very strange that there are no exlusive BIOS updates for the WI-FI version of this mobo.
I assume that P5E3, P5E3 Deluxe and P5E3 Deluxe Wi-FI@AP share the same bios revisions, is that right? I mean the only place on the crappy asus website where you can find the drivers to download is from the P5E3 Deluxe, but as for the WI-FI version, the Download link doesn't show anything.
To continue with the problem with express gate, you mean that after flashing the BIOS and reboot, you pressed F5 to load the setup defaults and express gate showed again on the BIOS setup?
The other thing, I really want to know if that ASUS ASAP, that USB physical device in between the second PCI-E and the second PCI can be removed phisically (like you can with the wireless card that ships with the board)?
See that piece in the center.

I know that express gate depends on it, but I just can't stand this USB device popping over and over.
The weird thing is that when I try using Express GAte Updater, it seems to connect and disconnet that USB device (icon of USB device appears/dissapears) while using it.
I just hate that Express Gate has been removed just from a Bios update, I'm stuck, I wrote ASUS but still don't have answers yet.
Any help would be extremely appreciated!
What is the highest FSB you guys can get stable on your P5E/P53?
I can only manage 460 fsb stable, no matter what voltage :( On water too...
Do we have any vmod (pencil if possible) to increase vCore on the P5E?
right here:
http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...2&postcount=34
EDIT:...re-read your post...this is to take care of Vdroop not Vcore increase...sorry.
This board honestly has some really weird issues.... I can run 500 fsb at 6 multi and I can run 400x9 stable but I can't even boot 450x8...wtf? I also Can't get my cpu stable at 3.7ghz for more than a minute and I know the cpu can do 3.8+
Um, to get 9x400 fully stable I need to give 1.5075 for vcore in bios. That gives me 1.408 according to CPUZ and 1.4 according to Everest while running prime. Is the vdroop really that big?
Unfortunately it is that exactly that big for me also. Have you done the pencil mod? Also, someone brought up a good point a few posts back about maybe using a conductive pen... Has anyone tried that?
(I'm using the Maximus Formula SE, the mod is the same though)
Well, I guess I'm just going to wait for a while for a bios update for LLC to fix the vdroop issue. If that doesn't happen within a month or so, I'll try the pencil mod. I'm a bit hesitant of using a conductive pen since that would most likely be the end of warranty.
