i presume you pulled the heatpipie off the northbridge?...did you do that before using it for the first time?Quote:

man that sucks. your sure that it's not just a scratch or something?
its a surface chip. gonna have to return it. Man I hate having to take things down and put it back up again. On top of that, I need to lap my Xeon. Shoots to 80c in no time. Damn thing is convexed. Outside of that, I really like this board. Hope the next one does better.
Could you take a picture of that "chip" please?Quote:

quadgt (ofcourse)
e6600
tuniq tower 120 (does it actually fit ? forgot to check :D)
cell shock pc800 cas 4 ram
my first goal is to get to 3600 (@9*400, ram @ 1:1). If that works out ok, I will start pushing higher and see where I end up. Do you guys think that for this, I will already need aftermarket cooling on the chipset ? I'm guessing no since my case as such has a nice airflow.
I'll keep you guys informed on my progress. Any first-time setup tips are welcome (what to do and not to do; there should be a thread for that ;-))
thanks for your attention
Very nice combo and yes it does fit (tuniq) i have one on my quadgt, very easy to hit 400x9 1:1Quote:

Will that be enough ?
just foundt out from the shop that the memory is out of stock without a due date :s ...
Cheers Bingo13,
I'll stick with keyboard to OS then for the time being. No biggy:)

The corsair 620w comes to mind, or the pcp&c silencer 750w.
As for your OC, with that ram you should be able to get 400x9 with the ram in 4:5 without problems. It should performs like a champion.
thanks yet again :)
currently my 480 watt powers my system : san diego 3700+ @ 2900mhz and
some voltage hungry g-skill ram and the rest similar as in my new conroe setup ... Is the new system that more power-hungry then ? I'll try but if it fails, I will consider a new powersupply. Thanks for your info !
I asked the shop if the gskills they have in stock are F2-6400PHU2-2GBHZ which should be D9 GMH , if that is the case, i might considering changing my order (unless the HZ's are no longer known to have D9-chips ?)
(i can't find that online ramlist anymore with all the chips per brand :()
:woot:
I have received a quadgt 2 days ago , and I must say I am very pleased with the memory performance on this board!
I have also run into a couple of problems. I have flashed the b06 bios in order to have functional raid on the ich8r, and since that the jmicron controller is gone , even though I have it enabled in the bios and set to IDE. Also the multiplier adjustment of the cpu does not work, even though I have it set to 8x in the bios, cpuz reads 9x (and I have eist etc set to disable in the bios) and therefore cannot find the max stable/benchable fsb this board can achieve.
Any help would be much appreciated.

Can someone confirm what Speedfan can see on this board?
vCore @ 1.4650V (lapped E6600,watercooled)
vDDR2 @ 2.15V (4-4-4-8, specs: PC8000 @ 500MHz)
vMCH @ 1.55V (@ 1.6V freeeezzz, stock-heat sink)
CPUVTT @ 1.40V
ICH 1.05V @ 1.2V
ICHIO 1.5V @ 1.5V
DDR2REF @ 0%
SP1M stable 8x481MHz 1:1, but I think I've a little problem "with something".. when I give vMCH @ 1.6V freez my computer. :(
Anyone knows why? Maybe I need just more voltage for Mem?

edit: one more question: How can I Disable memory-testing on setup, when booting? (press esc to skip memory-testing) I've original bios, what bios-version I should update?
THANK YOU.
What tRFC did you set in BIOS?
Is your heatpipe actively cooled?
Maybe you need CPUVTT set to 1,5V??
tRFC, hmmm..can't look it now from my own computer (working) but is it possible this one? --> 42 @ 20Quote:

Yes, mem & heatpipe is actively cooled with 120mm FAN and mosfets-heatsink(?) near OS-panel with 60mm FAN. They are absolutely "cool" when I touched them with finger.
I'll try in the evening to set CPUVTT more, maybe it will help.
Thanks!
tRFC=40 can be possible, yes!! I switched mine to 56, that was the "original" settign when using the fastest divider, so that is the "slowest" setting...you should try it for testint stability...my cheap mushkin memory can't run that fast, but with tRFC=56 it did 1020MHz @ 5-5-5-18...and that for a memory that was rated 5-5-5-18 @800MHz... :)
Thanks for information!
Anyone knows something about my vMCH freezing-problem? Bad settings?
I had mine from nearly anything between 1,25 and 1,7... no "sudden" freezes when set to 1,6 Volt...just "normal" instability due to too high overclocked CPU, but nothing else..Quote:

I tried PCI-Express setting 101-106MHz, no help. Auts. I have command Rate 2T now, should this work 400MHz @ 1T too ? :stick:
SetFSB works ok with this Mobo? Need that too.
In the evening I'll test more. Hope I can run +500FSB.
Does it freeze when you set it in the BIOS? I have had a few issues with uGuru when trying to change MCH or VTT settings in Windows but the BIOS settings have been fine.Quote:
