Yeah I like the front rad treatment...I am tempted to try that out. the side panel looks like a garage door...in a good way ...
Hi ppl
I have a AMD dualcore 4400..
and I`m running a stock AMD fan..noisy noisy noisy...
I have no HD`s in my top front fan and it blowing air straight into the CPU area and at the back have a fan blowing outwards...
So a wind tunnel effect (anyway to actually tell? :( maybe put an incense stick at front fan and watch where smoke comes out??? )
anyways
I`m thinking of putting one of these babies in my 900
Scythe Mine Rev.B

This has a big "fin area" soooo ,My question is
Do you think I could take the fan off the CPU cooler?
Would love a "no fan cpu cooler"
Ideas? suggestions?
Cheers

Give it a shot, just keep checking your temps especially when you're stress testing.
thanks guys...
would be interesting.. Pobably my loudest fan at the moment...
going to try the incense stick/mosquito coil to test the air flow to! amd see if moving the 2 fan cases up or down make any real impact?

Thanks to the creator of this thread, modded my case for better wire management. Right now I have a stock heatsink on the CPU, but I'll replace it when I get more money.

I have since re-done some of the cabling on the inside, looks much cleaner now, just haven't taken a shot of it yet. Not bad for my first mod :P
that looks Sweet for your first timer but Personally I think people that buy Antec 900 are talented people that know what they are doing ( with the few Exceptions ) ,btw I just noticed it now but is it just me or is the rev 2 of the 900 longer then the rev1 ?
Very nice wire management. Makes it look nice and simple. No need for anything special or flashy, just pure class.
Thanks everyone. Yeah I'm not looking for anything flashy here, just clean wire management and good airflow. Here's the final wiring job, apart from the power switch sticking out the case. My case came with a dead power switch so Antec sent me a new one, I was just testing it to make sure it worked before I went through the hassle of installing it.

My dad had some leftover irrigation tubing from our garden. I just used an an Xacto knife to cut it into strips, then I sliced the tubing down the center and stuck it around the aluminum. Worked better than expected, even looks great.

Sweet thanks. Does the top come off easy?
Yeah, it's pretty easy to take off once I figured out it was screwed in on the inside of the case (doh)
Just take off the front plastic casing, then pull on the front of the top until it pops up a little, then theres tabs on the inside you press on while you pull up (theres 4 of them), and it will come right off.
I used my dads old 3/8" drill (not a dremel) and a steel nibbler, it's a little hand tool that costs about $10 that nibbles little chunks out of plastic, aluminum, thin steel, etc.
Here's a few more pics before I finished the wiring..

Edit: By the way, if I were to do any more work on this, it would be drilling a small hole in the top of the case so I can run the panel wires behind the tray as well, would clean it up even more and probably make it much easier to take the top off if I need to change/replace anything (though, I'm not sure if all the wires would reach if I run them behind the tray).
Is the Nibbler better then a dremel tool?
I wouldn't say "better" -- it's just a LOT cheaper. I didn't think it was very hard to use, but you have to have some arm strength and patience, because it takes awhile to cut out all the holes. It quite literally 'nibbles' -- very small chunks. You can see the tool on the table in the first picture in my last post right above the wire cutters.
nice use of irrigation hose! very inventive
Thought I'd add to the discussion. I recently heavily modified my Nine Hundred and water cooled it as well. I will say that it was the biggest pain in the ass I've ever had to deal with, but the results were well worth the effort. Here's some photos.

This next one, the 12volt cord was lengthened and modified from a 6 pin to a 4 pin connector (Thermaltake decided an adapter wouldn't be a good thing to include) I'm still not happy about this cut out though, it's not as clean as I'd like.

I'm sure many will disagree with me, but i found the best location on this case for the fill port would be at the bottom. It can be inconvenient for filling, but i really don't see a better location available.

Well....sorry i got so liberal with the picture taking. The system rocks my socks. Here's the specs.
Intel Core 2 Due E4300 over clocked to 3.9 Ghz from 1.8 Ghz
Nvidea 8800GTS 620mb Overclocked horrendously (can't give exact numbers at this time)
2 GB of OCZ
2x 320 GB Barracudas in RAID 0
hope you have enjoyed folks. with a little TLC the Antec Nine Hundred can be a beautiful case.
Nice...........took bloody ages to load with MJ12 running though :D
Here's mine....
The wire management is horrible, you could see it. I don't want to drill holes like yall do. :wth:
I know someone has 620HX here, may I see your WM on it? I need to find someone else with same PSU or with 620HX and see how their WM go.
Here it is...
I call it the GLACK.
The computer right here along with Bioshock.

In serious need of wire management. I had to flipside the SATA power cable, it was difficult trying to make it right. And this mess is also there because of molex connector is being used to power up 80GB Harddrive, now I'm in need of new HD so I can use SATA power and that I won't use up all spaces anymore. I'm looking maybe 250gig will do.

My attempted mod!! AND IT FAILED. One switch is no good, I think, I don't know, really. It may be bad wirings I did. There was not enough connectors, so I changed the all the female connectors to male connectors, then it's perfect. But it ended up didn't. So one and only switch is working for two CCFL. I was hoping one for one, not one for two. It'd be nice to adjust brightness too. Oh well, this case looks real great anyway.

And close up to my 9500AM2 fan, dinged up! I was trying to disconnect a cable, and it slipped straight into it. :( Not so purty and purfect anymore.

Here's the album of the project gone bad. Gone bad.
I jsut realized there's no specs here. It'll be in the sig soon. :)
