I'm curious to see what the 0702 bios will do. I'm a little leery of installing it as I read on the Asus forums that several users couldn't reboot their computers after flashing to the new bios.
I'm currently on the 0702 Bios. I had no rebooting issues after updating!Quote:

OK, the bios 0702 was a huge mistake. I flashed the bios up to the new version. It flashed successfully but upon reboot the system would not post. I ran through the usual steps, cmos flash, removing battery for hours etc. Nothing worked. Called asus and they said they could sell me a bios eprom chip and courier it to Canada (Argh!) or I could rma the board. For the heck of it I switched out the ram and cpu ( I have an old celeron chip and a 512 stick of kingston ddr2 I use for testing) and lo and behold it booted! I flashed the bios back to 0602 and re-installed my hardware and its all running fine and stable again.
Be very careful with this bios and C2D chips. It definitely has issues. I checked the asus forum afterwards and there were a number of people that had the same problem (Fortunately someone tried a cpu change to an older model and then posted their success).
I'm haven't posted yet but i'm closely watching this topic from the beginning.
I have flashed 0702 (from 0302, used EZ Flash & USB drive) and have no problems. I haven't tested OC yet but it seems to be far more stable than 0302 (no rebooting or random crashes), and the sound is finally clear (i had some strange noise on 0302). But it's not perfect - the crashes are less frequent but still present. First i thought it was because of my GeIL memory (2x 1GB PC2-6400) - it's not on QVL - but it seems taht mem is OK and tyhe issue is not related to it.
By the way, when I set FSB other than stock (266) ASUS Probe shows an alert about DDR2 Termination Voltage - it's ~0.95V on stock FSB and ~1.10V on any other FSB. When i try to set mem timings to what the specs say (4-4-4-12) mem gets very hot and is unstable, is that because of too high termination voltage? Could anyone tell me what's 'DDR2 Termination Voltage' ??

Termination voltage is half of vDIMM.
But what does it do? I know vdimm is the basic voltage on all transistors, the higher it is the faster they can switch, the greater the current, the hotter they get. But why does it change on different FSB?

Its strange that the board booted no problem with a non-c2d chip and allowed me to reflash back to 0602. I think I'll wait until there is a non-beta update. Now that they are listing it in the regular asus downloads we'll see how many people have issues.
FSB is not a problem with this board, here's couple of PI 1M results showing roughly the performance between 10/11 multi. Both of these are untweaked aside from Maxmem - more testing is required for 1M. 32M testing reveals slower performance vs. 975 even with careful system tweaking.

guys, you can't boot on 420MHz then ClockGen increase.... not so easy...
i.e: boot on 420, set 430/440/450/460 and so on -> freeze or unstable.

Phil The Greek, it's unstable. I mean if you boot on 424MHz and set 462MHz. Try to play games, Mark03 and so on... I can pass 1M, 32M but nothing else...
