Ricky I think some chips don’t like volts, I know my E6600 didn’t boot after 1.8vcore.
I say try r50/1150 blend for the 3rd stage, does r50 run in the gas pipes in your county.

And for CO2... yeah you can often get nice bottles on eBay, but I think the problem in this country would be finding somewhere that will fill it for you. And knowing them, it would almost certainly need to pass safety procedures before they would give it you.

Does any one remember what load temps pcice got with his xx/1150/r50 cascade? loaded temps were close i think to what ppl got with r14 3 stage cacades?

PC Ice got -125C load with 155 watts of load.

yes, i'm thinking on methane, i'v a powerfull 2nd stage i'll try it, 2nd stage is arrownd @ -115ºc load

just watch out with the methane ;), since most PT chart have a logaritmic scale it doesn't seem that bad but when you convert it to linear scale it looks almost like a delta function around >-100*C
R14 will give a much more reliable result.
A while ago I build a cascade with the same rotary's as you now did, when the compression ratio was to high or the suction pressure was too low they would overheat and shut down, not very much fun when it is the high stage compressor that shuts down, I can tell you that :D

when i got some methane we will see :D.

for now, compressor temp after some hours of benching stay close to ambient, that is awsome.

my pressures loaded are:

stage freon low / hi (psi) temp loaded +-
1st propane big vacuum / 95 -62
2nd ethylene big vacuum / 90 -115
3rd ethylene big vaccum / vaccum -115

let's wait for methane and r14 to re-tune

OMG, vaccum on hi pressure LOLLLL. First time I see that :woot: .

Haha makes sense, ones evaporating in the vacuum producing temps that would liquify the same gas at just a bit more pressure. :P

Thanks for the advice kayl :). I heard about people using the hydrogen regs for ethylene before. I also read somewhere else that you can use the hydrogen ones for stuff like methane and ethane too. I suppose the fitting and pressures would all be the same :).

yes i also heard that also, h2 is alot pressure ;) gets me thinking one day i should do a 3 stage cascade and try my luck with r50 as i have the regulator here just to keep up with the rest of the xtreme members :clap:
before is also doing a 3 stage cascade

the only thing with different regs is the bottle thread

all combustible gas in the UK come with left hand threads

Only with R290 into 1, and R1150 into both 2 and 3 stages ATM :) Will blend or try other gases later. Thx kayl for you thoughts about captube lengths. :toast:

i use nitrogen regulator for ethylene with an adapter to fit the bootle.

Only problem I would have, quite rightly though, would be my dad probably wouldn't let me use a regulator not designed for a specific gas, (at least in this house!) or an old regulator. If a technitian at BOC said it was perfectly safe, i'd be allowed. HE insisted I got the latest BOC ones for my brazing kit, purely for safety aspects.

Hehe I agree, but maybe it's working out really expensive for him to get hold of the gases!

dudes, i'm working on getting r14 and/or methane. i'm waiting for prices from a friend and/or saving money to ask cold-ice for that freons :D

anyway, today i change evap, i'v used my old cascade evap, now i'v mounted one my my new evaps.

new evap, new head hehe, vapo ls style, need to drill 775 holes to put it on cascade.
