Kam
Vmem mod and read point. Best method is "red", but use turquoise if you don't want to solder. (I do not recommend "blue" method. There may be problems over 1.95V)
Attachment 52507
When work 10K VR is connected between small red point?
If I understand you right..the answer is yes.
Connect variable resistor between small red points.

Kamel, what's the height difference of those power chips? 1mm? or maybe 0.5mm? I'd like to know since I'm considering making custom cooling too :)
LOL?Quote:

There must be different GTOs out here...
I think there were GTOs from (damaged) GTX and some which aren´t made of GTXs to increase number of cards...
@Garrett: Measure yourself! It´s better...
EDIT2:
Would it be better modding it like this?:

EDIT: Can somebody tell me where the ground-points on the GTO are please?
Maybe I´ll do VGPU-Mod...
And why helps more GPU-voltage memory in overclocking?
Yeah I will... strange, ah well I have another mobo to put in the case, might as well pull the sink off and check it myself indeed :)
Sh**!!! Now I see that I haven´t any thermal glue...Quote:

I penciled that small resistor down to ~870 Ohm and voltage is now 1.92V, from 1.81V default.
Unfortunately it does bugger all for me, did not even gain one single MHz on the mem. :(
Mem is very bad, only does 718Mhz, core goes up to 730Mhz.
This seems to be my destiny, my 7900GT had a fantastic core, did 700Mhz easy with 1.4V but the mem actually clocked worse after Vmem mod.
Why me??
Anything else that could help my memclocks?
GTX bios maybe?
Why me?^^Quote:

Maybe Core is influencing the RAM.
Lower the coreclocks...
Try higher or lower memvoltage.
My RAM gets to 780...also bad...:(
One question for you guys.
I modified my GTO BIOS to say GTX instead of GTO(clocks are untouched, everything else not modified), but when I try to load the BIOS with VGABIOS, the screen gets fubared.
I can do all other modifications to the BIOS and it will work perfectly, only the device ID to GTX fubars the BIOS, any idea why ?

Does flashing to GTX bios relax the timings somewhat?
GTX timings are more relaxed. You will probably loose performance by flashing it.
If your memory doesn't clock very well at default voltage, usually (my own experience) it won't clock much better with mods.
Test GTX bios and 2.0V. It's the only way to know for sure.
Oh yeah, good idea.:) I´ll try that, too. But now I have no thermal glue so the cooler mod isn´t finished...:(Quote:

The GTO indeed has tighter timings... gotta say I'm pretty happy with a. tight timings and b. artifactfree 1820 benchspeed ;)Quote:

Yes. GTO timings are tighter, so performance is little better with same mem speed.
Your 826MHz mem clock would be average with GTO timings, but with GTX timings 826MHz is nothing spectacular.
My GTO did 850MHz with default GTO timings and stock voltage. That was good enough for me.
826 mem=average?
OMG i feel scr3wed now, mine does 715, 730 with 2.03V
There is a review in German in which they had a GTO which only got up to 710MHz mem clock...:(Quote:

I bought 2 GTOs some time ago, 1 does 720/740 the other 715/740 with stock cooling / no mods.
Now @ SLi @ watercooling 720/740, mem suxx hard.
But why complaining, those 5% less speed in comparison to the GTX are nothing compared with the low prize ^^
@Cyba:

LOL, I know. But I don´t have much money now and I think it´s better to wait for the G81. Furthermore this all here makes much fun.^^:D
I don´t want to sell my GTO, my brother will get it, then I get finincial help of my parents, too.^^
What bios? the .15 bios suxs for mem clocking, try out the .09 instead..Quote:
