Well memory arrives tomorrow and should (work allowing) have time to fire up the board. Any need to go through and AS5 the heatsinks and whatnot with this board? I want to take off the caps and all but I seem to recall someone saying there was good paste and contact on the sinks, but want to verify.

Its good contact. Just take off the top and add fan.
Maxed Vmch 1.8V probly not a good idea for extended use...

Yes, this does look like one Bad A$$ board. But as for waiting for an RD-History has shown that Intel chipsets have always been the performer when it comes to Intel CPU's. so far, nobody has been able to on-up Intel on their own platform.

I will be waiting until A LOT of reviews and a few forum threads are solid before I even think about another board swap. I jumped a little to early on this P5W DH and E6600 setup I have now - and i'm pretty much stuck with a 366 FSB W 1.55volts. Unless there is something I'm overlooking..............

I have e6600 that need def. Vcore for 3,2GHz on P5B Dlx (8x400). But when i put him to the P5W64, i can't boot with that voltage. I must raise Vcore to the 1,375V, that i normally use to boot with 9x400. I think that P5W always see my CPU with multi 9 and after boot switch multi to 8. It's very irritating. I don't need more Vcore than 1,325 to use 8x400, but I MUST set 1,375 to use this settings. Is anybody has answer?

Second question is - what is VID Control in CPU Section? Default settings is 62....

Ive got one of these to try tomorrow, hopefully i can then run oblivion at 4Ghz + stable.

My current P5WDH wont play oblvion over 3.6Ghz fully stable even though i can run super_pi up to 4.15Ghz. I hope this board isnt the same, ive seen some high FSB's being shown here.
Ive not really read about anyone saying how game stable it is at these high FSB's, i will tomorrow.

Im new in this forum and also new to OC, I have this mobo and E6600 with Corsair XMS2 Xtreme 2048M DDR2 XMS1066, 2x128Mx64, EPP, HS, CL 5-5-5-15.

Can someone help me how to OC CPU, what settings in bios etc.

your p5w-dh can dual prime @ 3.9 but only 3d stable @ 3.6???? :slap:

Ive got my P5W64 up and running but its showing 39deg CPU at default clocks under water, It was always 23 deg on my P5WDH.

ive reseated 3 times :confused: wtf

What VCore are you getting in Windows? If you set, say, 1.5V in bios, it may read 1.55 in Windows. The board overvolts, which means you are actually using more VCore than you think. Also, depending on the sensor chip used, the temperature readings can vary a lot from board to board.

Im on default volts, AI booster and probe both read 1.15 in windows and they both read 40 Deg on stock 2.4Ghz speed which is the same as hardware monitor in bios. :confused:

Game stable is around 3.78-3.85 depending on vcore and cooling capacity, vcore needs to be aropund 1.47 (1.53 actual) to be absolutley stable at around 3.8ghz, ofcourse different cpu's = different variables..

Super pi suicide runs can never reflect absolute game stabilty, it usually comes at least 150-200mhz under, if not more...
