Which version are you using now?
Not sure if that was directed to me, but if so, I used 1707, 1604 and 0021. I've been trying to push double-sided MFR to 2800 and need C12 but I get code 55 every time. C11 will boot oddly enough, but it isn't stable enough to bench. MSI Mpower Z77 works fine with them at C12 2800, enough for Super Pi 1M.
Try setting CAS Write Latency manually.
Most likely a RTL setting problem, you guys should check what values you have on other mobo's when setting CAS12,easiest way to see is memtweakit timings#2.Then manually set in maximus bios exactly same values(tcl, twcl, rtl, rtl delay) and it should work.
I decided to hook my MVE back up, and this happened.

After reconnecting everything I booted into the BIOS to try 2800 again and I noticed the settings were already there and then I realized it was running at 2800. At first I didn't believe it as I've had times where I manually set my speeds, timings etc but booting into Windows everything was at stock, so I imagined that happened here. Turns out it didn't, it really did boot into Windows with the RAM at 1400MHz C12. I even managed Super Pi 32M whereas I could only manage 1M with the MPower. The only thing I can think of that I did differently was to connect the FDD power connector to the board. As for how the two mobos set RTLs:

hello
Raja@ASUS
is asus stop bios development for P8Z77-i dlx ? i need a new one :)
thanks
What do you need a new UEFI for? You may contact ASUS support with any issues and take it through there if you have a bug to report.
for exemple since bios 0704
The bluetoth controller can not be disabled. Also if it is switched off from BIOS, it's always detected by Windows.
I'd go via ASUS support for that.
Would be nice to have Intel Microcode Update 19 for IB CPUs, we are still on 17, and 19 has been out since June.
We only make the updates if we have to. Some of them screw memory clocking or have impact on required VCC. Which gets more complaints than thanks. If you still want to pursue that, contact ASUS Support.
ok for ASUS support
thanks
Hi just wondering if anyone here has had a vanishing lsi controller on the z77 extreme 11? my drives hooked up to the lsi ports seem to vanish every so often :( when i restart after this it doesnt restart the screens just go black but after a hard restart the drives are back :) just odd
Maybe check the CPU socket for misaligned pins (left/south side of socket is mainly PCIe.)
-Raja
Thanks for the reply. Yes I have checked the CPU socket, i did not see any bent pins. I just picked up a asrock board to replace it, I was afraid if I got another p8z77 it would have the same issue since iv'e read numerous reports of people replacing this board and the issues remain. when i get it swapped out ill do some more testing/investigating with the board.
I am most likely a few versions back when it comes to the bios. Is the MAXIMUS V EXTREME BIOS 1903 stable and prefered bios?
And is there a way to reload my current settings after doing a bios update AND factory reset? Will the saved bios OC profiles still work?

Whichever UEFI is on the support page will be the latest official release.
Saved profiles won't carry over, you will need to re-enter all settings. UEFI updates and changes sometimes alter various parameters so profiles are wiped (best to start again to avoid any potential conflicts).
I'm planning to SLI 2 nVidia GTX 680 on an Asus P877V-LK board. Would I have any room anywhere to fit my Creative XFI PCI sound card?
Looking at board layout, you have an X1 slot above the primary PCIe X16 slot.
Hi Raja, the card is legacy PCI, not PCIe
In that case, your options are limited unless you go with a board that has both PCI and the kind of layout you need. Or, it's time to move with the flow of things and reluctantly purchase a PCIe based soundcard.
the LK does have PCI slots, there are in fact 2 of them. the one nearest the edge will be blocked by the 2nd GTX680, the middle one though is not. So my worry is will it be ok to put it there in between the 2 GPUs
I know they are there, but its a question of whether or not you are happy with the card there - which is why you are asking in the first place. :)
You will need to provide crossflow. The rest, can't say if the cards will be happy or not. The reason I suggested what I did is because layouts suit x1 slots for expansion more than they do PCI as you are finding out...
Thanks Raja.. This really has been my struggle since PCI-e has been introduced. I find a mobo I like with the right features and then realize that PCI location on the board is not optimal. It's wasn't really that big of a deal before since I usually just want a single GPU, only now that I have a chance to get 2 GTX680s at a ridiculous bargain am I bugged by this again. :D
Haha I hear you. THere are budget soundcards out there at PCeX1. I guess you can try with the card sandwiched - I don't see what you have to lose as you're low on options with that config...
Hi,
I have two ASUS P8Z77-V_LK boards and really like using Asus QFan to control the CPU and chassis fans.
The problem is the bios wont allow you to set the minimum of the chassis fans less then 60% which is just too high for fans that have a maximum speeds of say 2000 RPMs.
Is it at all possible to request a customized BIOS or am I forced to use a software solution like SpeedFan? :(
Thank You.
How is running crossfire on this card? Good spaceing? Or heat problems? Any advices? Considering crossfire 7970 and R9 280X...
Edit:
This card = ASUS Maximus V Extreme...
Anyone remember the trick to get Hynix MFR sticks to boot@Cas12 on Asus Z77 boards? Setting tWCL to 9 or 10 isn't working.
Another question:
With my overclocked (stabel) machine, from time to time I have sudden shutdowns, can happen even if the machine is idle. Need to remove power to get it to boot again. I am NOT running latest bios.
Anyone else have had this happen?
Both my Maximus v Gene boards had a problem where it would intermittently detect an audio jack had been unplugged/plugged into the rear jack. Well, the problem gets less intermittent and progressivley worse with age (not even a year old yet)...MY MAXIMUS V GENE NOW DETECTS AN AUDIO JACK CHANGE 10 TIMES A SECOND! Needless to say it is broke, had to disable HD audio and buy a sound card...no I'm not waiting 2-months again for an RMA just to be sent a Z87 Pro motherboard in the end...WTF!
I chose this board over your competitors exactly for the audio solution on it....that was the deal breaker and now you just broke the deal.
is there a known problem with the Sabertooth Z77 TUF and the 2nd PCie slot? I have many known working GPU's aka graphics cards but whenever I try crossfire the 2nd slot just isn't recognized. I can put raid card etc in the 2nd slot and it works.....Bizarre!! I'm using an old Antec P190 with the two built in power supply they should be up to the job.
for RAJA.....I can use some OC help, if you have a minute to look
