Who's gonna be your Santa Dave? These babys cost 700 bucks a piece, and I'm not talking about Dollars here... :(
Very good day indeed team!!! :D

^ Indeed.
Good day, team!
I'm not happy with where my last build left me. The P5B Dlx just struggles with the Q6600 I dropped in there. I can't seem to get it much past 3150.
So I ordered an open-box MSI P35 Neo 2-FR, for $60 ( along with a Saitek Eclipse and a Xigmatex HDT-S1283 cooler ). I worked 2 days OT during the Memorial Day weekend so this is my hardware reward...
Once I get the quad ensconced in the MSI, I'm going to put my long idle E6600 in the P5B Dlx. So that will be another two cores going. Hopefully I can run both the E and the Q 6600's at or around 3600 MHz. I sold my other E6600, about a week ago, for $150, but I don't know whether that was the "good one" or not ( one was good for 3.6, the other struggled much over 3.3 ).
I've been trying to refrain from buying asus boards but it's tough because they're always first with new stuff. I really like the msi p35. I like the xigmatek hdt tower coolers too although I find the fans a bit weak. Hardware reward huh? Can I steal that? Could be useful for future justification :D
For once this isn't Asus' fault, quadcores are just realls limited by the P965 chipset. I couldn't get my Q6600 higher than ~FSB 380 on my AB9 QuadGT for stable operation.
I'd get an E8200 or E8400 for the P5B if I was you... these chips run like mad on P965-based mobos, there's virtually no FSB limit (550+ possible)
Keep up the great work team. Sorry for my absence on the forums. But you will always know, I am crunching all the time .
Had to stock my quadcore... will be RMAing my motherboard and PSU.
Sorry to hear that fungry. Any idea on the turn around time?
Great work guys.
...steal away!
Yeah, I don't have to justify to anyone but myself. However I put myself on a "no hardware for a while" limitation. But that is because work has cutway back on the OT. Almost non-existant, now. But for some reasons they cut loose on holiday weekends.
So yeah, my reward, for working my two days off, was those three items.
Still leaves some extra $$ to refill the coffers, plus fixes my hardware jones.
I've never used any other coolers other than TRUE or TT 120's on C2D/C2Q's ( other than earlier on re-using a TT BT or two from my A64 days... ). So, I'm interested in the Xigmatek. I'd heard that, too, about their relatively weak fan; I have a brand new 110CFM Scythe waiting to replace it. I'm not even gonna bother with seeing how the stock one is. :D
It's not all bad. Just kinda loud when it ramps up.
blew a phase at work today, lost 6 crunchers, should be up again tomorrow
Not a bad day again...keep it up everyone :)

I really have no clue when. But I will be sending the two respective items to my contact who will send them for RMA. I should be able to get an instant motherboard replacement however, I may have to pitch in a bit of money for another model (x48) because the x38 is scarce.
As for the PSU, may take awhile before I can get my replacement. It starts making static sounds after being hooked onto my computer for 10 minutes. As the fan speed increases, that is when the sound comes in. When I stop the fan, so does the static sound. My question is, is it worth the effort to send it in for RMA or should I just break the sticker, open the PSU chassis and replace the fan?
Edit// Keep up the work team.
Whats wrong with your mobo fungry? I'd think these mobos are indestructible, it's the 1st to hold my Q6600@4Ghz and not to die within 2 weeks :D
Definitely replace the fan. It will be a lot quieter afterwards if you choose a good fan. (~1500RPM 120mm will be fine)

Hey, all the teams were off a bit today..
Sorry, guys, it's hot here !
I can't stand putting the extra heat of 2 or 3 more quads in the house.
Weather's supposed to get more comfortable in a week. :|
It was 100F here today, tomorrow will be 104F and Monday is supposed to be 102F. :(
The air was so thick that you could have cut it with a knife. :shakes:
Team 2ch is closing in on Easynews. Probably will overtake them in less than a month.
Reached 91 in my room today, on the second floor. First floor was probably 75-80, felt icy after so many hours upstairs.
Wow. Definitely hit a low ><. Been awhile since i've seen <5mil.
Go Go Team. :D

I'm gonna be down for 2 weeks; out of state vacation. Just bought my first Q6600 (complete system). Got my e6850 up again. Had to axe a few northwoods and prescotts; crunching return vs. power consumption was not worth it.
XtremeSystems 5,052,448
Just got in :up::clap:
Good work guys!, keep it over 5mill
XtremeSystems 5,062,336
Over five!
Always makes me smile :up::up:
Oh, I got my power bill for the last 3 months since I have had all 5 in the farm running 100% - around $150 / month.......makes me laugh (or is it cry) that I am not even home in my apartment during the last 3 months. I spent a total of 11 days home...for $150 / mth...LOL

Just missed... but really solid day anyway.
I fired the Skulltrail rig up last night, so here comes an extra ~30k/day. ;)
Not to mention I saw this.. scary.

Awfully big number there :)
I think people saw the sub-5 mill number and thought "OMFG! We needz moar points!" and turned on all their spare rigs... Now we just need to keep it up :p:
Eller
Well they must have seen we were doing good and slacked off...

My Skulltrail has been online for the last 2 days and will stay up 24x7
Need to O/C it now but gona wait until i can get guidance ;)
Topboy
Guidance? No problem :D
- set FSB to 400
- slightly increase vcore
- check cooling
Bang 3,6Ghz :D
That is, if you have DDR2-800 FBDimms...
Expect my output to be down noticeably for the next week or so. There is a major problem with the airconditioning in the 'war room' where most of my quads are located.

Got there again :clap::up:
Good work everyone!! This is a tough time of year on the equipment and the util bills are only going one direction :shock2: I've had 2 machines down since last week and rma's are so slow but I'm going to be back full strength asap and I'm working out a feasible schedule to add to my little garden periodically (controlled addiction?). Anyway great day XS Crunchers :D
XtremeSystems 4,675,449 Slightly off day but keep crunching hard everyone  I take full responsibility for the drop :ROTF: not :D It's just one of them things, good work folks!!
This heat exhaustion deal has slowed my plans but by friday I'll have another 25K a day on and a week after that another 18K on top of that.
I'll be over the 75K a day I promised a while back, just 2 weeks behind schedule.
Nice Dave :)
And I just got my two which had been down for a couple of weeks now...so will be back up to 65-70k tomorrow :D
Oh, crap !
Well I just fired a semi-dormant quad back up, then !
It's gonna be warm in here today, but after all that talk of mine, I can't go down that easily !
32,5C max in my room today, says the probe. My rigs were holding though, mainrig was hitting 40C watertemp lol
Thanks to the GPU FAH client now also running...
The airconditioning has been fixed and I've brought all but one of my quads back online. Will have to reinstall the OS for that last one tomorrow.

I figure by Sunday I'll be close to 75K a day unless something goes POOF!
Hehe.. actually the harper's output is missing.. they are crunching into cache for the 3rd day now - needed to rearrange the network and was short one switch, argh.
Thankfully they can survive ~5 days w/o connection. I think I'll have my best day soon, can you say 100k+ :D
Wow nice one jcool.!!
Overclocked my CPU a bit. Will push it further sometime during the weekend. Crunching will initiate in a couple hours. XD
How I wish WCG had a GPU Client xD. Test this 4850 baby.
XtremeSystems 5,032,299
Still over 5 mil..
Nice
Got my machines back running nice again...sitting around 60k :)
I am moving up the ranks again...sitting in Top 100 of WCG :D proud of myself, but proud of everyone here who has helped to push me further and further into doing something worth while! I think I am currently 8th in Australia too :) not bad for my first year *toot, toot*
Just connected the Harpers cause they ran out ouf cache.. had to reroute everything because of that missing switch.
170 results done, not bad :D
