Where? www.directcanada.com
When? Sunday, August 26, 2007.
Got a G0.
Anyone have good results from week L726A ?
Just received from www.directcanada.com ---> G0 L726A851. Looking good so far! I don't know how realistic those idle temps are though. I've got good water cooling but room temp is like 25c. OC results to follow shortly.
EDIT: not even worth posting. It cant even match my QX6700 B3 3.5GHz 1.45v BIOS quad Prime stable. Nice low temps though!
Very nice temps indeed.
I feel like DirectCanada had 10 G0 CPUs, because none of the reviews said "i got a b3".
Keep tweaking away man because these thing can do 3.6ghz @ under 1.4vcore.

Some CPU Power @ 3.85Ghz

Core #3 keeps erroring out a few minutes into 8k FFT. Tried up to 1.55 vcore which made it the longest but still got an error on #3. Also I messed around with all the relavent settings in BIOS with no joy. I'll try it out an a different board in a couple days.
Is Newegg stocking "G0" stepping as yet?
I picked up a G0 SLACR at frys in san diego(they restocked last week)
L727A968
just playing with it now :D
hmmm...I've got some L726A854's wonder how they'll do compared to the L726A851s posted above.
cheers,
dave
As using old DS4 fsb restricted...but not bad...a 3.5ghz o/c

I got mine at PCClub in Oceanside, California.
SLACR L727A918
Thank you Zebra for that excellent first post, and welcome to XS.
There are a lot of good deals for a Q6600 showing up everywhere. I.e., you can get a Q6600 for $266.95 shipped @ Buy.com right now.
It would be great if this thread would go back to which it was intended and people would just report where they bought their Q6600, and stepping they got.
Tank Guys, L720B066.
Finally got this Q6600 installed. Initial startup was 3.2Ghz, 8 X 400 at Auto vcore.
Now running at 3.6Ghz, 9 X 400 with 1.45 vcore. Also upped NB v to 1.45.
It runs SuperPi 32M just fine. OCCT passed and I plan on running Prime overnight.
Not a bad start. The thermal paste hasn't even spread out or set up yet.
Temps at idle are a little higher than my E6600, but load temps max out so far
at 60C.
Very satisfied that I waited for Tank Guys to come through!!!!
I just grabbed a L726A849 from TankGuys three days ago but have not fired it up yet, still waiting for ram and new case to arrive.
Compusa... G0 for 299.99 LOCALLY!
Its going to be a little while yet. I still need the case then I will be doing a total new system, this chip is getting a Thermochill PA 120.3 rad and Dtec fusion water block. I would certainly grab a go chip as they all seem to be clocking rather well and at around 300.00 its a great deal and rather future proof.:)
I have the same batch number as flesheatingvirus L726A849 that I got today from tankguys. Right now I am about 1 1/2 hours in running prime small ffts at 3.6 ghz. Voltage is 1.4125 in bios and 1.376 actual under load. Temps are 57c for first two cores and 55c on the other two. I'll post some screens after about 4 hours. Oh yeah and vid was 1.26 something.
Just revceived my q6600 from newegg, Edison Warehouse.
Got the GO L726A854.:D
Any info on this batch??
Nice chip mnaz, Im sure it will go even further with some cooler air, your temps look good. I thought about the Ultra 120 as its certainly one of the best out there for air but ended up going with another water rig which takes longer to build but ultimately is worth the effort to me. Boatasiaus I have not seen that batch up on any boards yet though I would have to guess you are good to go,they all seem to be good lately. Get a solid board and you will be fine.
The 120 has a 120x38 panaflo on it though. I can't remember how man cfm but its quite a few.
They work great. I had one in here a little while back with a Silverstone 120 vari that absolutely cranked. They make excellent sinks and lapping only improves it.
Ok here is what i have so far.

i order from newegg.. it is still on its way here from the cali warehouse... most likely it will be a b3... bummer.. statistic shows that the most of the peeps getting from the new jersey warehouse are getting g0 and cali getting b3.
With multiple places available to get a guaranteed 'G0' why in gods name did you go through newegg?
I hope luck brings you a G0 anyway. :)
Tankguys latest batch is a GO SLACR 720B. You could always cancell New Egg and grab one.
Don't be so pessimistic, I'm sure you have a chance of 50% to get a G0, and if you still get a B3, with nice cooling, you can achieve almost same overclock as a G0.
would they charge me a restocking fee, if its unopen... if its not a g0 i would return it in a heartbeat.... i hope i get a g0 too
Figured I'd add mine.
ClubIT
Q6600 g0
Batch # L723A964
1.35V max
I haven't seen anyone else with this particular batch number. Actually I'm still confused as to how to decode the batch number. Someone want to fill me in?
From todays posted reviews quite a few reporting getting G0 from Cal.,
been quite a few reports of GO from NJ & now others are reporting the TN outlet is shipping them.
Got a new Q6600 from ClubIt today batch: L724B175 VID: 1.2625v OEM, not retail..
Here is a quick test of two hours prime stable & its lowest vcore set in bios 1.2625v.
Just wanted to see how far it would go & still be stable without moving the voltage.
I did bump the MCH one notch was all, everything else was at stock setting except ram.
Load shot note actual vcore is only 1.19v real volts under load.
I'll do more testing later on, letting it burn in some at 3.2.
batch: L724B175 is probably what you can expect if you order the OEM version ClubIt has for now.

uhhh, i think not good, but... not bad
room 15°C, core 22°C, idle... watercooler

specs -> Q6600 (L721A) under P5K Deluxe, and 512mb ddr2 667 5-5-5-15 @ 860 5-5-5-15, im waiting for 2gb crucial ballistix tracer 800 =P
q6600 boots in 430*9 = 1.45v (full stable) 450*9 = 1.55v (don't post/boot) =(
Just got mine from ClubIT,
Q6600 G0 SLACR
L726A855
1.35v max
Have not tested it yet...
I got L721 SL9UM (B3) from Newegg NJ yesterday.
So far 3.24 Ghz @ 1.31v loaded prime stable. Droop is a killer, was .3 with E6420 and .6 with quad. Double the cores, double the droop. EDIT: it's priming 3.3 @ 1.31v loaded now.
Running some benches, Dirt is smoother with quad gained about 10 FPS avg @ 1280x1024 4xAA (my 19" GX2 90 max is 1280x1024). MOHA never drops below 100 fps, RS Vegas never below 100 fps with aa though. Gained 1700 points in 3dmark 06 CPU score from 3300 @ 3.7Ghz E6420 to 5000 with 3.2 Quad.
So far gaming is smoother with a quad.
Mine just came in from ClubIT today too.
Of course G0, they advertise at time of purchase.
Batch: L731A364. Look like this is a much latter week than everyone elses. Hope the OC goes well. Haven't started the OC.....yet
I just got in the rest of my parts and can now start building finally. My quad is a L726A849 going on a 120.3 of its own, Case is a brand new stacker old style getting stripped as I type this and fitted for the rad. Should be interesting.
So far, it has been great, BUT my motherboard (BadAxe2) (AGAIN) has prevented me from overclocking it to it's full potential. @ default voltage, it is ROCK stable @ 3.15 ghz (my old CPU, an E6600 needed much more voltage to be stable at that speed and was my max too on it, so it must be my boards limit), so it looks like that I will need a different board if I want to push this one any higher.
1. Newegg
2. 10-4-07
3 b3 sl9um L719B168
Just got it in today, along with a DFI LP UT P35 T2R, a Tuniq T-120-LFB, and Gskill F2-8000CL5D-4GBPQ.
Upgrading from what's in my sig.
Got mine from Clubit
G0, 26A, oem
Guess I wasn't lucky...
L723A vid= 1,2875
3,24Ghz (463x7) Prime95 Stable vcore=1,325 bios
3,40Ghz (425x8) Prime95 Stable vcore=1,4 bios
3,52Ghz (440x8) Prime95 Stable vcore=1,45 bios
3,60GHz (450x8) Prime95 fails in a minute, upped up to 1,5 and still failing :(
Well i just expecting to this batch to do as the other that can hit 3,6 at 1,4, but as i said guess i wasn't lucky at all
Is there any way to have the VID before buying, any code or something ? or is it just luck ? I've seen some nice OC on this batch...
Regards
Sergio
does the vid really mean something? i've seen many with same vids do different things and different vids do the same things. mine is 1.2750 and i'm getting a stable 3.825 with 1.46. can't seem to hit anything higher but i think it's because of the MB.
