OK!!!!!!!!! It's official. I talked to a guy at Fry's Electronics who is an enthusiast. He says C2D are ALREADY in the cage and they have TONS of all speeds. They're already SKU'd and in the computer and will go on the shelf next week.

i wouldn't expect those prices to be any better then the high ones people are complaining about on the net.Quote:

This is disappointing. Intel still dropping the ball.

People seem to forget that Intel's main focus is the OEM's. Intel controls the OEM market and has millions of Conroe's to be shipped to the OEM's before the end of the year. AMD on the other hand has a much smaller market share and primarily caters to the enthusiest crowd in the retail channels so they don't have gigantic OEM orders to fulfill at launch. Intel is putting off the release in the retail channel till the 7th to give the OEM partners a head start at getting their systems ready. That's where all the money is and where all the numbers in PC's sold is so that is what Intel cares about. Not a few thousand enthuesiest users that would kill a baby kitten to have a processor a week early lol.Quote:

With all due respect I paid $580 for my 4200+ X2 ($60 over MSRP) and they were impossible to find over three weeks from advertized release date.Quote:

I need me one of those scripts to tell me when these are available at these sites. LOL
Lets go a step thurther and hack their inventory/shipping control system, and tell the picker to pack and ship ahead of schedule lolQuote:

I have a feeling these will all be the scheduled retail price on Aug 7th if not very soon after. I just noticed for example on price grabber some company selling a E6400 for $229 now so I am certain they will eventually drop to $219 and the e6300 will be $189 or whatever. Yeah this isn't going to be like getting rare opterons or anything like that.
Damn, that was fast, i guess they only had 100 or less in stock, ugh,Quote:

If they don't make it by then, I'm probably cancelling. With any luck ZZF might have them on Monday for a bit cheaper.
Hmm, seems like monday should be a deciding factor with ZZF or ShopBLT. I guess we will have to wait until then.
According to the amount BLT says they have ordered, there should be more than enough for everyone. The question now is whether they will be shipped 8/4 or 8/7.
Even if zzf stocks on monday 7th, you can get it shipped next day delivery for cheaper than 3 day or 2 day at BLT... Atleast at my quoted rates to east coast.
The only problem I see is someone will need to post they have it. Or else it will be out of stock well before noon. Let all of us keep an eye out as you have others in different forums doing the same thing right now. That way we may all get an order in.
Anyone else notice the pricing games ZZF has been playing?
They listed the E6400 at $239 until they got some stock and promptly jacked it to $279.
They listed the Asus P5B at $129 until they got stock and then jacked it to $165.
They list the MSI 965 Neo at $115 now and the E6600 at $339. I bet when they finally get both of those items in stock they'll jack the prices by about $40 on each.
Good point, Fred. You're probably right about that.
:shakes: Quite a mess indeed...:-/Quote:

Fred, you make a good point. In that case that puts ShopBLT right back into the ball park again. Their's a good possibility they will jack up the price (makes no sense to me as it will turn others away) when the C2D is in stock. I also wanted to add the lack of restriction in buying them. As if they want you to buy in bulk so they can make their sales and move on.
A fellow on ebay had 10 E6400 retail box factory sealed but the auction is probably up now.
I picked one up Buy Now for 275.00.
the only one I found so far was this one for roughly $299 with a pretty good ratingQuote:

Ingram Micro is a very large distrubtor for many retail chain stores. It's also been rumored that Ingram Micro and Buy.com are one and the same...With Buy.com having no telephone number to call for any assistance with your order. We cannot buy from Ingram Micro (as far as I know) to place an order for just one. From what I have been told, their processing fees alone hinder people from doing it so they buy in bulk. I also heard that their online buying is so convaluted and difficult that it is a true maze online. But these are just complaints I've heard...don't take it from me...Quote:

I've seen that ebay link before when searching on there. Its crap. Your basically preordering and waiting for him to get the item and ship it to you. He DOES NOT have the item on hand and is still charing $419 for a E6600.Quote:

Howver, it's a 2 week wait and they do take up to 2 days to actually ship (from previous experience). So I am still undecided myself. Those 2 extra days do in fact tick your nerve when you spent your hard earn money. To know that your order went through on the 14th and it doesn't actually ship until the 16th or 17th really trys your patience.
I cannot say this will happen to you, I am only going by personal experience, something I have yet to forget. Maybe it was a one time deal who knows...
Just called up ClubIT to check how they were shipping and they said even though they're in stock they won't ship until Monday (7th) and even then the free shipping is 5-7 days fedex so it'll actually be delivered probably later than my Monarch order. Monarch seems to be alot lower in price AND shipping, so I think i'll just stick with this order.Quote:

wow, they were suppose to place some sort of hold on your CC not charge you outright...well that's what other places do. While some just take your order and do nothing until the item ships. Did you charge it or use other means? Because that's not right...they take your money and make you wait 2 weeks for delivery. I am sure they will send you the item but that's simply not right at all. They made the sale now make you wait 2 weeks...no, no, no....Quote:

P.S. I also have a gut feeling Newegg could be very aggressive out of the chute since they are among the last major resellers to come to the "party".Quote:

It's totally a guess on my part.
Anyone know what their strategy will be??
Probably to charge an arm and a leg like they did when they had the X6800 in stock. Newegg is so big now that there are plenty of people that will pay a premium just to order from them.Quote:

I ended up preordering the 6700 from Monarch. It was by far the best price @ 575 shipped next day fedex. ClubIT had california tax @ 45$... and there's no way i'm blowing half a grand on a CPU and getting OEM. Same goes for Tiger.
If monarch does indeed ship on the 11th, that would be even better :).

Don't know for a fact that's the price they'll be selling for once they actualyl do start. They'll probably raise it like they did with the E6400 (I think.)Quote:
