Oh right :p:
But 42*C isnt too bad...I've seen people dual priming at over 50*C

yup, those guys may be firing their CPUs.:fact:Quote:

Note:
1.the same post as here:
http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...ad.php?t=88292
2.don't trust the temp!, thats is after stopping the dual prime, the real temp about 43-46 full load on both core
3. On stock cooling@5000 RPM
4. I live on tropical island so the damn temperature about 30-33C
5. Question:
is my max temperature just 49c?, thats what the Tcase said..

Yup i think thts what it means, oh and great clock, i see the WC has helped you up the mhz a bit. I would have to agree with you tht your temps seem a bit high, especially for WC, but without a proper calibrated diode near the CPU its hard to knowQuote:

Where abouts does it state the offset in CBId?

Ah...It says -5 in mine.
is my opty165 at default awesome too??
my thermal offset on my shuttle sn25p is 16C :s, I load at 39C @ 2.8g 1.36vcore, i cant see that being 55C load cause this little shuttle has an awsome cooler.
Mine  :D :D

That's cool!! So you're only 249C ;)
Do you keep a fire extinguisher next to that thing?Quote:

I second this..and what does the offset mean..add or subtract ??
I think the thermal offset is the temperature you must ADD (not SUBTRACT) to the current cpu temp, in order to get a more accurate reading.
ok..but how do you find this value?Quote:

and have you found any benefits over one vs another..I have always used my yellow slots
no... when you have to add it shows only the number ( for ex: 4) when you have to subtract it says -7!Quote:

I've been saying this about the thermal offset for a month.. and NO -7C doesn't mean subtract, it means add. The thermal offset is on the CPU, not the MOBO..
My 165 supposedly runs 22C idle on a big typhoon air cooler in 25C ambient. So am I really running 14C? No I'm running 30C because the offset is -8C. My 148 with no offset ran 33C on the same setup BTW, so it's not the mobo.
