has anyone tried f10 bios for p35-ds3r yet
Yes, I've been running it since yesterday. It's fine so far, and it's not giving me the memory issues that F9 was.
I'm getting the 007feedf18 error in Memtest so i'll test how it is back in F8.

Anyone having better success with any of the new bios? I was using F3 with no real problems. Flashed to the F7d bios when it came out, and no change for me. Just wondering why all of the new bios lately, and if has helped anybody out.
Yeah might just go back to F9 as I think it's been pretty honest when memtest throws an error with that BIOS. Haven't bothered flashing back yet as i'm still in the process of inulating the socket on the board :lol:

How is the P35-DS3L for a board? I recently picked one up for cheap.
i think its basically the DS3R without RAID and and degraded chipset cooling.
Does the P35-DS3R F10 BIOS add small steps to the votlages beyond 1.6v ? :)
Well now my sound cards acting up and when you have a 180.00 motherboard you shouldn't have to keep adding PCI cards to fix faulty onboard components. Having said this apparently Gigabyte says my bios is flawed since my ethernet port is nolonger even listed in my bios an entire line is missing like my ethernet adapter was never there. I tried reflashing with no result and due to the 3 week RMA process I'm going to buy another motherboard and sell the new RMA P35 Ds4 revision 2.0 when it is returned to me good bye Gigabyte.
Well, I can't even get 1.6v.... 1.6v set in BIOS are 1.52v idle and 1.5v at load... ;(
The vDroop mod with that resistor reduced my vDrop a fair bit and does about 0.02 to 0.01 vDrop in CPUz and has no vDroop. What version is your board?

f9 bios for the p35c-ds3r rev 2 killed 2 sticks of ram for me, avoid it!

Yep, at least in CPU-Z that's what it's showing; I haven't checked with a DMM yet to confirm but i'm pretty confident this will be the case.
Not to sure about the vDroop mod on the rev 1.0 boards but you could give it a try. Can't recall anyone posting that it worked for the rev 1.0 boards but I'd give it a shot anyhow. Just do it with a conductive pen or something easily removable so if it does the opposite of what you want then you can remove it.

I plan to run the latest BIOS because I will use a major brand 1TB drive (1TB Seagate 32MB was DOA from Newegg! One layer of bubble wrap! :mad:)
Does latest BIOS enjoy killing RAM sticks? I heard something about this on past few pages of this thread.
I use highly loved D9GMH from G.Skill in 4x1GB quantity and they will be fresh from RMA from Newegg (had 2x1GB of old Green/6Layer and 2x1GB of new Black/8layer PCB) after they died in my ASUS board.
I do not wish to kill the RAM again. Confirmed memory was dead in ASUS M2A-VM micro AMD2 motherboard.
But I must use latest BIOS for 1TB fix. If I do not use latest BIOS does anyone know how much of 1TB do I lose? I figure after format process available I will have 930GB or so.
Did anybody try to overclock Q6600 (G0) on P35-S3 rev. 1? Or it's a waste of time?
Well i've read it not working when people use pencils to reduce the resistance, but it's worked fine for myself and a couple of others over the last couple of pages in this thread so it at least works in some instances, but not guaranteed to work.
It's worth a shot though - just mask off the area around the resistor with some sort of tape, grab a conductive pen or some conductive lacquer and then just spread it over it to reduce the resistance across it to 0. Check with a multimeter and hope that it works. ;)

Anyone else try this P35-DS3R Vdroop mod? I just gave it a whirl with a circuit pen and it's working. I applied the silver paint with the flat side of my smallest mini screwdriver. Stock voltage primeing went up to 1.23v from 1.18v. I'm trying for 400x8 stock volts so it idles with C1E 1.15v.
