Sounds like a bandwitdh problem to me, now i know why i was running dual opterons before on a tyan k8we before...
SPD bug still in 1503 for me, also, couldn't ez-flash from 1407 to 1503, had to use the dos disk method.
Doesn't clock a mhz higher as well, i'm stuck with a slow cpu.
Hi, some of you need to read my post again about the Antec Neo 550 PSU. It is made by seasonic and is more than adequate even for a XT1900XT-X. I have had one running now for over six months, previously on a A8R32-MVP with a XT1900XT-X and four hard drives. Playing games fine with no issues whatsoever. What's on page one is a out and out lie and should be removed or updated so it reproduces the facts.
The PSU is one of the recommended 'crossfire' PSU's by ATI, all the tests conducted by independant hardware site, read here, says they are ok. http://www.antec.com/NeoHEawards.html

ive got the thermaltake 750w toughpower cable management since i i think little over a month, infact my pc has been on now for over two weeks straight and no problems whatsoever. Sounds like you just got unlucky.Quote:

Are you using a ferrite core? Normally they are used on the front port wires. usb, firewire, headphone, and mic etc. because they are quite long, and there are a lot of them they can on some occasions, cause interference.Quote:

All a ferrite core does is to help reduce the occurrences of electro magnetic waves. When wires are bundled together, they will create electro magnetic fields. It's almost like making an antenna.

I've got a strange problem that started yesterday. Everything was working perfectly Sat night, but when I woke up Sunday morning I noticed that my machine had rebooted during the middle of the night and there was an error message with my spyware doctor. I clicked to close the error and my machine rebooted. After the reboot I got a general windows error message and the machine rebooted again. This happened 3 times.
I then went into the bios and loaded defaults and let the computer reboot again. This time the computer didn't want to restart. I had to completely power it down and let it come back up. When booting the time it didn't make it to the windows logo before rebooting again (this was at all stock settings). I then went back into the bios and set the voltage to my ram at 2.0 and for the cpu 1.3. It booted fine this time.
I was now back into windows and decided to run orthos. Orthos failed on core 1 after about 12 seconds. I then decided to reboot and set the bios back the way I had it previously overclocked. Voltages for the ram was 2.2 and 1.5375 for the cpu. Everything booted and seemed fine and even Orthos ran for about 10 minutes with no problem.
I stepped away to eat dinner thinking that all was good to go. I came back to play one of my games (trackmania nations) and the game would not load and gave an error. I uninstalled the game and reinstalled and it still gave the error. I then rebooted and backed off my overclock a good bit and still the game would not load. I then ran orthos and once again it failed after about 20 seconds or so.
This all happened overnight. I can't think of anything that would cause a problem (no storms or anything). I'm leaning toward my power supply as it's about the only thing that wasn't replaced in my new build. I'm also going to try the new beta bios when I get home from work to see if this helps anything.
You guys have any ideas?
My Corsair RAM didn't want to be overclocked as high as I could take the CPU, which only showed up when I used Orthos, so maybe your RAM has developed a similar but not-just-overclocked problem...Quote:

installed 1601 bios seems ok has the option for 64 bit operating system as already mentioned above, also bootup screen where it shows onboard devices is a bit different but seems ok
can ya post memset pic of new bios, pls?
memset timings vary with which dividers/chipset strap your running so why do you want it. It won't be any different to any other bios i'd imagine..Quote:

i wish they would do something about the wireless randomly freezing problem
really sucks and i cant using the nic cause its to far away from router, so you have to play with it and i get killed (cod2) cause i cant see for that split second :(

my question is if my PSU, (PR switching power supply, model LCK550W, dual fan)
(cheap, came with my case, a MPC, cheap too, but well ventilated)
will work fine under load. I´m planning to overclock a litle, let´s say a 25%,
to get the 3 Ghz , in order to do some gaming but renderizing and editing photos also
I live in Cuba, so the weather its hot and wet :) , big percent of humidity,
my room isn´t too hot , in the other hand
I have some Internet conection problems, so forgive me if you already answer this question, but I can´t
get , even I want and I need, the complete thread of the asus P5W DH.
