Holy, 50 million right around the bend!
Wow! I gotta get my broke ups figured out asap! 50 mil here we come!
im curious as to what Team2CH is thinking right about now
Probably that even if XS takes them in the dailies over SC week, things will settle back to normal afterwards ... but that's assuming they're paying any attention to it at all.

Heck yeah!
So 49M with how many down due to power outages and several still to ramp up in the first place?
That's what I was thinking. I'm still ramping up as I figure out the best way to get the most out of my 7950. I've had my best day so far today and it just keeps going up.
The WCG page is running a stats update now though  maybe I was a bit too early and those weren't the final numbers?!!
I just checked the WCG forum and Dave posted that exact number as the figure for the 29th, so today's score isn't in yet (or we missed the cheat window before the page locked). It will be interesting to see.

You can hear the angels sing as we clear 50 million/day:

Now this one I wanted to do but ya beat me to it! :D
Congrats all..Amazing numbers!

It would have been 51MM if our power hadn't gone out for 3 hours today. #$#$(&@$$

:woot::woot::woot::woot::woot:
Given that how many people were down for a while from Sandy that is even more impressive.
Now show some magical numbers people. Get those machines crunching.
I am still a bit late ramping up but slowly getting there:yepp:
They say people need a goal..Here is one: 70 million WCG points in one day.
Reason for that number?
1) It's never been done
2) It beats what Team 2ch can do in a day
3) It's 10 million BOINC points and thats a nice round number! :D

Dave has mystical powers that's how
I've been pounding my F5 key, finally get online, and here Dave posted 2 hours ago! Not fair...
He must have just backdated his post. Yeah.
Tooting my own horn also - I just cranked out a 673K day today  My 7950 is proving to be a scary beast.
Holy smokes!!! Nice work
This super computer week is really cutting into my BF3 gaming with this nice ATI crossfire setup :p:
Ok, guys, time to get serious and no time to waste playing games.
SEVENTY MILLION this week, just one day and lets get it done.
EVERYONE add one machine.
Your friends, your GF, your grandmothers old core2duo, you get the idea..
Seventy Million is the goal! :D
PS: SAM gets an exception to this.
THAT guy well, he deserves as "by" on this!
I was thinking of firing up a couple C2D boxes but I'm really not sure if it is worth screwing with them anymore :lol2:
.....
<fires up two C2D boxes>
I have my 7950 @ 880MHz core online now. That should add a decent number to the total.
Hmmm any idea on how to run boinc on university pcs efficiently? :)
You guys want motivation well here it is:
Take a look at WHO is in the number ONE spot on the first update on Free-DC stats.,.
Yea, I dare you to look!

Is the memory downclock simply to conserve a few watts or does it help with anything else? How much does that save by chance, anyone know? And is a 1000MHz overclock very common? Mine is at 900 right now, wasn't sure how far to push and how exactly to best tell if it is stable aside from bombing units or display corruption lol.
umm a 1000 mhz clock on the 7950 shouldn't be too tough. Pretty much every card i have seen has done it .. a few at stock volts but usually setting power tune to +20 should do it.
You can try by going to 950 mhz and set power tune to +10 . If it is ok for a couple of hours .. bump it to 1000 and set power tune to +20.
i am running 1000mhz on my 7970's and was stable at stock volts. i did set power tune to +5 just to be safe :)
Downclocking memory saves a few watts, but more importantly, it should cut down on some heat. HCC GPU doesn't really benefit from high mem clocks, just high core clocks. It will affect your gameplay I would think though!
Bluestang is there really that much of a difference with the new betas?
Yes, others and I have had no issues since clearing out old and using the betas.
are P4 HT's still usefull?
i got 2 on, one wont be finished with a WU for 29 Hrs lol
and the other finally got a WU today, its been on since yesterday which will take 16 hrs to complete omg
its about time to put these things out to pasture if you know what i mean
P4???? very little points, lots of electricity. I think MM might even give you a pass from running those rigs. If you are going to run them turn HT off as they have the original implementation of HT and which &*%$###@! at crunching ... actually makes things worse, go single thread instead.
really?!
interesting
i also have a P4 that could be re rigged
but it would take some zip ties, thermal grease, and a power button to get running again
im about to just pitch it in the trash instead of try
what say you?
Oh so powertune adjusts (or allows for adjustment) of voltage? Wasn't sure what that slider was for. Interesting. I wonder how much the +5 is equal to...
We're heading into winter here, so a little more heat is welcome :D Plus I do use my PC for games as well, BUT NOT DURING SC WEEK so Dave put down that phone!
http://i45.tinypic.com/30afbzm.png
still ahead!
Maybe this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814161353 Would make that PC worth it might need a fan on it or something :p:
hmmm
i could buy a couple of those
are those supported by WCG?
Well they are not in the NOT supported list https://secure.worldcommunitygrid.or...rtName=GPU#610 :D
I wouldn't spend the money on them honestly. I'd rather put the money to something newer.
thanks guys
Everyone getting ready for the "Party" tonight? :wasntme:
Yep! got a new bottle of Crown Royal Black for me and a bottle of Sobieski Vodka for the misses for her "martini" for lack of a real name.
Darn was hoping to shoot for the most power inefficient rig with this old iron http://www.ami.com/support/doc/megaplex.pdf  I mean 12 PCI slots!!
And yes I do own one :p:
By party do you mean installing more video cards and OSs with a handle of Kraken at my side tonight?? If yes I'm good to go
holy crap man!!!!
thats crazy
too bad its not kept up to date
as in 2011 quad socket, with 12 - 15 PCIe x16 slots :P
ohhh the possibilities
still ahead by a nose with one more update before the day is done ...

IBM....................3,972,467
Oh that's quite simple.
First you get a written letter of authority from the sys-admin running the systems.
Next you get a written latter of authority from the department head backing up the sys-admin and adding their personal endorsement.
Next you get a written letter of authority from the Dean backing up the department head and adding their personal endorsement.
Finally you get a written letter of authority from the majority of the Board of Governors backing up the Dean and adding their personal endorsements.
.
.
.
.
I said "simple", not "easy".
Without that complete paper trail it's not worth risking getting kicked out of college and possible criminal charges for stealing university resources.

*At less than half the run time of Team 2ch :).
*With only 301 users returning work compared to the 2518 of Team 2ch.
Go team go! Let's go for 100 million!
Hell HATH Frozen over!
Congrats to all you guys! :bows:
Thank you DA, I laughed my arse off
We haven't hit 70 million yet. That's still four more million a way. But I'm not doubting this team one bit. With new video cards being brought online this week 100 million / day should be a mighty goal and a mighty feat!
Just friggin AWESOME!
I got a total of 649,999 WCG points today. I hope that helped!
I'm happy with my 73k (WCG, not BOINC). I'm only running Sammies and some Core 2 hardware all on Linux, no GPUs. One day I'll be able to build and run a GPU cruncher, today just isn't it.
Hammer down:clap:
% of top 200 point generators that are team XtremeSystems members:
40% (20) of top 50
31% (31) of top 100
26% (39) of top 150
21% (42) of top 200
Time to get busy and start the party :toast:

So ... ummm ... Newegg sold out now, huh.
Also, <seer's hat on> I foresee pie in someone's future ... a mofo big piece too, for that matter!
All of this round came from Amazon, All of them are running @ 1000Mhz GPU and 1000Mhz MEM with 20% Power boost and 45% Fan on 1 and 65% on the other both keeping about 60-65c
But how many cores are crunching? (cruncher version of "but will it play Crysis?")
8 CPU cores would be pretty busy feeding 32 GPU cores.
yeah...........
you will catch me for sure
this week
Here watch some paint dry:

:woot::woot::woot::woot::woot::woot: :up:
Great numbers. Can't let up though. Fight all the way.:shoot:
I broke 100 MILLION points tonight.
By changing the "<avg_ncpus>1.0</avg_ncpus>" line in app_info to 0.25. You only need to do this if you have a high end card and need to run more WU's simultaneously to increase the average GPU load.
My guess would be as follows
<avg_ncpus>1.0</avg_ncpus> <this number here = 0.03125 (1/32) multiplied by the number of cores available so for 8 cores this would be 0.25
<max_ncpus>1.0</max_ncpus>
<coproc>
<type>ATI</type>
<count>.03125</count>
I am currently trialling 0.8 and 0.1 for 10 threads on one card. the above is for just 1 card. If it were for 32 across 2 cards then the count figure is doubled to 0.0625
Edit: too slow again ^^^
well i'm now running 8 threads on 6 core cpu
gpu usage at 96% 925MHz GPU clock (not sure why it's not using 1125 MHz:shrug:)
70,027,257
