Can you change the multiplier on your x6800?
Yes Magic, in fact since it's the xtreme edition it's unlocked, but to reach 3.77 on 8x I gotta set the FSB to 1885, and that won't do with my mem, they don't reach 1600 at that speed, so I gotta push it to 1891 I think, that gives me 3.78, and it just won't boot sometimes with p1 & p2 enabled. Same at x9.
Hi all,
I'm a newcomer to this thread having just become the owner of an S2E yesterday. I;ve just started wading through this useul but massive this thread, but for now I do have one simple question. Is it worth plumbing the NB Fusion Block into my loop or can I achieve a decent overclock, (say 3.6) with it on air? I know my quad is good for 3.6, I'm more concerned about board stability.
My S2E came OEM so I dont have any of the adaptors to integrate it into my loop which uses 1/2" barbs and 7/16" tubing. Its gonna take me some time to source these damn adaptors so I only want to do it if its neccessary.
Your experience and advice is appreciated guys.
maybe I'm an unlucky guy but all the fuzion blocks were leaking. I mounted em like I was told by the manual, s2e and rampage block were leaking. but nothing happened since I use Feser One fluid.
I would give it a try and test it on air. If necessary, get a decent block for the nb like the EK one.
So any bios newer then 1002? or whatever it's called.
just got the striker with a q9550 and can get to 4.12ghz but not stable just wondering if someone can give me some bios setup please
Any reason to try the Beta BIOS 1002. What has improved over 901?
hello,
i m getting random lock up, with my computer and i m gettin mad with this lol
no lock under windows doing things like internet/downloading, neither under P95 ( stable 9h+ ),
no errors under memtest+, it can runs for hours, also, i did see it lock 1 out of 10 ... it s really strange.
but during games, everything's freezing and sound looping ( no blue screen just freeze ) and this at random times, some day i can play hours without a freeze, some others i get 1 every 10minutes and then it run fine again ...
i might say that temps are nice since i got a lot of Fans..
anyone could help me out with this ?
here is my config :
AS2E BIOS 1002 ( same problem with 0901 )
Sound Supreme FX II that came with the board
E8500
1 stick ( didn t try with 2 yet ) DDR3 2GB CORSAIR 9-9-9-24 DHX 1600Mhz
2x MSI 9800 GTX
2x HDD WD Raptors ( not in raid )
using those settings
QFSB 1333 ( been using 3,8Ghz OC but there was this freeze problem, i thought first this was related to OC but the problem is still there at Stock speed )
Multi 9.5 Link Sync
LDT X5
RAM 1.8v 9 9 9 24 2T
CPU 1.25v
LLC Disabled ( did try Enable too )
PLL 1.5v VTT 1.28v
NB 1.46v ( did try up to 1.55 )
SB 1.55v ( did try up to 1.6 )
Rest is on AUTO as i'm not familar with GTL
any idea to improve stabilty ?
thank you
i heard about Raptor and Sata Controler problem what do you think ?
Thank you for reading
do u use the nforce driver from the original cd or a newer one?
i dont think that the raptors are a problem since i use 2 velociraptors @ raid0
thank you for the reply,
I am using Nforce 9.64 from nvidia,
i think i did read 15.17 had problems,
also they re only avaible on nvidia Europe, don t know why...
do you think i should use something else ?
i m not sure that Raptors are the problem in fact, that's the last thing i did think about,
also all the other device / settings look pretty common so i can t figure what s the problem -_-
9.64 is ok, used the 15.17 too, no difference for me at all.
would say maybe it's the nb voltage, but seems u tested quite much.
since this only happens at gaming: have u tried another geforce driver?
i went trough 174.74 175.16 various modded ( GTX 280 based ),
and today i m using 179.79 from nvidia website,
also using or not SLI, it is exactly the same for me
at the moment i m running only 1 video card at a time but it did freezetoo -_-
strange. well i had the same problem like u with my 9800gx2 cards (random freezes with sli/quadsli) , but it was solved after installing the 9.64 since the one on the cd was older.
doesnt look like that ur gpus are overheating. psu?
i ll try to re install the 9.64 cleaning everything i can before... you might be right, i did try a lot of drivers lately so it could be not working properly.
and about overheating,
i did follow gpu and cpu temp with PC probe and such tools,
if i can be sure about one thing ( i hope lol ), this is not overheating, ( stacker 832 / 6 Intake / 3 out take + NH-C12P)
after month long nightmare with SIIEX i have many weeks an EVGA board and i am happy ...
I tryed first day 1800MHz FSB, 3,8GHz CPU, 4GB (4x1) RAM at 24-8-8-8 1800MHz in sync mode, and till today no problems. No freezing, no stucking, great SLI performance ... EVGA is best mobo with nF790 so far ...

neither does the striker II board anymore! there is nothing wrong with striker boards and just like evga all it needed was the right bios. even corruption has been completely rid of since bios 0901 onwards... and i would say that nf790 is probably the best chip available i mean 2000QDR (500FSB) / 2000RAM on a Q9450 is impressive in my book
Over a 2 week period I had one incident of corruption with 0901. Flashed 1002 as soon as it was posted and no corruption so far.
OBR, I run 1800 x 10 (4.5ghz) with my E8600 24/7 8-7-6-15 2T with absolutely no issues at..
I think you may have jumped ship a little too soon..
hey Tyke did you ever pick up that E8600 to play? Wondering what results you had with it. I'm thinking about picking up an E8600, since I cant break 4.5 GHZ with the quad.
Here's a quickie @ 4.7 ghz:
