my bad. i mixed it up with fsb_vtt for the 88% bit.

your chart is strictly for stock speed...intel doesn't support overclocking.
guys...what i recommended for SB was what i needed to support my overclock..you can do what you want...if you run your board 24/7 then stay at a lower overclock and therefore, a lower SB voltage....fairly simple.
just remember your in an extreme forum...i stress extreme!;)
I agree, to some extent that we are in an xtreme forum, however, I don't agree on giving people searching for help, advice that can wreck there cpu in quick fashion. Unless a disclaimer is given. lol
this is an extreme forum and maybe you need to go to a softer forum...LOL
AND..since when do they have to follow my recommendation...i put it out there...you need to climb down from that tree.;)
nice attitude. it's also a helping forum. anyway....................................
Guys let's chill. No one here is naive to the point of "jumping the cliff" only because someone tells them to.
When you ask in a hardcore forum for opinions ppl will give the ones that suits them best and usually that worked for them.
That doesn't mean it has to be taken as absolute. You take little data from one and collect a little more from the other and that's it.
The best way to tune-up your system is to use common sense and use these opinions with caution.
divider problems:
i have problems changing divider in my bios, right now i am running 9x393 at div 266/667. This is the only divider which works - no matter what other divider i set i cant even boot! Even if i keep CPU at the same speed and even if i clock ram lower than what i have right now.
i just dont understant this! It just hangs at boot. With same settings, just divider changed, CPU/Ram the same or lower.
Sweet, I cant get it to boot into windows now, at stock clocks. This blows!
I am assuming that errors in orthos could be caused by bad ram just as easily as a bad overclock, right?
3 of the 4 sticks I have are not working. So, I took a known working pair from a computer here (passed memtest) at work and put them in mine. Now, it will not boot and freezes anytime I try to load windows or even the installation disk. This is with the processor at stock speeds and voltages. Ideas?
using 4x2GB Gskill PC2-8000 2GBPQs ? test each one individually with tRFC manually set at say 52, 56 or 64 first and see
stick with 1:1, 5:6 or 2:3 dividers to test memory. Latest bios fixes 5:8 divider but 4:5 is still limited to 440FSB and 3:5 is a no go. Prior bioses may have no boot if you try using 5:8 divider even at 266FSB!
I cleared all the settings in the bios and loaded optimized defaults. Now, it runs fine. but yea, eva2000, I did exactly what you just described and only 1 stick passed at 800mhz. I am more than a little upset with G.Skill right now. I REALLY want my money back, but I doubt I will get it.
Looks like the manufacturers are doing good job there since DDR3 is out, it says to me that they really work on it so we jump up to DDR3 from DDR2. Since I don't know what to tell about it, more and more ppl are getting problems :(
GL Razor :)
this might also work for OCZ XTC Plats 2, assuming they are powerchips. (Its the same as reaperx, they sell them in Europe without the reaperx ramsink as "ocz xtc platinum 2")
A related question: Is it generally better to run ram 1:1 with FSB???? i read this once in a while. Then others say its better to run FSB and ram higher.
sorry to bring this up but does this board favor the D9GMH based ram better or the D9GKX? just wondering cuz im thinking about picking up some cellshocks. thx
thx praz, just wondering cuz my tracers dont seem to clock very well. cant get them stable at 500mhz 5-5-5-15 at 2.2v.
could anyone recommend me some good ram for this board?
i would get some ballistix 8500 but the seemed to have changed the chips on them.:(
edit:
should i try a different bios im on the 11/28. thx
