got a CT-479 and P4P800se recently to replace my DFI 855GMe
played with my B1 715 while my 740 comes
anyways - whats with the temps
my 715 runs at 16C idle and 20C load on a swiftech chipset cooler (about 18C to 23C measured with a thermal probe) on my DFI 855GMe, on the P4P800se it idles mid 30C and loads at almost 50C. How does that work? Same clocks and all
diffrent temp sensors,
I get very odd temps with my p4p800se

sure i figured the temp sensors to some degree - but this chip will not run passive in this system but will in the 855 - the chip itself is drawing more currentQuote:

you all have soo good dothans i got 750 and i can't oc over 2.65 ghz, i hope that 770 will oc better what do you think?

On another note.. Got error message after 7 hours prime at 220*13= 2860 MHz 1,55 volts.. I count that as stable.. Temps during prime was between 45 and 50.. (still running the zalman fan at 60%)
It's kind of annoying I can't clock with bios... I want 250*10 but it won't boot... :( Clockgen does 260*10.
Btw my dothan isn't that good 2.7 suicide screen is the best I got. 2.582 prime stable for 11hours...

That's already said a thousand time's. Dothan's can't OC with the bios... Most likely it wouldn't boot at anything higher than 220 or somewhere around thatQuote:

you think that's annoying? what about mine. I run an Aopen 855GME and it tops out at 145FSB from BIOS. 175FSB in windows EIST & Clockgen. I know it's sad... but gotta use clockgen to survive...
because it's more dangerous loading windows especially when the memory department is unstable.. first thing will happen is to corrupt the windows system files. If the windows is already loaded there is less chance/ or reduce the level of corruption, but still can damage the windows and you endup having to repair it.Quote:

Prime stable @ 2900 @ 1.5v min. 100% prime/3d/everything I can throw at it @ 2875 @ 1.5v min. First chips I've ever seen where prime can't always find an instability alone. Really nice chip there Lithan. The vdroop works well with these chips and I noticed alot of chips like around 1.6v or so usually. That seemed to be the sweetspot on air for me.Quote:

Since UTT hates the I865/875 chipsets Im forced to run my not so great Kingston BH-5. Using the 5:4 divider and rams running at 236mhz 2,2,2,5..
Prime95, 3dmark and game stable.. I can bench at 3gigs but doesnt seem to hardly help at all. One thing I did notice was using the 10x multi appears to be the most stable and allows me to push the chip a little further. Also Ive been running the CT-479 jumperless ever since the first time I fired it up, not sure if that makes a difference or not.
This might be a dumb question, but seeing how this is my first Intel rig in a long long while, whats PAT, how do you enable it in the bios, and what advantages will I see..
