what for ? its working perfect like this on last bios

I havent pushed BCLK yet as I havent needed to, I think my current rams should do 108 at 2133 ... it might give me a boost in 3D11 but SB-E owns me anyway
SB-E is too expensive here, I will stick with cheap and powerful SB then go Ivy when it comes out.
I might go back to water with these and use them more.
:-)
when setting the x57 multi make sure that you set all four cores to x57, i.e. the non adjustable in os multi option in the bios.
pm me I have a few more things to try since not all boards are equal as sergio said, but regardless we will figure it out man:up:
It's cool mate, I'm blaming my motherboard and my lack of advanced tuning skills rather than your CPU :D
The last settings I tried went into endless part post loop so I will try again tonight (about 11 hrs from now)
I just want to see that 57x and save it as benching settings then work on rams and benching scores
:D
Did you own this CPU also?Quote:

jesus i would never thought that would be so hard to make the 16GB 2000 9-11-9-27 1T @ 2133 9-11-9-27 1T prime stable
needed to down PLL to 1,6ish...up vcore some notches

low PLL was the key. this is my beloved x56 chip, but he dont like much VTT or PLL, pity that for 16GB i have like 1.45+ idle and 1.44 load
inside ma room was 24C and outside hell summer but AC not pointing to rad or pc
i repeated 2 times this test to be sure one hour each to see if its consistent, as i found that sometimes i primed passed 3 hours and then i do it again and failed on mins...
now im letting it go a bit further

Right guys, I'm having some problem with my board I think.
I instaled it just today and by mistake I touched the ROG heatsink around the CPU and almost burn myself. I wonder is that normal?
I then decided to use one of the temp probes that came in the box. I took one and then just placed it insidie the heatsink to see what themp it will show.

Now I was playing BF3 and as you can see there is that emergency auto-shut if it goes upto 70* set by me. It happened, it actually reached 70*C ! (no oc, idle)
It really worries me.
btw. My new system.

By the place you have those "7970's?", you are activating nf200 chip, wich happens to be cooled just down the rog hs, and also is a warm-working chip. I strongly recomend you to use those cards in 1 and 3 pci-e, avoiding this way that chip, and most likely you'll have better performance.
BTW: Congrats, nice setup there.
Just got a Maximux IV Extreme-Z with a 2600K. I'm Novice @ OC. Looking to learn, looks like a nice thread
I picked up the M4E P67 board to try this weekend. I went back to the Gigabyte Z68XP-UD5 after 3 days on this. This thing just doesnt seem to clock as well, maybe its me, or maybe i just got a bad board idk.
hey guys, just popping in to check on things. how's the latest bios for this board? i haven't flashed mine since 2001 bios and was wondering if there's been any notable upgrades. thanks!
LOL, it is probably me. I asked someone and it was suggested to use red slots, so that is all I tried. On the R4E you have to use red slots when only running 4 dimms or it wont boot.
Also do you use the Extreme OC Profile? On the R4E it is only used for cold.
MWave had the M4E open box for 179.00 so I grabbed it. Doesnt seem to clock as well as my giga z68 or p67 boards. Im all but done with this platform and hate to pay retail for a new board, so Ill have to make this work, or go back to the ud5.
After a couple months on the R4E, its hard to go back to using anything else. It is by far the most stable rig Ive had.
anyone know what post code 58 is? Installed 2700k on M4e and hangs at 58 code. Chip work fine on other boards.
ok guys having a real tricky problem here . switched cpu from a 2600k to a 2700k and now i cant boot both memory anymore , just memory in slot 4 red if i use any other slot im getting a error 2e with diffrent sets of ram and and all if any solutions please let me know what you think , getting frustrated :shakes:
