With PL7 with 4x2GB (my rig is in signature) and lower than 1.65v it freeze (lock-up) in windows after several hours. PL8, PL9 doesn't help. It's NBs fault, but i don't understand why it need soo much vNB. Maybe it's 4 stick+quad the reason?

Hi guys,
My mobo can do 620MHz FSB and my CPU 4670MHz on air.

http://www.overclockers.gr/vbull/att...2&d=1228215223
I was trying to load the settings below:
FSB 530 X 6 Multi =3180MHz
Strap 400, Ram 1060MHz
Ai Clock Twister: Light,
PL10
CPU PLL: 1.55V
Termination: 1.41V
North Bridge:1.63V
But the mobo wont boot no matter what i try or how much voltage i give as long i have strap 400.
The only way to make it boot with these settings is to set the strap at 333,266...
Any one else notice this problem?
How is it possible not to be able to boot with so low settings when the system has been tested at a lot higher speeds?
My system:
Rampage Extreme
E8500
2 X1GB CSX Diablo 2000MHz
GeForce 8800GTX
Bios version 0301
stealth
Strap 400 is slightly broken when @ higher HSB IMO...
For my case, 600FSB boot will quickly freeze up using 400Mhz Strap, which will never happen in 333/266 strap.
So I guess for higher FSB you may need to stick on 333 Strap until a patch for BIOS is up in order to fix this problem.
BTW one of the wierd thing is, when high FSB (i.e. 600+ for duals, 450+ for Quads), when attempting to save and exit the BIOS screen will freeze instantly that need hard reboot to make new options to take effect. Anyone experienced this issue?
no its not a bios problem
its a skewing nb/vdimm issue
with that skewing i did and nb voltage and vtt
no issue like that
without skews i get that
very common when u change a setting thats not a ram related changes that requires a shutdown restart.. will hang
thought u guys realize that.. kekeke.. ram nb unstable is the freeze
Seems this is a cool CPU isn't it?

Why do you only test 8K ?
Small ftt's is hardest on cpu, that's why i guess.
Yes I thought Large FFTs should be easier as it's less stressful then small FFTs in terms of L2 Cache...
How about...this?

Excellent results ci2kla - low volts too
so I got my new 24/7 clocks at the voltage that im happy with
this is 12 hour stable I think that should be good

What VTT are you using for 500FSB? And, is 0.1 difference between BIOS Set 1.4v VTT and measured and monitored via BISO 1.3v VTT normal? If i push it to 1.45v, which is 1.35v in Hardware Monitoring, will it be problem?
Im using 1.41 VTT I believe pll is 1.56 1.29 vcore 1.57 nb +10 nbgtref its hard to remember exactly im at work now but its 12 hours stable so its my new 24/7 clocks I dont think too many people run over 4.5 ghz for a 24/7 clock I may try to get higher but mostly ill do just quick benches at 5ghz+
I also did a bench with more fsb earlier and the nb voltage is too high for 24/7 unless im using better cooling on it
Overclocking FSB for Quads and Duals is a complete different story.
Also I guess your 8GB ram is one of the issue of hindering your overclocking ability as well because I think 8GB ram is rather stressful to NB plus a Quad core, there's not surprising that you need such vNB voltage to get stable IMO...
The Rampage Extreme is a beast, here's 605FSB PL8 32M stable:

here is my high fsb run http://img512.imageshack.us/img512/2...tter32mpt1.jpg
Yes, i know this, but the worst thing is that i don't understand what exactly cause this damn lockups. I think it isn't just NB, because at some point rising vNB doesn't bring any stability. I must admit, that i haven't test my CPU on other board with other chipset, but from testing so far i'm still not sure what is wrong.
Hi I have a quad and 4x1gb, And I cant seem to rum memtst without errors above 1600Mhz, above that i get alway the test 5 error between stick 0 and stick 1, allthe other test run fine, the problem that i think is moving blocks between channels.
with 2x1gb i can reach 1900Mhz with my cellshock 1800.
Yes the problem is the 4gb.
Now I'm runing 3.80Ghz, and my mems are at 1425 1.9v 8-7-6-21, 1T
