I agree, and from what I see If you REALLY want to know If your overclock is stable on the wolfdales then 10k prime for 8 hours.

I'm leaning towards testing my ram now... I tried messing with different voltages on the DFI T2R P35 and my chip can't break 3.96ghz (440fsb x 9, 1:1 5-5-5-18 @ 2.2v ballistix from my sig) on water... even up to 1.425vcore, 1.456v read on cpu-z and 1.45v read on SmartGuardian.

no isnt for that ...its just cuz for normal use i am not interested to wait 12/18/24 hr priming to check if i am RS...JUST if i got some bsod or crashes ill find the rocksolid state...then perhaps get a prime crash after 5 hr(its happened to me) i prefer make some double sPi (16 or 32 m) to find an average stability as far as i stay 1 week at 4 ghz with 1.29 and now at 4.35 and 1.39v and not crash or bsod ...well if ur chip does it easy u have nice chip also...
I do have a decent chip, and you do not need to wait hours, there is a WORLD of difference between SuperPI stability and 8h Orthos, why not do what I do, go somwhere in between, check for an hour or 2, if u pass that then u r pretty safe but I have a feeling ur running ur chip way out of its league, my chip can run SuperPI but fail ORTHOS/Prime within 10 mins, meaning, NO GOOD! clock ur chip, check it with ORTHOS for 30-45 mins, then run some other stuff if u want, but not checking for even 30 mins is weak, and if u cant pass 20 mins Orthos/Prime your WAY out, follow? I am not trying ot rain on your parade AT ALL - but dude, your burying your head in the sand by not even posting ORTHOS stability, imo, we both know whats gonna happen, which is why you ar enot posting Orthos/Prime pics.
This is how we compare stability.
:( :( :( :( :( :(
It is stable just with this voltage..
ps.: ı will upload the image trying....

More info
i posted it >1hr at 450x9 vcore 1.304 the only one that i keep (anyway i did the first prime 6hr long at this freq and vcore but not save the screen.)..then i try it at 484x9 1.39 vcore and u know it ? it crashed after 2hr 41 min 32 sec LOLLOL ...AND I KNOW THAT A WORD of diff between prime and spi..but i told u i am not here to do some race or to show how many long is my c@@k :) like many ppls that push vcore >1.65 just for do a spi 1 m at 4.90 ghz

13h prime blend @4050
I agree that SuperPi = no stability
AT LEAST 1h of prime for me.
If i want to call it rock stable then it's >12h prime blend

1/16 pack date? Interesting. Just one day difference...maybe I should actually see where my limit is. I just OCCTed up to 5Mhz FSB above my listed setting, cuz 5Mhz is a nice safety margin to have.
damn you bigliar: i eny you :)
The "Temptation" is the hardest part :) I think I'll be allright with that tho.
This chip runs 7c hotter than my 8400 and with less volts, but its worth it.

hey guys thinking about getting a E8400 es but just wondering if it will run properly with a asus maximus fromula
450x9 at 1.29 v orthos > 2hr ... that's ok?

As there's no "official E8200 o'cing thread" ;), I thought I'd post some results from my E8200.
FPO / Q740A621, tray version.
Does 4Ghz with 1.216V.
Has been running Prime Custom for 20 hours at 4100Mhz, 1.248V with WC.
Think I can call it stable.
