I do not have any stability issues with F9...I'm pretty sure it's just false positives...although I heard they may effect spi32M.

yeah F9 works great for me with what i got in my sig
F8s on my DS3P are giving me false positives on my Ballistix 8500's as well as F7b, Reverted back to F6 and no more errors. What gives? And to think I rma a set already and had the new ones in a box and labled for shipment tomorrow. I'm glad I read the last few pages of this forum and tested the therory myself. I'm a believer.
Well I flashed to F8 (from F6) and saw no difference with anythng except a couple of tiny minor BIOS layout changes. My overclock stability stayed the same and vdrop/vdroop was still massively evident.
Does anyone know of any mosfet/vreg heatsinks/blocks/waterblocks for the gigabyte P35-ds3r/P35c-ds3r motherboards.
Everything is watercooled on the board except the ram and mosfets/vregs. The circuits are running extremely hot under orthos/3dmark.
It's a b3 x3210 (440x8) 3520mhz (rated at 260watts)
I'm thinking of just 2 heatsinks or maybe mini sinks with a fan on them.
Any ideas?
How y'all getting on with your P35 based boards?, us X38 folks are waiting in perpetual limbo for a decent bios...
:-(
I have better luck using F8 on my P35-DS3P (version 1.0). I can use lower VCore (1.28725 vs 1.31875) in overclocking Q6600. The missing CPU core issue can be fixed by enabling "Hyper Threading" in the bios.
Thanks, enabling the multi threading worked for me getting the 4 cores to show up.
But now with F8, I have .5v added to the vdim in the bios, and it reports as 2.080v in the bios and Everest is reporting 2.1v. My g.skill PC8500 is meant to have 2.3v-2.4v, not 2.1v. Any idea's?
With the new F8 bios for the DS3P what is the added Loadline CPU vcore control for?
I solved the problem with F8 where the monitoring for vcore didnt work, just have to unplug the power from PSU, and then boot, it shows the vcore ok after, altough i have to do that every time i enable or disable loadline
Anandtech has an excellent article on overclocking. It also clarifies something everyone on this forum complaints about, vdrop(vOffset) and vdroop. turns out it is a necessary part of intel's voltage regulation guidelines. Load line calibration is simple removing this safety. when we set vcore we are not setting the voltage the cpu is to run at 24/7, what we are setting is the top end to protect the cpu from fluctuations in voltage regulation.
read here for more, also a good read on overclocking. the article starts off talking about one of the new intel chips but it's applicable to core 2 duos.

im new to this forum,so i would welcome some help please.
i have just upgraded my comp.my specs are.
ga p35-ds3r mobo
2gb crucial ballistx 6400 mem
1900xt v/c(hoping to get 8800gt or 3870 v/c)
intel 6850 cpu(run@3.0ghz)
santa cruz s/c.
when i go in bios,it doesnt show my psu voltages,+12v +5v+3v,it just says okay
my bios is 6.59.the mobo is a Rev2.0.
i would like to overclock,i used to do that in the early days, but nowadays, the bioses seem more complicated.
this bios seems very stable,no double booting, but would like to see the voltages in bios.
in my bios i have the cpu @9x,and fsb 333(that is in blue writing)how do i adjust the fsb to overclock it?
i havent touched the bios, and at the moment its in turbo mood.
looked in the MIT,looks pretty complicated.
hope to get it running at 3.2 to 3.4 if possible, after i can see the voltages with another bios with your help.
thanks.
i have the ds3r rev. 1 with f9 bios, i just want to know what is keeping me from getting a higher prime-stable clock than 3.72ghz? so far i figured out that the temp isn't the problem since both cores never break 60c, the fsb wall is beyond 510, which potentially brings me at least 4080mhz. the max cpu voltage i can set in the bios is 1.593 on the ds3r, 1.6+ is still glitched and not yet fixed, but due to vdroop my cpu voltage is actually 1.52 shown in speedfan. i am currently doing 465x8 prime-stable, anything beyond gives me bsod after a minute of prime, i suspect that the cpu isn't getting enough voltage, any solutions around it? or any suggestions or ideas?
here are my specs:
e6750 watercooled cpu and northbridge
ds3r rev1
pc6400 ballistix
600w ocz stealth
F9 BIOS

1.440V Load
2.1VDIMM
BTK are you having to up any of the board voltages to get the 450 fsb?
My DS3R can get a bit flaky at 450 when heavy stressing the CPU and RAM.
Also try lower the voltages on the CPU a bit, my e6750 is doing 3.6 with 1.36v under load, your setup is almost exactly the same as mine
I personalyl didnt find that FSB voltage, DDR2 voltage or the other MCH (sp?) one affected my overclock much, as I hit a wall at 400 FSB with my e2140. However, my temps with my e2140 are not great under load. These CPUs run pretty hot. I can get the load temps down to under 60 easily, but the fan noise is too much for my liking. I may change my cooling and lap/IHS remove my cpu.
i did post a few days ago regarding this problem, but i havent had any replies to help me out here.
i am new to this board, and seeing so many posts about this board,i thought someone could help out a newbie.
perhaps its because its getting near xmas.
my last post is a few posts above this post.
thanks.
make sure your "performance enhance" is set to standard.
guys dont go with latest bois if you got a bios that is workin good
when i was using my p35c later bioses were not as stable for me
i tried up to f8 n f5 was best for me allowed for high fsb clock
if you cant get stable try earlier bios
Has Gigabyte fixed EIST in any of the latest DQ6 BIOS?
Same for me on my DS3P using F8, I get these false positives at address 0007feedf18-2046.8mb, with my g.skill HK's. Tried F7 and I don't get them.
But even worse now using F5,F6,F7 and F8 with +0.5v added the bios / Everest and Speed Fan all say 2.08v for vmem. The HK's are meant to be 2.3v-2.4v. Even if I add 0.6v it remains on 2.08v. I don't want to try above +0.6v as this should be above the 2.4v max set by g.skill.
Anyone know of any Vdroop mods for GIGABYTE-GA-P35-DS3R - I have rev 2.0 if that matters
i heard the vr zone one makes vdroop worse
