I suggest you either clean your windows cd very well, or burn a new windows xp cd, cuz from my experience jmicron is picky with certain cd/dvd media, my mate's pc is troubled with that too and I have to supply him with latest mediacode that allows him to read my cd's properly. He can read most, but certain stuff I can read fine, he can't, and on my PC everything reads fine. So its probably a combination of Jmicron being total CRAPHOLI and cdrom device not being compatible. Your cdrom device might have worked fine on older boards but Jmicron has a diff agenda:)
